The best skin care routine is nothing at all. No cleanser, no lotion, no soaps. Let your oil barrier regenerate over a couple weeks.

what? Does mean I shoudnt exofoliate or scrub when showering for a few weeks?

Eating real foods , drinking water and coffee and tea if you like it, and sometimes not showering for 1-3 days even after working out/biking for hours in 100 degree temps etc.

I have generally clean skin as frick and I never smell. It takes literally 5-7 days to accumulate a somewhat noticeable smell but it's not a shitty odor I have no patience not to shower past 3 days usually however.

    God tier skin routine:
    >tretinoin cream before bed
    >moisturize after
    >wash face in the morning with zinc soap and moisturize
Thats literally it after hundreds of skin care research, all that other bullshit are the scam supplements of pharma.

tretinoin increases collagen production and will have u age like tom cruise. look 20 years younger but stay out the sun too. commercial sunscreen is poisonous btw, make ur own at home with coconut oil.

Cetaphil is the gold standard for moisturizers from what I've seen. Every care facility uses it.

    Shower daily (evening)
Scrub face with flannel then wash with bar soap (homemade), then rinse with flannel
Then plain Nivea creme first thing out of the shower all over face (including eyebrows, mustache, beard, etc.)
Then serum on face (just a couple of drops, it's pretty harsh) https://www.laroche-posay.fr/produits-soins/effaclar/effaclar-serum-a-l-acide-salicylique-ultra-concentre-p27422.aspx
Gets rid of spots and other marks very quickly
If my pores are looking a bit big I will use this instead https://global.typology.com/products/salicylic-acid-serum
It's almost the same as picrel but seems to minimize pores much better. Again just a few drops, it burns like hell after scrubbing your face.
Also don't use these serums in the morning, they make your skin sensetive to UV light and you will get sunburn even on an overcast day, only use before bed.

In the morning, wipe face with just a clean flannel and water (get rid of all the shit you put on the night before)

    Drink lots of water
    Avoid processed and fatty foods
    Avoid touching face

Only and complete skincare routine you need -

On a daily basis, wear sunscreen (get a broad spectrum one that usually has +++ in its name or description, anywhere from 30-50 UV - the sun is responsible for 80% of external aging, it literally oxidises your skin (tanning is a cellular response to DNA damage)

use a cleanser in the shower (any cream or whatever you use needs to penetrate into the deeper layers of your skin which will be inhibited by any creams/dirt/oils)

    NIGHT ROUTINE:

use a retinol/tretinol cream at night, the lower the dosage, the safer it'll be on your skin but will take longer to exhibit its effects but this is the main cream you should be using, alternate with a night vitamin c cream)

    DAY ROUTINE:

Alternate using either a hyaluronic acid or vitamin c serum as your initial layer coming out of the shower after you have cleansed and exfoilated your skin (heat from the shower), apply a moisturizer (something with hyaluronic acid/ceramides like a moisturizer from Cerave) on top of the serum (drier the skin, use a more hydrating formula), let the moisturizer set in for about 10-15 mins and put on your sunscreen.

    Other factors:

    - make sure you're getting enough sleep
    - have a diet high in antioxidants, protein and collagen (eat your chicken skins), minimise foods high in sugar
    - make sure you're getting your fruit/vegetables for the day, preferably a lot of leafy greens
    - intermittently fast (autophagy will help with virtually any skin issues you have)
    - avoid getting oils/dirt on your face and make sure you are hydrated

In the morning, if my face is a little puffy, I'll put on an ice pack while doing my stomach crunches. I can do a thousand now. After I remove the ice pack, I use a deep pore cleanser lotion. In the shower, I use a water activated gel cleanser. Then a honey almond body scrub. And on the face, an exfoliating gel scrub. Then apply an herb mint facial mask, which I leave on for 10 minutes while I prepare the rest of my routine. I always use an aftershave lotion with little or no alcohol, because alcohol dries your face out and makes you look older. Then moisturizer, then an anti-aging eye balm followed by a final moisturizing protective lotion.

    >Moisturizer in the morning after shower
    >sunscreen the whole day
    >A light ph-neutral soap (I use a foam) in the evening or when you no longer leave the house to clean everything off, applied with a soft silicone scrubber
    >A face cream with retinol in it overnight.
That's literally all you need. And apart from the retinol cream it's not even expensive.

gentle cleanser at night, leave face damp, then apply moisturizer, then petroleum jelly. sleep on back.

sunscreen during the day. sometimes I splash water on my face when i wake up and apply a moisturizer. i don't do much but my dry skin started fricking with me and i have a stupid amount of time available to research random shit.

By level of importance: sunscreen > moisturizer > cleanser > other shit depending on your needs.

petrolatum is likely the best treatment for dry skin. if you struggle with chapped lips, try petroleum jelly instead. Much cheaper, non-addictive, and will probably work better. i saw a huge difference after one night. blew my mind.

90% of skincare is eating properly. If you have shitty skin you probably eat awful stuff.
I drank a frickton of milk throughout my life and was always wondering why my skin is so bad.
25 years in I started getting into how bad the ~~*food industry*~~ is and started ploughing through an endless sea of information - counterinformation, propaganda etc.

The general jist is - you want natural food - processed as little as possible. Raw natural unpasteurized milk from a grass-fed cow might be ok - but as soon as I drink pasteurized supermarket milk - i get pimples, if i drink it throughout a long period - i will get infections and inflammatory responses.

Your skin is basically an indicator about what's going on underneath.

I also used to love pastries, bread and pasta which are also unhealthy and just bloat you.

Oh and I also sunbathe quite a bit, whenever I can - usually about for an hour daily during the summer. My skin went from utter shit to God tier in 2 years.
