The whoosh effect. It's typical momscience, but it seems to have some roots in reality. Your body supposedly holds on the emptied fat cells waiting to be filled again once you feast on food. Why go through the process of destroying a healthy fat cell and then creating a new one when they can be reused? Once they are empty long enough they will be discarded causing a huge sudden drop in weight. At least that is how the momscience works. I don't think there is any solid research on it, but not like nutrition isn't a meme in the first place.

It’s impossible to loose a fat cell, it cant just be not currently filled but once you created it, it’s there for life

        >It's not my fault I can't lose weight! It's just my genetics that has created so many fat cells that are literally never never ever taken apart because the human body is an inefficient mess that likes to hold on to useless shit

Fat cells aren’t useless. They are literally the storage compartment for energy. It makes sense that if you build a storage depot that you keep it around rather than destroy it because the ability to store energy was an unreliable in our evolutionary past. It wasn’t like we had constant food sources, we’ve found bones of homosexual sapiens from over 300,000 years ago and agriculture started roughly 13, 000 years ago.

It makes sense to keep available storage around once it was built so you could just focus on storing energy and it rebuilding the systems built around it.

          overeating multiplies the cells

No, fat cells just get bigger. There os no evidence that eating excessively causes fat cell hyperplasia, only hypertrophy

This is a fricking meme, not even heart cells last for life. 10% of your fat cells get replaced every year. If they're empty there's no use in holding on to them and they'll get destroyed

Fat cells can only be removed through a medical procedure like liposuction. What you are saying I have heard as well, but instead of lipids the fat cells fill with water. What happens is there is a sudden shedding of the water that the fat cells have been holding on to which is the whoosh effect.

It is pseudoscience, but I’ve had that feeling before of sudden weight loss after weeks of effort.

yeah the way you explained it is what i remember reading correctly. fat cells don’t get destroyed. weight loss isn’t linear, and refeeds help to produce the whoosh effect

Yup. The most important fitness advice is simple: keep at it. Physics and the laws of nature based on it are a constant, they aren’t going to change because your body is has “different genetics”.

People watch too many cartoons and films based of cartoons these days that they think biology can resist the forces of that shape and run our universe. Newsflash: it can’t. If the fat is going away it isn’t because you are special, it’s because you need to keep going at it or you are doing something wrong or poorly.

If thats true, then you would've only been burning 500 calories a day. Are you a child, and did you spend all day, everyday, in bed?

I just started taking care of my body, just ended a 3 day fast today with basically no difference in weight since 72h ago. I'm hoping it's body recomp in progress.

    Lol. No.
Fasting means no eating anything, op. Guzzling cum for its nutritional content still had calories. You didn't fast. You just drank the calories.
