I run a minimalist program so it's out for me. I get grip + core from DL and jogging 5K back and forth from the grocery store twice a week. Get the good handled bags and carry a roll of glass fiber reinforced tape to apply to the weak spots and there is no issue.
I want to do these with a trap bar so fricking bad but I have no space in my basement. I just want that juicy forearms, traps and obliques workout aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
What kind of weight should I be doing these with, about how long should I be able to walk without resting? Also, would doing one side at a time be better for oblique gains?
Yes one side at a time is better for obliques and deep muscles of the back. Technically called a suitcase carry I think. Two hands allows for more weight, so it hits the forearms and traps better.
>what weight
heavy fricking shit, im talking like your deadlift 1 rep max >how long should I be able to walk without resting?
if you can carry it for more than like 20 seconds then it means youre using babyweight and making no gains, just hop on a fricking treadmill >Also, would doing one side at a time be better for oblique gains?
its ok but youd be better off doing 1 handed deadlifts
ive had to do them for work with 2 5gallon buckets filled with wet cement, i think they are like 90lbs a piece
if you want to get tough work concrete, youre basically a little b***h if you dont.
Reminds me when I was a delivery driver for Sherwin Williams. Sometimes I had to unload 64 buckets of paint/primer, walking on gravel or mud at construction sites, then pick up another load. My forearms were at their peak when I did that

I find it strange how people do this inside a gym. Its a wagie exercise and I hate it. Carrying two fully loaded toolbags from a parking lot to site in the city, 1km walk and then up ten flights of stairs.
I am that balding overweight man, minus being balding, and im trying to stay fit lol but im the boss, and i can tell you the job is a joke to 99% of workers, all they do is complain
I pretend I'm carrying back maaaaassssiiivvveee buckets of milk from my barn to my family.
Then while I rest I daydream about laying my head down on my wife's massive pillowy thighs and falling asleep.
I've only gotten kicked out of one gym so far, im a sneaky fapper
Dyel signal. Noobs do them because these get memed as a "super" move like barbell OHP. The only people actually big doing these are strongmen, who do much more than just farmer carries and even then they're doing it with over 200lbs in each hand, not with a 60lb dumbbell lmfao. I saw one guy claim taking the plate off a rack and walking with it was a farmer's carry.
Ever since I've started doing them, I have a strong urge to milk a cow.
I shouldn't be around fat women anymore.
If I wanted humour I'd ask about your one rep max. Please discuss the utility of the farmer's carry.
Shut the frick up and laugh, dumb motherfricker. Have some sense of humor
blows up the traps like a motherfricker
aside from that its mostly for fun
I laughed
Post body

Set up some cones in a figure 8 pattern and do your farmer’s carries around those.
fricking walk in place you dumb frick
a fun and useful exercise, I like it and do it a couple of times a week. Bonus points if you can include stair climbing in your farmer's walk.
I just use 40lb cider blocks. I'm a dyel manlet so its quite the load for me at 60% of my body weight together.
Yes
i weight 97kg my DL max is 130kg. i wanna start farmer carrying, how much weight should i use?
10kg each hand 100 metersx5
I live in a city. My gym doesn't have any farmers to carry.
I've only ever seen dyel tryhards doing it
Home gym is cool but try going to a public gym once in a while.

Load up some farmers handles with your deadlift max and carry for a few sets of 15-20m.

I guess people would rather get the benefits of it in a controlled manner, without a balding, overweight man yelling at them to hurry up.
Also aircon

farmer walk is based af, I like to work in shrug to failures while i do them as well, fat neck gainz
Is walking with 20kg/45lbs dumbbells in each hand a lot or baby numbers? That's where I'm at atm
If you're not reaching failure within a 20-30sec set, it's baby weight.
They’re great. I like to do them for longer, 60-90 seconds, so that I know that I’m using a manageable weight.
I do them twice a week and it works pretty well. I fell for the “do forearms everyday” meme, but all that did was hurt my finger tendons.
Good if you want to carry things like a farmer
Probably good if you’re a small framed guy.
god tier exercise for traps
the benefits for forearms are highly overstated though
Not sure if srs?

Theyre great. I do them all the time. I use kettlebells. I do laps with the 88 (HH) lbers

I fricking hate those buttholes who take the plates and walk around with them for like 30 minutes. What frickin inconsiderate morons
Depends on how heavy the Farmer you're carrying is
They are awesome
They are really good, give you an insane forearm pump
I prefer fascist carries
