What is this?

Felt a sharp pain in my bicep while doing pull-ups and saw this red line on my bicep. It hurts a bit, couldn’t keep using my bicep.

If you tore something you will notice much more blood in the next few days, unless this event happened a few days ago already.

no it happened today, will keep an eye out for blood tomorrow

If you injured connective tissue like a tendon or ligament (e.g. if you see a lot of blood pooling and you feel swollen and you can't move your arm very well), you will want to move your bicep as much as you can. Your body will not heal your bicep unless you use your bicep frequently and with a full range of motion. Do not ice the site of injury—you'll prevent blood from flowing to the area, and blood is what's gonna heal the wound.

Also, if this happened to you unexpectedly, your diet must be missing something critical. I would recommend eating more meat and also incorporating beef liver into your diet.

Thanks. How do you cook your beef liver?

Just a minute or two on each side with tallow/butter on high heat. No salt or flour or anything special. I don't eat much at a time and I only eat it once a week as an addition to whatever lunch or dinner I'm eating. Me, my girlfriend, and my dog eat about a pound whenever we eat it, so I guess I eat half a pound. Super easy, super cheap, and easily the most nutritious food on the planet.

Can humans overdose on copper and/or Vitamin B12?

You will just pee out B12 because it's a water-soluble vitamin, like all the B vitamins. If this happens, your pee will turn a little green. You can only "overdose" on copper if you ingest it without zinc, because zinc and copper have some sort of back-and-forth in the body. Liver may look like it's not balanced because of the DVs being skewed, but it is, so you don't have to worry about that.

To generalize your question, any "vitamin overdose" that you would get from eating liver would require you to eat a large serving of liver every day for a few months straight, which would basically require you to have a mental problem.

                Nice
My boomer dad eats liver on occasion, I never joined him because I thought it was gross. I was gonna try some next time anyway, I've only ever heard good things about it in terms of health.
Still not touching the cooked brains though.

You got too big of a pump and your skin has split.

That wouldn't cause the sharp pain or prevent his bicep from being used.

I think the red line has nothing to do with the pullups, but most likely from the edge of your desk rubbing against it, or while you where sleeping etc.

The sharp pain in your bicep is tendonitis depending on where it is located. Keep form tight and for now you can do lightweight hammer curls to pump the area with blood for faster recovery.

The pain might also be something related to your shoulder, in that case keep your chest up during pull ups and do not allow for unnecessary internal rotation.

to clarify, the red line appeared immediately after the pain and is where the pain is located. I noticed it right after the pull-up.

        Then ignore my advice completely.

This is literally what happens every single time we lift weights and the reason we get bigger muscles after lifting weights.

Not him, but only some of the muscle fibers are supposed to tear. I think he's saying excessive fibers tore.

What did I say that was wrong? If you think icing a site of injury aids in connective tissue repair, you must have studied from a 40 year old textbook. I doubt he actually injured a tendon or ligament based on him saying he was doing (presumably unweighted) pull-ups, but it's absolutely possible. If it was the case, promoting blood flow to the area and moving with full ROM to the best of your ability is absolutely how you heal from such an injury.

Thanks, the abrasion happened simultaneously with the pain, wasn’t there before the pull-up. Really odd, I guess it’s just internal bruising from the strain idk
