im a huge believer that deadlifting completes a physique. deadlifting itself isnt gonna build your legs or back or arms or abs or anything, but if you've already built those parts using better exercises the deadlift will fill in the gaps and make you look whole

this tbh, deadlift kinda works ur weak points
i didnt DL for 2 months when I started, when I started deadlifting my forearms and traps exploded in size

      .
how many sets x reps are people doing for deadlifts? most programs i've seen have just like 1-2 sets of 5. Rarely more than that

        Anonymous

there isn't a good set amount, it depends on the rest of your program to be honest

531 Forever BBB has you doing 5x10 at 65-75% of 1rm, after your heavy work.

        Deepwater has you doing 10x10.

The rep scheme completely depends on the program you're doing.

This and providing a strong base for everything else. Like good luck developing good shoulders if you can't even OHP without snapping in half because your posterior chain and core are weak as shit and can't stabilize anything.

Deadlift is the best ab builder and it's obvious if you have basic knowledge over what your abs do.

isometric bracing doesn't build abs. you get stronger in the braced position, but not overall, you doubleBlack person

Okay gaylord your gay little butterfly kicks build your massive 120lb abs. Fricking twinks need to shut the frick up It's literally exactly what I said here

If it's not some stupid "isolation" (which don't exist because your body is a system) every dyel on IST thinks it just does nothing. Oh, you have a 3pl8 bench? Well actually biomechanics say that dumbbells are superior so you will have literally zero chest, triceps and so on! Fricking dorks isolating their "upper and lower glutes" while they're 140lb stringbeans.

          >it's le isometric so it does nothing!!! You need to do isolateral resistance band twist curls like on athleanx!!
          Shut up you fricking idiot

he keeps his shoulders in the same position even at full lock out, is this the proper form? most people I see deadlifting throw their shoulders back somewhat at the top

Not necessary, it's a deadlift not a shrug. Some people in competitions do an exaggerated back lean in order to demonstrably show that they're locked out, but again, not necessary.
