Which type of warrior across history was the most?

Warriors like the Spartans are memes. And everyone now knows after reading the latest literature in the field is that they had dad bods. Knights were strong but had zero cardio. Samurai had all around elite fineness levels. But modern operators have all the latest technology to train and boost performance.

There is nothing Black person tier about cattle raiding, that was the what Indo-European culture was predicted on from the beginning, only Christianity and urbanism changed this. When Rome pillaged and built roads for their former enemies it was a means of forming economic subservience, the benefits of their culture just helped smooth over the process. Bucks break themselves in most cases.

When raiding the point is to catch people off guard. Franks and other groups who had a solid cavalry tradition did well enough against Vikings because Vikings typically did not.have cavalry. They were maritime raiders with typically exceptional infantry and single combat abilities for the time, which is why they like prior Germanic migrations were sought after for specialized roles that involved infantry and personal guards and the like.

        obvious burger bias.

I also think Deadliest Warrior had severe burger bias because they kept making Native Americans, revolutionaries and cowboys win. They also had SWAT winning over GSG. However, they did make green berets lose to Spetsnaz, and I don't know if this is just the format of the show but they made US Army Rangers barely snatch a victory over North Koreans. I don't think anyone would call bullshit on the army wiping the floor with NK soldiers.

It was unironically Spartans, or at least Hellene Hoplites in general. The Spartans ruled over a class of noncitizen freemen that was larger than their own population, and a slave population that outnumbered them 3 to 1. Every year the Spartan youths would hunt down the strongest slaves and kill them. Look up the feats the Athenians achieved at Marathon. Look up the what Hellenes achieved in Xerxes' invasion of Hellas. Hellenic warriors were used as elite mercenaries all over the near East, including as the imperial guard of the Egyptian pharaoh and regularly employed by Persian satraps. Under Alexander they went on to form the ruling caste of the near east all the way to modern day Afghanistan. Each city-state was a eugenics project. Rome was a eugenic warrior city-state in the same vein.

Half starved slaves with zero knowledge of war. This was actualy very common in antiquity.

I think Athens also had a larger slave population

Sparta dominated Greece militarily for like a century. No foreign army set foot in Laconia for like 300 years. Spartans were looked upon as the most superior infantry fighters in Greece, and Spartoi were used as judges and intermediaries by other Greeks because of their reputation for being morally incorruptible. Look up who won the Pelopennesisn War dipshit. Sparta's reputation isn't unearned, and if anything the movie 300 toned down a lot of aspects of their society, including their donination of a vastly more populous underclass

Only based on physical skill? In my opinion, in chronological order:
      >the Akkadians/Assyrians (first organized army of note took over a bunch of shit)
      >the Sea Peoples (helped cause the bronze age collapse)
      >Persian Immortals (elite fighting units of the largest empire of the time)
      >Spartans (meme or not, the men were basically bred for war and they won lots)
      >Macedonian phalanx units (literally took over the western world at the time)
      >The Huns (Atilla wasn't called the scourge of God for no reason)
      >Roman legionaries ( is right, the legions are directly responsible for the glory and fall of Rome)
      >Celts/Germanic etc (fought and eventually destroyed the western Roman Empire while being outclassed technologically and economically)
      >Rashidun Caliphate's Armies (Took over much of the middle east very quickly)
      >Crusaders (honestly the crusades were a failure but some of the armies held land/cites in very hostile territory for decades)
      >Mongols (you already know why)
      >Viking berserkers (dudes were crazy, there's a written account where a single one held back the entire advancing English army on a bridge by himself until they floated a guy in a barrel under the bridge and stabbed him in the balls with a pike)
      >English Longbowmen (changed warfare forever and those things are hard to pull man)
      >Knights of feudal lords (in popular culture for a reason, they had nothing to do but train)
      >Rajput's (India's warrior class for most of the medieval period)
      >Aztec Jaguars (elite forces of the most metal empire to exist)
      >Swiss mercenaries (fought in like every war in the early modern period)
      >Native American units (held off vastly superior forces for the better part of 2 centuries)

American units (held off vastly superior forces for the better part of 2 centuries)
they did NOT, they were demolished at every turn, the only thing that slowed down the settlers was the vast size of America compared with the population and infrastructure available to move further west.

Reasons why Indians weren't completely vaporized right away:
        1. population, europeans just didn't need to keep going west, they just removed indians as much as was needed
        2. infrastructure, similar to population they just moved indians out of the way to keep colonizing as much as was feasible with the transportation and roads they had available
        3. political will, believe it or not not everyone was onboard with slaughtering a less advanced race

push came to shove, european forces obliterated indians in every fight from the 1500s onward.

Modern athletes need hardcore PEDs just to come close to matching the natural abilities of the AVERAGE man of antiquity. The feminized sòyman of modernity that calls himself a "historian" copes and seethes so unfathomably hard at this fact that he'll call all ancient accounts fables before admitting that he is intensely biologically damaged and doomed to the fate of Pottenger's cats.

