NTA and many fruits and veggies can provide useful nutrition if chosen + cooked correctly, but compared to the average animal food, the average vegetable is a low concentration source of bioavailable micronutrients.

right but veggies aren't packed with calories so its better to eat a balanced diet

The average yield of vegetables is very high compared to organ meat from a farm animal.

Good question, I think the 50s or 60s probably. So, post-WW2. Early 1900's physical culturists still ate completely normal, then came the world wars, so it's probably after that.

Broccoli has a chemical in it called sulforphane which kills your cells. There's a video on yt of a guy who only eats broccoli for some.days and gets really fricked up

I wonder how easy it would be to selectively breed low-oxalate versions of crops

With broccoli there's no decisive answer whether it's low, moderate, or high in oxalate, since it depends on the species + picking method and other shit. Spinach is the biggest offender if you want to keep an eye on oxalates.
Even then it's not really sure what the link is between oxalates in food, oxalates in blood, urinary oxalate, and kidney stones. Oxalate is similar to cholesterol in terms of different studies getting to different conclusions.
