According to israeliteggle the average male bicep circumference is 13.9 Inches. That’s mine as well, but I’ve been lifting for a year and a half and I can do 14 pull ups with solid form and 15 chin ups on a good day.

    What’s going on?

14 pull ups isn't that crazy unless you're over 180 lbs. I can knock out 12 at 210lbs and I wouldn't call myself particularly amazing at pull ups, just average for someone who has been doing them a year or 2

Depends on height and body fat percentage. 15 inch arms look like shit on a fat 6’5 guy, but 15 inches would look awesome on a lean 5’6 guy.

Reminder if you don't have a bicep vein, your arm measurement doesn't count. Because if you don't have a bicep vein, you're just fat. There are 45 year old women who've never touched a weight with 23 inch arms. That's basically you but with 15 inch arms, fat boys

bicep veins are genetic, they don't always show, some people could have shit vascularity genetics but mad lean muscle gains.

      Anonymous

45 year old women who have never touched a weight don't bench 4pl8. If you see a man who has 20 inch arms and benches 4pl8, he has more musclemass than you. Being over 20% bf doesn't negate that. Your 15 inch pencils aren't impressive because you have visible veins and can do pullups at 150 pounds

Holy shit you're so fat and insecure. Replying to every post in the thread with something about 15 inch arms when yours don't even count anyway. I know a kid who's like 240 and obese with arms bigger than doucette with a 4pl8 squat that can't bench 3pl8 (and is insistent bw ratios don't actually matter). It's like how the average american woman has d-cup breasts. You didn't do anything to earn your fatceps nor do you have good genetics (if you did, you wouldn't be fat).

Arm circumference is meaningless since it depends on length of your arm, which is correlated with height. Only people who care about arm size are manlets who have nothing else.

Assuming 10% bf, 17 is the minimum you'd need to just about fill a non-hemmed arm hole. For every 5% bf, add 1in to account for fatceps.

18+ is jacked territory. At 16- a non-"muscle" shirt's arm will be loose on you and at that point 12in vs 16in doesn't matter. It sounds weird, but think about it, and you'll find it true.

Unsurprisingly this thread turned into a massive shitstorm.

OP there is no such thing as a "dyel", it's just an arbitrary word around workout culture, maybe it has some use sometimes but it's no concrete thing. As was obvious there will be people here claiming you have to be 18 inches before even thinking of showing your arms in public without humiliating yourself. Since you say minimum I'll say 15, maybe even 14 inches for a skinny person who has zero fat on their arms.

  15. 2 years ago

probably a lean 14, to be frank though a big forearm is probably going to make you look less DYEL than just having big upperarms
