It's probably the opposite. Depressed people don't go to the gym because of low energy, and people with other mental issues are too busy sperging out to get fit. Likely has more to do with their diets than with lifting
>Depressed people don't go to the gym because of low energy, and people with other mental issues are too busy sperging out to get fit.
People who remain physically active and fit after childhood don't develop depression in the first place. Yes, diet is also integral to mental health but it's been known since the beginning of time that humans need physical activity to be happy and content with life.
This is true but if your car is out of gas you can't just drive it to the gas station, can you?
the reason its out of gas is because you were too lazy to go to the gas station
going to the gas station is still the solution, only walking takes a bit longer
I used to have poor mental health due to not taking care of my health and everything that comes with that. Going to see a psychiatrist only made things worse but exersicing and eating healthy helped my mental health, it was certainly difficult to when I could barely get out of bed but its the best thing

This just isn't true and on some level you know that
I've never tried any anti-depressants, but when my doctor put me on Ritalin, my lifts skyrocketed, my energy increased, and my weight decreased. All of these did wonders for my mental health.
But wait, it gets even better

Your reading comprehension isn’t very good. He’s just saying that people who are in good shape physically are probably in good shape mentally. Depressed people tend to not have the motivation to take care of themselves.
He’s not implying that exercise wouldn’t benefit people who are depressed.
By saying the true causal link is that mentally healthy people are the ones who exercise he's implying that exercise won't actually help people who are mentally unhealthy, thus deterring people from using exercise to help their mental health problems. Thus, a crab in a bucket.
Giving anti depressants to teenagers should be an automatic medical disbarment for md's. It's absolutely criminal
Imagine needing ~~*studies*~~ to "prove" that exercise is beneficial to mental health.

Anti-depressants is one of the easiest way to kick start going to the gym again.
The gym fixes my depression, but I'm not going to the gym if I'm depressed.

Confusing correlation with causation. People who are mentally damaged exercise less.
And crabs are happier in buckets.
Depressed people aren’t crabs in a bucket, anon. Get your idioms straight.
People suggesting that exercise can't help depression such as
are crabs in buckets.
