      >fighting under controlled conditions doesn't translate in to the act of fighting at all because... no ruelz in the streetz

Your reasoning is dumb as frick. It's like claiming that because a guy carrying a concealed handgun gets killed, firearms are useless for self defence. Knowing how to fight or carrying a weapon arent magic forcefields that will protect you from every possibility but both of those things will tend to improve your chances dramatically. Saying MMA is useless because it doesn't provide 100% protection is cope.

This is actually fricking moronic. Neither MMA fighters were trying at all. They were way to wienery and got fricked up. Classic morons talking about things they know nothing about

1st video the guy literally sticks his head out and asks for the dude to "punch him again". That's just wienery arrogance.

2nd video the guy was apparently blackout drunk.

Not exactly convincing me of your point.

If getting in a street fight is a legitimate concern for you then you need to do one of the following
    >move
    >stop hanging out with morons
    >stop frequenting shitholes
    >reflect on what psychological deficiency results in you being an oxygen bandit

    >video 1
BJ Penn came back and won the fight via rnc.

    >video 2
Don Frye was blackout drunk. Thr guy that knocked him out was also a boxing trainer who had a long amateur career and trained KJ Noons among others.

Both Frye and Penn were certificate potatoes by the time the fights happened.

Not really, he got KOd, and then, upon waking up, attacked the guy who KOd him from behind.

But it literally does. You learn how to strike, block, dodge, grapple and move.
    >b-b-but what if my opponent grabs a rock and throws it at my head
No combat sport is going to simulate every single scenario your virgin mind is going to come up with in a street fight, but it is better than nothing. Is your alternative just getting into street fights with random people to train?

Anybody can get punched in the face and get knocked out. Training is just minimizing the chances of getting koed or subbed. Retarted thread.

It doesn't make you invincible, nor above practicing common sense. If you stand still and let a guy attack you, you're going knocked the frick out.

There is none if you do martial arts for self defense. Which is common in Europe, but not in the US. And since MMA is not very good for self defense, it's popular in the US, but not in Europe. Americans are obsessed with the idea of combat sports beign a panacea (will make you tough, manly, rich, lean and you can even fight for real), but it doesn't work like that.

if you can't deal with things while you're drunk, tired, having sex or in any situation, you're not a warrior
go read the book of five rings
