I like that I can track the workout, and still get texts and stuff, while leaving phone in locker. >not sitting on equipment and scrolling IST like a dumbass
I hung out with some fat people last week and one of their apple watches told them they did 10k steps for the day and they were legitimately proud of it
Steps are kind of a 'tard gauge. Like, my typical low-impact cardio is less than 4000 steps and 45 minutes but my heart rate stays over 140 so it ends up being like 600 calories burned. Seeing this instagram bitches filming themselves in bikinis on treadmills with Incline: 0 and Speed: 2 that aren't even sweating ... like, what's the fucking point? Congrats on your 10,000 steps. And your 80 calories burned with no muscle development. What a waste of time.
dont pay attention these retards. it depends how deep do you wanna go down the rabbit hole of fitness tracking. if you wanna do basic shit just go for a cheap smartband. they are good for checking you are in the right cardio zone or checking if your bpm are improving after lots of sessions. also, its a great motivator as you can check at the end of the day how much did you do. bonus points if you have an smart scale, i grant these retards they are not extremely accurate, but they are enough to know if you are exercising right or just training wrong.
i dont get retards that go to the gym to just fucking walk. like, you can do that just going outside whats the fucking point of a gym membership just to fucking walk. you have all the equipment at the gym to become a fucking super human and they choose to not only fucking walk but CALMLY walk. anyways, i can check some thot ass while i fucking rekt the rowing machine.
I've worked in a lot of corporate offices, and it's always fat women who flock to these meme devices like smart watches and fitbits etc.
I dunno if it's hilarious or pathetic or both.
I used a fitbit to get into the routine of exercising but now I don't use it anymore because i don't need it. It's still useful for tracking your steps.
G shocks are the shit. Spring for the one that syncs to the atomic clock and has solar charging. I use my countdown timer to time rest periods and frequently use the stop watch.
Once a guy in the office bragged about how he took a loan to buy an apple watch.
I asked him what he'll do with it.
After not being able to come up with anything useful he said he can track the star positions. He returned it shortly after.
Or he kept it out of shame but never wore it again, who knows.
My dad got me one for Christmas after remembering I said my Fitbit screen was dead. I don’t hate it but it still feels pointless. I’m basically going to use it as a gps running watch.
Watch bros, I recently found an old stash of wristwatches from a relative. I have 0 idea about brands and how valuable they actually are.
Some known names there are Caterpillar, Nautica and Festina, but I don't know which brand could be considered better. Any help?
>It’s also a great conversation starter.
Oi mate, fancy seing you back here in dark alley, might not mind telling what time that shiny thong of yours shows?
>conversation starter
Trust me anon, no one wants to talk to you about your fucking Rolex, and we all just think you're a massive cunt who needs to pull your head out from your own ass.
Great advice for the wrong reasons. I purposefully go out of my way to avoid talking to people with """real""" watches. They're always deluded boomers living in the past, or even worse, unironically bought into the status symbol meme. It's like bragging about wearing a monocle.
I just own rolexes because my money is dirty and the 2nd hand market is very stable and in fact has been trending up for the last few years.
>timepiece
you realise that you sound like a huge gay saying that right? also >not buying an omega

What's the IST approved smartwatch for losing weight?
you're a retard if you need a smartwatch to lose weight. if you are already not motivated enough to get off your ass a watch isn't going to change that. they are basically useless in the gym, but that said they are great for outdoor runs: >can listen to music without having to carry a phone >heart rate and pace tracking is good for HR zone training >if you're an autist like me, it's fun to see number go up after months of training (or resting HR go down) >sleep tracking is good if you're into that >other shit like notifications, timers and alarms, reminders, apple/google pay, etc are fun bonuses
basically if you want only fitness tracking, get a fitbit or a cheap garmin or some shit like that. if you want the other shit then go apple watch/galaxy watch/whatever watch "pairs" with your phone
Pretty much agree with all this anon says. Not needing to carry a phone for music and strava is basically 90% of the benefit of them for me. As someone who needs glasses its a useful for tracking time when swimming too. Also find it useful for just timing things when I'm cooking or if I'm playing team sports to see when people should sub/how close to half time we are. It's something you should want after doing activities, not something that is going to make you do them.

