What's the point of lifting if you're already out of highschool/uni?

What's the point of lifting if you're already out of highschool/uni? I get it if you do it out of habit but why would anyone +25 start lifting? I don't get it, I really really don't. You'll get your first gains at +30

Even girls on tinder filter guys older than 25 or god forbid 29

I don’t know about continuing to lift heavy or whatever, but keeping yourself lean is absolutely crucial to aging well.

This much is true. Being lean is incredibly important and keeping your blood pressure below 110 is what prevents heart attacks. IRC people who top at 107~ or so have a miniscule chance of ever experiencing one. Blood pressure is extremely important

      >it takes 5+ years to see gains if you start lifting at 25

    >your life stops at 30
Everyone thinks this when they are in their early 20s, but they're always wrong. 30 is when your life really begins to take off. That's when you hit the perfect balance between physical health, mental health, wisdom and wealth.

As long as you hit the gym, you will have the same stamina and strength as you did in your early 20s. Only now you're no longer a stupid kid. You've lived life and made all the mistakes people make in early adulthood and learned from them. And not least, you have the money to pursue to your interests and dreams, and the stamina to to follow through

Yeah basically this, OP. Unless you were a genetic freak athlete in high school, you’re generally going to be much stronger in your 20s to early 30s than you were as a still developing teenager.

Maybe if you were 30 or even 35 yourself you would realize that you are painfully wrong. Why would they filter a guy that is better than you in every regard AND has a better body too? You could not possibly compete with me in your dreams.

It takes like 6-12 months to get noticeable gains depending on your effort and being fit will improve most aspects of your life

Being doing calisthenics only for 10 months with extremely shitty diet and makeshift equipments (iron rod as a pull up bar, old school bag with stones as a weight 'vest') and I can mog thr frick out of 2022 me.

Still I struggle with confidence/fear of confrontations, any tips on this front?

Being "rich" ain't it, being secure is. Having your shit squared out and stable. You can always take your life into your own hands. If you want get smarter then read books or go to school.

Man doesn't need much to be happy, but being in the struggle will make you stronger.

Lot of "smart" people that never apply their intelligence and a lot of persistent people than accomplish great things.

Same old moron thread. I'm 31.

Because the older I get, the more my back hurts from just sitting at a computer and I want a strong back to counteract that.
Metabolism get worse with age and I need more muscle mass to deal with overeating on what used to be a "normal portion".
No matter what age I want to look good. Be it 18 or 80.
Lifting heavy weights increases my confidence and willpower, maybe just from exercising my muscles, maybe just the test boost.
Because it gives me more energy when I'm not lifting, and makes it easier to fall asleep when I have that day.

And most of all, because I owe it to myself to see what I am capable of. Reaching peak physique is just one part of the picture.
