My dad went through chemo therapy this summer and it seemed pretty fricking brutal tbh. He had barely any energy, lost all his hair, had dry skin, was very easily irritable and was constantly nauseous. He also could barely eat but I think that was specifically because he had throat cancer. The good thing is the effects pretty much went away a few weeks after the treatment ended so just soldier through it and you'll come out ok. Best of luck, cancer's a b***h.
Ultimately people simply have to experience it personally to understand. Medical professionals are a bunch of thieving liars who will break the minds and bodies of you and your family. Each and every one of them deserves death.
it really depends on the cancer, if its an easy one, chemo can save you, if you have some aggressive ass cancer and your already late in the game, it can extend your life a bit, but the quality of life is so low that you might as well not bother.
saying words like "natural" when talking about medicine is embarrassing. it's literally an appeal to nature, a fallacy. just because something is "natural" doesn't mean it will lead to positive health outcomes. also the term literally means nothing, you should be focusing on outcome data, regardless if something is made in a lab or extracted from a berry/fruit/root.
Even a lot of pharmaceuticals made in labs are derived from very natural sources or were originally found in naturally ocuring sources. I think the issue is more brainlets conflating "natural" with "homeopathic"
Your hairs gonna fall out, youll feel incredibly weak, sleep like crazy, get nauseous, but youll make it through man. Remember that the alternative is certain death. There is only uphill. I made it, youll make it too bro, had AML. All you gotta do is keep your spirit alive, everything else is out of your hands.
hey anon, I work in healthcare and my mum went through chemo this year. its not always like it is in the movies. your hair might not even fall out etc. also, the stereotype of getting violently sick probably wont happen cus they will likely prescribe you antisickness etc. it all really depends on exactly what chemo you are getting, the strength etc. the best person to tell you what to expect for your specific regime would be your doctor. all chemos are different.
Best of luck.
I'm sorry to hear dude, hope it goes well. Ask your doctor about using ashwagandha as a co-therapy; I know it's been a meme supplement recently on fitness social media but I've been using it for the past decade and actually one of the more mainstream uses it's had in the western world has been as a supplemental therapy alongside chemo because it is so effective at destroying tumor cells. Beyond that, get as much ginger into your system as possible for antiemesis (nausea suppression). Best of luck, I mean that
>warburg hypothesis
based. its been proven with modern experiments. cancer cells all have defective mitochondria. some genetic mutations but some dont. the somatic mutation theory is a scam. all cancer cells ferment glutamine and glucose
This this and this. The findings on how, and why, cellular fermentation is extremely important. There's a great interview with a cancer specialist on Dr. Anthony Chafee's youtube channel about it.
Did some research on this actually. Muscles are a component to our immune system. They are antigen presenting cells(APCs) which help notice and capture cancer cells and bring them to our immune system. While I can’t present any statistical data showing that having more lean mass reduces cancer, theoretically it does so do with that what you will.
OP if you can, I would suggest looking into hyperthermic treatmetns with a dual course of chemo. From papers I have read around the subject, they tend to look very good for the rates of remission in the tumours. Though, if I may ask, what form of cancer do you have?
Also don't listen to the le natural remedies scit/x/os; that is the sure fire way of making sure that your tumour will kill you.
If you really want me to go all /x/ I'll tell you that you can cure cancer with only your mind by following the hermetic principals.
Taking magnesium helps your body fight cancer. Its also part of the chemo wienertail
Aloe has been shown to reduce cancer
Herbs such as lavender can also reduce cancer
Eating organically is a key part of natural healing. Organic eating can cure many diseases/problems but it most importantly can prevent them as well.
Remember that prevention is always better and easier than curing. Live a healthy lifestyle. Don't flood your body with junk and/or pharmaceutical drugs. You'll never have to worry about cancer in the first place
holy shit you're moronic, stop trying to kill OP
Chemo is literally a death race. A game of who dies first? Cancer or the host? It's the last resort because most patients die from the chemo and complications from chemo. Why put yourself in that situation. I can bet my life on natural remedies curing me. It's how we survived in the past. Notice how cancer was never a big problem in the old days. Only now as we have processed and bastardized everything we eat and touch is cancer a problem and will continue to be so. Sure modern medicine has helped us to get rid of several big killers from those times, but we have also created a bigger unkillable monster.
