    Honestly? Like 90% of the "advice" on IST is shit. It's because the overwhelming majority of posters on here have been lifting consistently for less than a year. Of the few that are the exception, many of them are just bloatlords or people who are juiced. The rest are autistic who clearly have very little experience with relationships have the social acumen of a gym sock.

    The only "advice" you see here is:

    I'm not even saying don't blast, but there's no point in doing it until you've built a natty base first. If you haven't consistently lifted for a year or two, there's no point.

    ...but that's like 2% of the posters here and people largely shout them down.

        Most people in general are overweight. The ones here are no exception, and most haven't ever committed to a serious program for even a single year. They don't 'need2eatmoar.' They need to eat less and eat the right things.

        Blent 2 servings of greek yogurt, frozen spinach, a banana, a table spoon of peanut butter, and half a serving of milk. That's 550 calories and 48 grams of protein. If you had 3 of those a day and one small breakfast, these new people would exceed all of their nutritional needs.

        But people here don't do that or believe that..They think they need to stuff themselves with chicken and beef and protein bars. So they're constantly bloated, their cholesterol gets high, and they just get fat.

        If you're brand new to lifting and you just ate an appropriate amount / lifted consistently, all of these people would exceed their goals.

        Also fuck you. They're called paragraphs. Read a book.

        I smoke weed and cigarettes at night on a daily basis, I stop smoking an hour before bed to mitigate the effects of THC on the sleep cycle. I haven’t smoked daily for 4 years before this year when I started again. I can say honestly that nicotine and THC are great things for your body when used responsibly, I’m a landscaper and I work my ass off + I lift, train martial arts and do 100m sprints. I workout almost everyday. Weed and nicotine help me to relax at the end of the day. I’ll probably stop smoking cigs eventually though to reduce the damage being done to my lungs, I’ll switch to a different route of intake for nicotine whenever that happens

    I honestly do them all and I have succes.

    Squats are arguably the best leg exercise (compared)
    Pull-ups with weights is the best back exercise (chalicstenics)
    Calf raises are an isolated exercise that work the muscle everyone loves to bitch about.

    Cardio works, lose fat faster when combined with weight lifting, while keeping up the muscles.

    Fasting works, it's a calories deficit, eat less, and is best combined with weightlifting and a little bit of cardio

    I don't see why would you pick only one of these, take what's best and shine
