what is supposed to be the end goal of your suffering?

what is supposed to be the end goal of your suffering? it will not help you escape certain death and the muscles you flex so many times a day are going to slowly wither away with you. most of you are not even getting laid either way. perhaps it is time to give up?

I feel physically better now than I did 2 years ago when I started with fitness. I’m healthier and much more physically capable. My life experience is better overall. I think some people have the tendency to overthink fitness. But for me, the simple approach is the best. I lift because it’s preferable to the alternative.

    >we’re all gonna die
    >you’re gonna get old
    >it’s all for nothing
    >blah blah blackpill blah blah doomer blah
Yeah yeah we know. Let’s at least make the most of this life shit on our way out the door.

Sometimes it's not entirely about vanity, homosexual OP.
In my case I started lifting because I need to remain strong enough to physically manhandle and overpower my older brother with relative ease.
I love my brother very much. He is 15 years my elder and he has early onset dementia. He is guaranteed to eventually become frightened and potentially violent towards either me or my wife and children. He lives with us and I will not ship him off to a nursing home until he deteriorates to the point where he is either dangerous or requires constant nursing/care.
    >tfw it's a hereditary condition
    >tfw no signs that I have it
    >tfw my kids might
    >tfw wife tells me I look so much better than her friends husbands
    >not all bad, I guess

    >implying there is any goal
    >implying that, if there were a goal, you would be able to choose one
    >implying that, if there were a goal, and you were able to choose one, that you would then be able to decide to work towards that goal
There is no meaning and there is no free will, moron. I lift because my brain received the correct inputs to lift.

It's all about the hormones. Pushing yourself fully, eating well and then resting up makes the body produce hormones which are subjectively experienced as a feeling of contentment and happiness. Not to mention the exhilaration of a good workout being in itself a reward.

There was a study that showed that people who meditate for half an hour and lift for half an hour a day do better at BOTH lifting AND meditation than people who only do one of them for a full hour. So there is a cross-training element to life, where the more you work at different things, the better you are at all of them. So people who lift should meditate as well, in order to give their body-mind connection a chance to develop and to form new neural pathways. Bonus points for doing visualisation exercises for how you will do your next workout, so that you improve your form. But simply focusing on the breath is enough because the breath connects everything in the body together, even the bones.

Find an end to suffering today!

I suffer for an hour to have 23 joyful hours, though I'd argue the workout is not suffering
You abuse your body and your suffering guaranteed, unending
Do you struggle just to move around the world?
Can you walk into any shop and know all of these clothes will fit and look good?
Is your heart racing, just sitting around?
Do people treat you poorly, because when they see you, they see a slob?
    Are you sweaty right now?
Do you smell funny all the time?

It is suffering, though. You suffer to avoid greater suffering. You’re better off than being fat and unhealthy but you’re still in the red here.

Whenever I look at my reflection and think "FUUARRKKKK" I think it's all worth it. Maybe that doesn't make sense logically seeing as that daily moment of narcissism is only earned from a daily hour and a half at the gym but I'm too fricking stupid for that reasoning to affect my feelings.

I enjoy the suffering so it's its own end. We're all going to the same place but I'm gonna enjoy the trip.

Yeah... I go to the gym four times a week. Yeah... I occasionally work up a sweat in an temperature-controlled building
Yeah... I suffer. I'm basically fighting on the Somme or marching with Alexander the Great.
    I'm a warrior.

It's not suffering, you fricking chimp. Creatures with conscious thought need 3 things: work, play, rest. If you miss out on one or more, you're living a hollow life. Do you not feel fricking alive when you leave a gym, at the end of a run, building something, etc? If not, get your brain checked out.

The only thing that matters is to not be obese. Everything else is optional. I do not suffer, I pleasantly jog and calisthenics when I feel like it, but I carefully watch to not be obese.
