Your behavior indicates that you prioritize socializing and drinking over the nightly rest which lifting depends on, and over lifting itself. Not a bad thing as long as you're okay with that, just don't pretend anything else is the case.

      lmao @ you demoralization gays
Motivation is necessary for take the first steps on the 1000 mile road that is building discipline towards some passion/purpose.
Our species wouldn't have made it where we are today without motivating factors in the early days of humanity, so you are saying our ancestors are homosexuals.
Discipline doesn't appear out of thin air, but motivation can.
You don't just pick up a hobby just because. Something motivates you to do it. Discipline keeps you going in tough times, yes... but motivation is the spark. You had to be motivated before or else you would literally do nothing - not even eat.
You are a homosexual by your own declaration, homosexual.

yeah motivation is temporary, it can get you started, but discipline is what carries you through

Unironically the best mindset for lifting. Turning yourself into a narcissist is like opening up a gate of limitless potential and energy. If i wasnt loving myself so much i probably wouldnt have been able to push through so much shit in the past

As a man, I have an obligation to lift and be strong (mentally and physically). Men expect this of me, as do women; but I largely do it out of respect for myself.
Also weak søiiboys seethe at strong people, and I find this hilarious and motivating

  17. 1 year ago

Nothing, really. At this point lifting is not raising my spirits, I do not have any goal in sight I do it purely to feel less physically ill. Lifting even ironically became a constant reminder of the inevitable doom that lurks at the end of my life, as there can be no endless progress of the body aging and withering away.

I unironically lift for dead friends and family who can't make gains anymore. My father unexpectedly died of a heart attack last year while driving his car like a half mile from the gym I go to. Somebody put up a small cross on the fence near the spot he died at, I see it all the time.
I swear that some of my heavy sets in the last few months were only not failed because my dad's spirit helped me get the weight up or something on the last rep. But yeah dead friends and family keep me lifting. I have other reasons too, but that is by far my biggest motivator

Every human has a obligation to strive for greatness. I lift simply because i have to use my full potential (and because its fun). I want to become a god amongst men that overcame all the hardships and inspires the next generation to strive for greatness too so they can hopefully surpass me one day and inspire the generation after them.

What motivates you to keep lifting heavy weights off the ground

because I feel bad if I stop, it needs no rationalization or motivation beyond finding the act enjoyable. If you don't enjoy the process just hop on roids and get what you want out of it sooner and more reliably the "negative" consequences are more easy to reverse than you realize and you can indeed keep most of the gains despite the natty propaganda.

It's actually the top 20%. For most of human history, 20% of males have passed on their genes and 80% have failed to. With females it's the opposite, 80% were adequate to be bred and 20% of the gene pool was disposed of.

Remember, you have to be in the top 20% to be a worthy descendent of your successful ancestors. They were, so don't let it be in vain.

I am cripplingly insecure, but being physically strong gives me some kind of talent or skill that I know I surely have. Being in a room with someone stronger than me makes me feel smaller than anything else. I will never admit any of this to anyone irl. I tell them that I lift because it feels great and because it is good to be physically capable.
I don't pity myself, I just don't feel confident/capable doing seemingly anything other than lifting. I don't necessarily feel incompetent, but unsure as to whether or not I am. Whether or not I'm justified in those feelings is impossible for me to say, but I will always know that I am perfectly capable of squatting Xkg for X many reps, for example.
I hope this post conveys my feelings clearly. What I'm trying to get at is that I am unsure of my own abilities, but lifting is the one thing that is completely clear.

You wanna know what motivates me to keep lifting? It was the time that I saw some ugly douche with 2 attractive tiktok thots using up a squat rack next to me to do bullshit exercises (I was doing Squat/OHP/DL, they were doing weird crossfit looking fake olympic bullshit and deadhangs and playground gymnastics on the pullup bars) and when they all walked away without reracking ANYTHING, I didn't have the courage to do what I wanted to do and stand up to the man and say "Excuse me, there were 3 of you there using that rack. Can none of you rerack your weights?" I'm sick to fricking death of people not reracking properly and I will never be that beta ever again.

Glad I decided to invest into a homegym, back in 2019 there was this gym me and my old high school bros used to put to good use, then in january the new years resolution concrete whales came in and did nothing but sit around on the machines and benches, text on their phones, gossip and the most you'd see one of them doing is squat the bar 5 times then rest for one fricking hour, after this they'd go home and probably brag about what a hell of a workout they had in the gym. Saw one of them the other day and she's even fatter than before. Disgusting.
