What's the best way to change

What's the best way to change for a body like a pic related. Calisthenics or Freeweight? And should I bulk then cut or should I maintain a slight deficit until I burn the excess fat off?
I am lost right now, I look at my body in the mirror and I'm repulsed and disgusted, I want to change. Thanks in advance.

    plants in the options btw
Literally just workout. It does not matter at your stage. Freeweight is more fun, so I suggest that.

What do you mean by plants?

      Also, thanks for the suggestion.

      > Calisthenics or Freeweight?
Its never one or the other, gymbros do pull ups and pushups and calisthenics guys do barbell back squats.

Definitely cut, you have no business bulking

I understand, so they complement each other. I don't have a gym in a 25 miles radius. But If I really can't progress without free weights, then I'll buy some dumbbells and a barbell.

So bulking at this stage would only make me fatter?

      Also thanks!

I know it's rude, but there are so god damn many guys just like you that ask that exact same question. So I reminded other people of this thing that you can put in the options bar to not give your thread a bump when they reply. I did this, to increase the diversity of entertainment on the board for your average anonymous board user.

I did help OP. I gave him the advice to do free weights, and I've never cut or bulked in my life.

I can see why you did that, I'm new to this but now I noticed that it seems like there are many other losers like me who have disgusting bodies and want to get feedback on their problems. Having 50 similar threads with shitty bodies doesn't look very nice.

Fast to the bone and do calisthenics

How long should I fast? 24 hours or longer?
          Thanks.

Running is the best cardio. You can ride a bike but running has more benefits and of course burns more fat

I see, well, running it s then.

that's right, it's disgusting. But you're not a loser, you haven't lost. Hell, the fact that you're trying puts you in the front half of the pack. have a nice day until you feel alive.

      Lift more, eat less. Magic.

      >You must to fix your diet and do cardio. Doesn’t matters how you lift if you don’t get rid of the extra fat
Don't listen to this homosexual, OP. Cardio is good for you and good to work in but lifting in combination with a clean diet is THE BEST way to lose your body fat and get in good shape.

LIFT. 3-4 SETS UNTIL FAILURE. AND STOP EATING SO MUCH

how many times do we have to tell you homosexuals this? It's not that fricking difficult, you just don't want to do it.

Maybe stupid question, but what would be the difference in outcome between OP only doing cardio while cutting and him lifting and cutting with some cardio as well? I've always heard that you can't build muscle on a caloric deficit, but is this only true for skellies? If you have high bf% can you build muscle while losing fat?

Any novice can build muscle on a caloric deficit. It’s even easier if you’re a higher bf%.

I’d be careful with running OP, if you’re heavy and never been active your whole life that seems like a bad idea for your joints. Slowly build up to it and pick up technique from youtube

It's just that I do not know how much body fat and muscle % i have. So I just wanted to make sure because someone told me that cutting without any muscles will just make you look worse. I'm just new to this self-improvement thing and I want to start it right at least.

It’s not that surprising. There are powershitters that would unironically tell OP to bulk.

This is why I tell every skinnyfat to cut. A lot of them look like OP and they still end up bulking because mark rippetoe/Jason blaha convinced them to “build a base first.” Some guy in another thread was bulking at fricking 6’4 265lbs

Thanks, I have done some research on those and it seems that while it does improve your strength, you'll still look like me, which is unhealthy. What's the good in being strong when you look like a skinnyfat loser.

not OP but similar, a sizeable bit skinnier.
wondering how far down I should cut before I can start building.
I was thinking I should starting eating more and lifting at 140 pounds? what do you think.
          i'm 6 feet tall.

I'm also 6'0, and currently, weigh 194 lbs.
Based on what I have read and from the answers, for you, it would be better to just cut down on junk food, sugar, eat protein and fewer carbs(Fast for 12 hours), and train every day with a day pause. And if you really want to cut, even more, start focusing on fasting because that's the efficient way of cutting subcutaneous fat. good luck brother, next year let's post on the CBT and actually get some mirin, you can do it, bro!

You are right with the last part, in the past I wanted to "Self-improve", i didn't know the actual term and whole theme of self-improving so I just winged it with some basic body exercise routine, but after a week I gave up because I didn't see results right away .This losing mindset and negative will is what makes losers, losers. I will not hope now that I'll change improve my mindset, I'll just do it, thanks!

Thanks! At this point, from what I have realized, it's better to just keep going and do what you need to do and not what you want to do.

Most people shouldn't run, especially not heavy people. Pretty much every current and former runner has countless tales of foot, ankle, shin injuries which can last for an incredibly long time making it a pain in the ass to just take a walk. It's just too high risk.
Walking is good enough for someone who is heavy. An exercise bike or something like is even better.

140 at 6 foot is close to underweight anon, you can cut and lift at the same time, no reason not to
