Both phytic acid and lectins are anti-nutrients, they are plant defense chemicals. To make it harder for animals to eat the plant, so the plant survives.
You see, phytic acid chelates or binds to other minerals like iron, zinc, manganese so you cannot absorb them.
Some say that phytic acid has anti-oxidant properties, which are useful in addressing inflammation. I call bullshit on this one, plant antioxidants are not good for humans.
