When did you first plateau in bench press? For me it was at 67.5kg. Can only do 3 sets of 10, 10 and 8.

I plateaued at 85kg for a while doing 3x5s, but I stayed with it and broke through eventually. Just hit 102kg for 5. Tried for 105 last session but could only hit 3 reps.

What did you do? Eat more?
I kinda went through the same doing 6-4-4 or 6-4-2 reps.
Got to juan repmax 100kg but then I cut down the food because I was getting chubby and my lifts went down.

That would have meant she is now involved with that lifestyle. One character made this mistake of helping Tony and it was the last time he was shown on screen, most likely got fired from his government job

Wrong and thats a cope, it was a clear right choice and she was too dumb to do it over some arbitrary moral bullshit, but the morals dont even work after the guy got out charge free because of a police frick up

Here's a few reasons why my bench press is shit
      >I'm a wristlet
      >I do bench press on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 3x8, if I do that, I do 3x10 next time, if I can do that, I do 3x12, then next time i up the weight 2.5kg
      >I don't count calories, I try to eat at a deficit because I want to lose belly fat (I'm skinny fat), sometimes I eat junk food though
      >My form is terrible and I cbf making sure its right

It doesn't matter when you plateau. All that matters is that you have a big chest.

i'm at 205lbs for 5x5 right now, whenever i up to 210 i tend to struggle. maybe i should use microplates.

    185lbs 5x5, did around 205 for a max.
Was doing stronglifts and giving 120% effort to squats... so bench suffered after.
also doing them twice to once a week didn't help.

I do weigh a lot but bench always felt like shit to me. Could do 125 5x5 on ohp at that time.

    >When did you first plateau in bench press?
205 3x5 on SS. It took me about 1 month to get to 210 3x5, then after that I kept on grinding 3x5 up to 225 instead of being smart and switching to 1x5

At 275lbs (guess that’s 125kg). What helped me get through it was weighted pull ups. I read the bench press section in Starting Strength and it talked about doing weighted pull ups to strengthen ancillary muscles to support the bench press movement. Worked for me.

      Are you guys taking creatine?

System that works for me to improve is slow but goes like this. Let’s imagine I’m you. Workouts below would be done every 4-6 days:

First workout I’ll do 70kg (after warming up with lower weights) is going to be 5 sets, 3 reps each set.

Second workout will be 70kg, 4 sets at 3 reps each. Instead of the 5th set (like last time) being 70kg, this time it will be increased to 72kg. I will shoot for 2 reps, but do a 3rd if I can. The logic here being that if I can do 3 reps at 70kg, I should be able to do 2 reps at 72kg.

Third workout: 70kg, 3 sets of 3 reps each. Last two sets are 72kg, done with 2 or 3 reps each.

The logic here is that you’re slowly transitioning to higher weight, one additional set at the higher weight per workout. It’s methodical and slow, but so is improving at bench press because the muscle groups involved are small.

Yeah I think I'm gonna have to be way more cautious and slow. I've always tried to rush it and power through 75 or 78 and I ended up doing 2-3 reps with shitty form and having really bad recovery afterwards.
Cracked down on my form around and moth ago, which cause me to go back to 60kg initially but now I can actually bench 70kg with perfect form

It’s the way to go if you want to make progress in my opinion. Trying to do a set or two on occasion that’s 10kg up from where you’ve generally been working isn’t going to do anything. Your body doesn’t start magically acting like it’s capable of jumping up to doing that higher weight consistently just because you did a couple sketchy sets at that higher weight. This is why I prefer training 3 rep sets. It builds good form and allows buffer room for if something goes wrong, like if you clip the posts on your first rep you can still muscle through the set. You gotta think of the whole process of improving at bench as though you’re laying bricks. You’re building the foundation for further improvement by being slow and methodical, not jumping around doing different weights and hoping you’ll improve.

Doesn't seem like a plateau to me. Can you do even one rep at 70kg? It's ok to go up and have fewer reps if higher numbers is what you want.
Also could look at diet if you want to maintain reps while moving up. Maybe need more protein.

Now I call everyone pussies and tell them to lift heavier so that I can share the gift of gains far and wide.

Did 1rm test 4 weeks ago before starting my spring program. 230lbs. Started at 60%1rm(140) progressive overload to 80%1rm (185) for 3x12. I’ll be hitting it before April is over. Should I reassess 1rm and start at the new 60% again or skip the test and keep going up? I rest for 3x the set time.

None of the stuff you listed is bench. You get better by doing bench, not by doing other stuff and wondering why you’re not getting good at bench.

Make bench your central exercise you aim to improve at. If you miss some gym sessions, when you go back, do bench, even if that’s what you did the previous time. Make everything else subordinate to bench. If you end up lacking consistency in your other exercises it doesn’t matter as long as you’re doing bench consistently. That means if you can only make it to the gym twice in one week, you’re doing bench both of those times. Everything now comes second to doing bench. Now you’re beginning to structure your life around improving at bench. You’re no longer fricking around in the evenings on your phone or watching TV after work. Instead, you’re at the gym doing bench. Is your family or are your friends trying to get you to hang out and do stuff in your free time when you should be benching? Guess what, you’re not going to hang out with them now. You’re going to be doing bench press instead. Your entire exercise regimen and life is now focused on making sure you hit bench or ancillary exercises for bench on days you’re not doing bench. You’re going to improve now, because why wouldn’t you. Your goal now is to improve bench. It’ll basically be impossible for you not to improve since it’s the core of your routine and life until you achieve the lift amount you’re trying to get to. You’re organizing the rest of your life around this one thing. It’ll be fricking impossible for you NOT to improve.

If you can only get to the gym 2-3 times a week, guess what, you’re going to be doing bench now for all of those. Stop focusing other stuff until you make the headway on bench that you want. Stop doing DL all the time; you only need to do it like once every 7-10 days. Instead glue yourself to the bench press. People will look at you and say “Geez, does that guy ONLY ever do bench press?” And the answer is yes.
