        Yes. Wider shoulders come from metric frick tons of Lateral raises ime. Up right rows help too. Just building out the Lateral head of the delt.

        Overall appearance width, build those and focus on lats. You'll be wide af. Honestly though, just try cutting down some. That'll improve the ratio a lot for you.

          I've been growing well from 3-5 sets done 3 times a week. I really like cable or machine Lateral raises over db. They give me a better pump. I also keep my sets in the 10-20 range. I find Lateral raises are best for just a ton of reps and done to unbearable soreness.

            Hope he’s trolling. Making your back muscles larger doesnt make your frame wider, they’re only larger in place. Your frame is obviously your genetics and bone structure. You can do some things like build up delts and lose fat around the waist to max out the ratio, but it will ultimately come down to frame

      Same way they lengthen leg bone. You're gonna want to make a clean incision in the middle of each clavicle and pull them apart about 1mm each day so the bone heals. Keep in mind you'll never be able to use your arms again but you'll have a good frame.

      Circumference impacts the ratio with smaller/bigger anterior and posterior delts.
      On paper, you will have a different ratio depending on the above but looking at you from the front (which is the whole point), it's not gonna show more or less.

    not really. Where that number comes from, is they assume the golden ratio would apply the shoulder to waist ratio. That is just an assumption though, not a bad one, but wrong. Wide shoulders are attractive because they signal upper body strength, (and really just masculinity) and that association does not stop past 1.6, thus the attraction to wider shoulders does not stop. also picking the waist and shoulders is arbitrary, why non say the shoulder to head, or shoulder to hip ratio should be 1.618 (which would mean the shoulder waist ratio would have to be some other value)

          it really isn't. the shoulder to waist or shoulder to hip ratio is strictly about the perspective from the front or back. it's a 2D visual cue. it's why every man poses in a way that shows his upper torso from the front or back and hides away his hips or sucks in the gut. the thickness of your torso is a totally different issue. nobody ever talks about "shoulder depth", only shoulder width.
