What is your end goal?

Athleticism is a much better goal than just getting muscular or strong. That's not to say that these things are mutually exclusive, because they're not, it's just that getting athletic is a more manageable/realistic goal than a 400lb squat. I believe we could all benefit from focusing on GPP or getting a physically demanding hobby like kayaking or a martial art. Even something as simple as sprinting will enhance your physical fitness. If your goals are purely aesthetic this approach will help you too.

      Lifting is just basic hygiene at this point in my head, the same as brushing my teeth. The end goal is the same as with brushing my teeth, to remain healthy and good looking.

      I can understand that. I just dont enjoy lifting anymore which is why I've been focusing on fun things like medicine ball throws and kickboxing and other GPP stuff but its kinda for the same goals I guess

    something to keep in mind is that, iirc, all those do come with a higher risk of short and long term injuries, so it's not entirely one-sided

      I'm your height and combat training did wonders for my motivation to get stronger. They complement each other, for example I would never be mindful of training my grip to be strong (for grappling). Just this made my forearms explode. Also, competition with other men raises your test levels. Don't wait, find a good gym and you'll push each other to be the best.

    My end goal is a lean, evenly muscled physique so that I can do most of the cosplays I want to do without being that fat fuck in an ill fitting outfit. Nobody will question doing some anime cosplay and not having the insane physiques they have, but you can't even pull of most of them without being otter mode at a minimum.

    Looking nice is just a bonus on the side.