Fitbit charge 5 so you can look at your ekg since your fatass is at risk of heart attack but it's dumb enough that you only have to charge it weeekly
And it has auto walk/run/bike detection too but mine failed the last time I biked so whatever, started it manually
Smartwatches are for people who try to solve all of their problems by buying shit.
Literally no one has ever learned anything from their smart watch that's made them fitter they couldn't have just guessed at.
Meanwhile you're getting pozzed, tracked, zucked, cucked and pushed constant goyslop and glomohomo messaging promos for something that's headed to the trash in two years
If you want to track distances/steps your phone does it just fine.
If you want to measure your pulse these watches arent precise and a biceps or chest band will be better.
Getting started, anything that monitors heartrate is fine. If your heart rate isn't at least 120 while doing your cardio, you need to increase the difficulty. Strap weights to your back, steeper incline, tighter resistance, whatever. Average heart rate is the only gauge that matters for efficient cardio.
After a few months, though, you learn to understand the signals your body is giving you when your heart rate is in the right zone and the readout is unnecessary. Like, if you're not sweating after 10 minutes, you're doing it wrong.
Just use a step counter app on your phone like Google fit. Just put your phone in your pockets and hit the road and if you're worried that it's overcounting your steps just walk another 2-4k steps
The only thing that I like about a smartwatch is the fact that it has a heart rate monitor so I can check my cardiovascular improvements. Apart from that I just use it as a watch. The “smart” part is pretty much a gimmick to sell shit. A regular digital watch with a timer would suffice if it had a heart rate monitor but so far I haven’t found one.
I'd only wear mine it if I started running. Not very feasible if you use straps for lifting or use boxing gloves, etc. I got a Samsung one when I was doing wage slave shit at an Amazon warehouse just to read my text messages without taking off my gloves to unlock my phone.
why do you need a smartwatch to lose weight moron? too stupid to use your brain?

Walking for fat people is practically heavy rucking for normal people.
I've worked in a lot of corporate offices, and it's always fat women who flock to these meme devices like smart watches and fitbits etc.

>he needs a bing bing wahoo strapped to his arm to tell him how good job he is doing
There is nothing wrong with gamifying something boring like working out. Fucking crab in a bucket.
NGMI
YWNBAW
there is everything wrong with gamifying things
you lack the proper mentality
>Ah yes I need to buy latest consumer device to lose weight
This is a fat persons mindset, only the indulgent and gluttonous get this compulsion
I notice it’s mostly women. They’re the ultimate consumer whores.
I used a fitbit to get into the routine of exercising but now I don't use it anymore because i don't need it. It's still useful for tracking your steps.
just run 5km you fucking imbecile, smartwatches are the most idiotic things ever
Based, Gshock would be too based for this board
I am thinking about the gshock version of those but I am not sure if they are worth it.
It's wayyyyyy worth it. I own the G shock 5600 and wear it everyday. I own a F91W and never wear it... G-Shock feels solid, that feels like a toy.
G shocks are fucking retarded unless you regularly dive with your watch, you sound like a chinksoomer
G shocks are the shit. Spring for the one that syncs to the atomic clock and has solar charging. I use my countdown timer to time rest periods and frequently use the stop watch.
I like the zepp os ones

Get a real watch. A high quality time piece displays class, status, and ambition. It’s also a great conversation starter.
I have a watch like that it cost me fourty bucks.
looks tacky. i know, i know. i couldnt afford one. but i dont like the design
what kind of conversation? you aren't counting people asking you what time it is are you?
Someday I’ll have an Air King
Watch bros, I recently found an old stash of wristwatches from a relative. I have 0 idea about brands and how valuable they actually are.

I'm not going to help you because you forced me to look at pic rel dios Mio la creature
May I offer a gnomish queen instead?
I've heard Caterpillar is pretty good
Post pictures on the IST watch general thread, it's super popular
How soon can I buy her used, dirty panties bros? I NEED to SNIFF and TASTE her ass and vegana.
just buy a seiko wtf

strapping this to your wrist should help.
start out of reach of the fridge.
You need a watch to tell you to put down the fork fatty?
Useless unless you are an avid /roon/er.
Use this to not get tracked by the gooberment/zuck
Patek Philippe Nautilus
Consoomers ACTUALLY think this helps them
Imagine

Fitbit Charge series might be good for
you
There's no watch that'll stop me from putting food in my mouth, I have to accomplish that my damn self
I'd only wear mine it if I started running. Not very feasible if you use straps for lifting or use boxing gloves, etc. I got a Samsung one when I was doing wage slave shit at an Amazon warehouse just to read my text messages without taking off my gloves to unlock my phone.
Fitbit surge is by far the best one.
Google are busy defeaturing Fitbits. Would really nark me off losing features with an update.
keep track of your steps like a man
based paracord weaving chad
just made a monkey fist for my kids backpack with lead in it instead of a marble
I hope that watch is telling him he needs to eat another 256 calories. My man weighs less than the watch does.
