wtf did anon mean by this

He knows your mom have weak grip and since grip strength is correlated with a bunch of health metrics he's helping her increasing it. Very kind of him actually.

Wouldn't just doing deadlifts and pullups help more though?

my old coach(russian dude who taught Judo) said it was great for grip strength but you needed to do it a specific way
two fingers with Index and middle finger
three fingers with thumb, pinky and ring finger

That's only two fingers with thumb, pinky and finger.

Thumb is not a finger, at least to musicians. 😉

It's shit, even climbers don't train them.
There are much better ways of training grip strength.

Right before your fist hits the face you begin to extend your individually trained fingers. Almost doubles the force on impact.

You gain insane strength in the fingers you do use to grip the bar, but less in the other muscles in your body because a normal grip would allow you to go heavier and train them better. It also looks pretty cool
I read earlier that gripping the bar by your fingers and not in your palms will eventually lead to tendinitis, but I dont know if theres a way to do them safely
