its not the seed oils them selves that are the problem, the problem is that, in order to make them shelf stable, they are treated with antioxidants that are them selves endochrine disrupters like bht .

Large amounts of polyunsaturated fat are bad in any way. Although processing and heat do make them even worse.

      Anonymous

Wrong. Literally every single thing about seed oils is bad. Polyunsaturated fats, and the fact that it is made from literal seeds, which are the most highly defended part of the plant, and is highly inedible.
Seed oils are basically like taking something that is highly inedible, and then making it incredibly edible.
Seed oils literally nuke your body. Seed oils are literally the main driver of the obesity crisis. Everything else is not anywhere as bad.

        Anonymous

I agree but how do you get obese from something indigestible?

          Anonymous

The weight you put on from the seed oils is pure toxic waste. Even though youre putting fat on your body, its highly toxic fat. If an animal ate the flesh of an American fatass, they would get food poisoning or indigestion.
Seed oils also frick with your metabolism.
Check out Paul Saladino if you want to know more, hes pretty good

asian countries are lean and frick and have been eating sesame oil for centuries, moron.
you're a fat fricking moron because you never walk and you love high calorie density snacks stuffed with shitty seed oils, NOT because the seeds have some sort of boogeyman defense mechanism.

You have to consider (1) total calorie intake, (2) total seed oil intake.
Japanese aren't eating 700 calories a day of goybean oil like Americans are.
And Japanese only eat about 10 calories of tofu per day, which is totally different from what tofu vegans would have people believe

Not literally every oil derived from seeds is bad moron, it's just modern highly processed oils which are fricking awful.

If they've been consuming sesame oil for centuries than it's obviously a fricking natural food since it doesn't involve insanely complex modern machinery to even manufacture in the first place

          Anonymous

          >While some manufacturers will further refine sesame oil through solvent extraction, neutralization, and bleaching in order to improve its cosmetic aspects, sesame oil derived from quality seeds already possesses a pleasant taste and does not require further purification before it can be consumed.
Sesame oil is fine, the shit Asians have been eating for thousands of years wasn't processed.

Sesame oil is bit of an exception and can be easily extracted. Vitamin E prevents oxidation well.

Sesamin is a lignan derived from sesame seeds (Sesamum indicum) that appears to inhibit vitamin E metabolism, which causes a relative increase in circulating levels of γ-tocopherol and γ-tocotrienol; it shows most promise in augmenting the efficacy of vitamin E supplements

What's funny about this argument is that comments will point to Indians using seed oils for hundreds of years, but Indians have heart disease higher even than the west

          https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6994761/

          >CVDs such as ischaemic heart disease and cerebrovascular such as stroke account for 17.7 million deaths and are the leading cause.1 In accordance with the World Health Organization, India accounts for one-fifth of these deaths worldwide especially in younger population. The results of Global Burden of Disease study state age-standardized CVD death rate of 272 per 100000 population in India which is much higher than that of global average of 235. CVDs strike Indians a decade earlier than the western population.2 For us Indians, particular causes of concern in CVD are early age of onset, rapid progression and high mortality rate. Indians are known to have the highest coronary artery disease (CAD) rates, and the conventional risk factors fail to explain this increased risk.

If you can't easily extract the oil from the source then don't consume it. If you NEED machines to extract any meaningful amount of an oil or you need modern solvents and ultra specific chemicals it's not something you would naturally run into and thus over consumption is a bad idea.

Alternatively, stick to oils that you can make with pre-industrial revolution technology.

Avocado oils are all cut/ laced with canola oil.
They also go rancid very quickly.

    ?t=1625

Then at 31:02 onwards there's charts for UK, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, China, Israel (biggest consumer of sn33d oils) showing the same.

They are fine for frying, but I never understood this argument. Are you taking table spoons of canola? Gross, do you not have access to olive or coconut oil? Just eat the tasty oils and take fish oil caps for some 4:1 6 to 3 omegas and you'll be fine. Don't get caught up on minutia, and don't be a slob, and you'll be fine.

I don't think that they're nearly that bad compared to the worst of the worst - processed sugary foods. If those were eliminated from the American diet, the change alone would cut obesity rates by a third. There's not much to being healthy besides eating the food that you cook yourself. Everything beyond that is autistic min/maxing, often with a touch of pseudoscience involved.

100 g of sunflower oil has 3 daily doses of vit E. Its essentially a test and fertility boost. Just don't cook on it as it oxidates under heat
