pretty sure it was calcium deficiency or something because my legs kept shaking in bed and insomnia is also one of the symptoms

it was terrifying because I didn't know what caused it at first

When you think about sleep in an abstract way its such a strange thing that we need it so often.

      Anonymous

What's an abstract way to think about sleep, anon? Sleep is a concrete concept.

        Anonymous

well it just seems strange your body can barely function if it doesn't go dormant every 16 hours or so. You spend 30% of your entire life just sleeping, I find that crazy...

Nope, dreams are one of the best parts of existence, I have a 16,000 word document with some of the more bizarre ones written...

Yeah, I get that, but it sounds like you're nevertheless thinking of sleep concretely, not abstractly. I'm just being pedantic.

probably, I was more thinking if I'm an alien or something who doesn't sleep, then what is sleep. I suppose that is a concrete observation.

I should start journaling my dreams but my memory always self destructs really fast after I'm awake

On day 3 I start either getting extreme mindfog or daydreaming (also usually nightmares) so 3 days seem like max for me.

  11. 10 months ago
    Anonymous

like 3 days, probably, I can't do that anymore, though. Going even 24-48 hours is getting harder every year

  12. 10 months ago

More than 24 hours., maybe 36. On drugs, would not recommend. It only fricks you up. Would not do 3 days bullshit.

Might add, even after these 24 hours (which I also had when I had to write stuff for the uni), I feel like in a crazed state. Heat on the forehead, dryness and different vision/perception.

Once I woke up late on New Year's eve, then I tried to stay up for as long as I possibly could just to be able to say I "haven't slept since last year hehe", I was awake for like 3,5 days before I fell asleep while sitting up, and then I slept for like 16 hours uninterrupted.

Weirdly I didn't really feel tired, drained, or have headaches, but it was probably mainly because I was like 17 or 18 at the time.

2 days and I swear I saw things materializing before me. Being sleep deprived is a hell of a thing (no pun intended). Saw faces in windows and people walking in my home.

went to a friends house on a Friday night in 2010, snorted a bunch of coke, then bombed a lot of speed and we had 4 PC's setup on LAN in his dining room where we all played CS 1.6 5v5 matches through quakenet and chained smoked until we crashed on the 3rd day and went home. Could still hear all the sound effects from the game while laying in bed trying to sleep