Use the medical system very sparingly. Even antibiotics should be used sparingly. They have a notorious rate of diminishing returns when used constantly.
Avoid daily medications. Avoid seeing the doctor unless it's necessary. Learn how to cure your problems naturally. Doctors should only be visited for major severe physical injuries
who said anything about mortality or lifespan you daft c**t?
it wasn't a "problem" in the old days because average people didn't know well enough to know or care what the frick it is
radiation as treatment only started around 1900 and it wasn't until the 1920s when it was become regular to treat cancer with radiation
since you like fasting so much, do the world a favor and fast for all of 2023 please
>it wasn't a "problem" in the old days because average people didn't know well enough to know or care what the frick it is

the prevalence was much lower because society wasn't a fricking shithole then
the air wasn't horrible quality all around, the foods had less questionable chemicals, people weren't as lazy and eating shitty heavily processed foods and sugar by the kilogram
Chemotherapy is poisoning your entire body just to try to kill small clumps of cancer cells. There are better ways, switch to a high fat zero carb diet and do regular 72-hour fasts. This will starve the cancer (which feeds ravenously on sugar) and boost your immune system (to fight the cancer) without poisoning your whole body. I'm not a doctor so if you follow my advice and die it's not my fault.
>There are better ways, switch to a high fat zero carb diet and do regular 72-hour fasts.
you fastgays are unbelievable
stick to your containment thread
Probably won't be fun, try to eat protein if possible to try and keep gains. After it's over you'll have an excuse to go on a mini bulk as you'll likely have lost weight but don't go overboard
It gets bad after a few rounds its usually a nothingburger at first
You will literally be injected poison so focus on recovery and on eating a lot, start now, avoid carbs
2 people in my life have gotten cancer, chemotherapy affected them differently.
one was always sick, throwing up, literally couldn't move sometimes, lost their hair, etc.
the other person looked like they were cancer free, only felt sick when they'd go back to the hospital to get pills and such, and gained so much weight due to being home all day and eating kek. they still had cancer, and were in pain because of it, but chemo did absolutely nothing to them negative wise.
Good luck, anon. I don't have any experience with chemo, but I've heard it's brutal. Don't let IST morons convince you more than doctors with decades of experience and training. Modern medicine has increased lifespans globally for a reason.
WAGMI, stay strong. We'll all lift for you until you're able to get back in the game.
What type of chemo? It really depends based on what type of cancer. I had BEP (bleyomyasin, epitopside, and cysplatin) for testicular cancer. It sucked, felt sick and out of it. The drugs they give these days will help with nausea. 6 years cancer free.
I can't speak personally, but my mom is going through it right now for blood cancer.
It's very taxing, it will exhaust you physically, mentally, and emotionally. That said, if you can bring yourself to continue staying active and maintain a healthy diet, stay hydrated, and generally take care of yourself I'd think it would make thing more bearable.
I wish I could offer more info but I really can't, anecdotally I've heard someone with testicle cancer say smoking a bunch of pot was the only thing that got them through chemotherapy, and I also recently got my mom to try using it and it was the first time I've seen her smile and generally happy since she got diagnosed 2 years ago.
Good luck, anon, I wish you nothing but the best.
>all the utter schizos coming out of the woodwork
I hope genuine misfortune befalls of you, the tiny chance you might actually successfully convince someone to forgo effective medical treatment for your mystic bullshit is horrific and I would beat you with a lead pipe until you had life changing injuries if you attempted to convince a family member of mine in person.

radiation and toxic chemotherapy are not effective cancer treatment which is why cancer mortality has remained mostly unchanged for decades save the benefits from smoking reduction.