I disagree yeah okay these guys are big and they look like tan leather with shitty tattoos on it but a bunch of Zulu dyel's could run like 50 miles in a day and show up ready to rape and burn whatever was there when they got there. There's Indians with genetics that make their calves bigger than our thighs. Skinny manlets that don't need a lot of food and are okay with dying and being uncomfortable for years on end always wreck mentally ill gym monkeys that look like they know their way around the inside of a ladyboy, wearing $200,000 of gear.

It's impossible to make it through selection without becoming lean. You don't beat feet while humping 80+ pounds of shit for what equates to a series of ultramarathons broken up by brief periods of shift sleeping (if you get any) and still be able to maintain a 4k calorie diet. You've gotta carry all that food as well, and they wouldn't even let you take that much if you wanted to.

Modern "soldiers" are formed from degenerated modern weaklings.

Our modern Olympic gold-medalists still can't match the rowing feats of the average Olympians. Nor can our soldiers march even close to the same pace of the average Roman legion, even with PEDs.

        Anonymous

How do you know those feats are actually real though? Do you think Athenians were not only stronger, fitter, etc. but also more honest? Considering we have PEDs and far better knowledge of nutrition and training methods than the past, and considering the modern Olympians are setting records well beyond what any of their predecessors since the late 19th C were capable of. If the supposed decline in testosterone is so severe, why do modern Olympians mog 19th and 20th C ones so hard?

I'm not really convinced that there was much of a difference. Most of a soldiers time on campaign both historically and in the modern day is spent walking long distances while carrying heavy equipment. That just results in lots of varying body types that are more dependent on diet and genetics while having similar physical ability.

All you need to do to LARP as a knight/samurai/spartan/delta force operator/any other historical warrior is run and sprint regularly and be able to march 10+ miles a day carrying 50+ lbs of gear. Anything else is just a bonus.

One thing I have always wondered - Spartans were notoriously starved as boys, to the point that they had to steal food. I doubt that did much for their physical development

im currently training to be a spec ops zogbot. people think its hard but its really not. you just have to have a high tolerance for discomfort. the standard for rucking 12 miles is 3 hours. totally doable to make it in even less time. now add in the fact that you are cold and hungry and havent slept for 24 hours. you can do it but you will feel like death. i have mad respect for anybody who is a seal or a green beret but comparing them to the elite of ancient soldiers is bs. imagine being a spartan or whatever and all you get to eat is rice and beans for months while on a march. you dont even know what a fricking germ is so 1 in 10 die from disease they didnt even know about. you finally run into the enemy and half of you die but you win. then you commander decimates you because too many guys died. then you go home after years and eat rice ane beans and live in a mudhut. ancient warriors would laugh at green berets and seals.

    I’ve actually thought about and researched this a lot;
    >Ancient Greece/Sparta
They were all like 130lbs and 5’4, fit but tiny. They did work out all day though. Their marches weren’t very quick and almost none of them were professional soldiers.
    >Rome
Legionaries were probably less fit than Greeks, but more disciplined. Their marches were better, but gear was lighter than future troops (Greeks carried like no gear)
    >Middle ages/Knights
Poor diet, they were probably fairly jacked on the level of Greeks or Romans though.
    >Napoleonic soldiers
French Republic soldiers were leaps and bounds better than the average nation back during that era due to their marching speed, training, and trustworthiness (the average soldier back then was a press ganged criminal that would run away at the first chance)
    >modern troops
    I have to say I think modern western troops are unparalleled historically. This will cause a lot of seethe, but let me explain why;
    >pft standards
Most combat arms gays are running sub 20 three miles, consider that about a century ago the world record 5k was like 17 min, I could have unironically btfo of the Olympics back then on multiple events.
    >matching capability
I have legitimately carried 175 lbs of gear through steep mountains over 20 miles, I weighed less than my gear. In all of history no army has ever carried that much gear that distance. I know for a fact I would btfo out of Napoleon’s infantry (the best known to history since Alexander the Great, and they were on opium) who were doing 20 miles with like 50lbs of gear at best.
    >I was able to stay jacked af while doing this
Quite simply I’m definitely stronger physically than my ancestors and was repping 225x10x3 on bench and 300x10x3 on squat while I was doing all the above, all natty.
And I’m not even an SF gay, I was just a marine grunt crayon eater.
That being said, this was back in the early to late 00’s and the military is gay as AIDS now, so I don’t know anymore.

      Oh, just to be clear;

Probably modern special forces, but with that being said the standards for the typical grunt is far lower than what would be expected from the typical legionnairee. And with that being said I'm sure they'd be way tougher than any modern soldier shooting at towel heads from a mile away, riding around in armored vehicles and getting fed nutrient rich food 3 times a day.

As an ancient or medieval soldier you marched everywhere, you got food - sometimes. Often you ate what you could forage or steal. Your whole career was likely to be just being a soldier forever, roman legionnaires served for like 20+ years. And in a hand to hand fight you can bet that they would destroy any navy seal who thinks their super tactical knife skills will stop a roman with a gladius who drills with it every day.

And on second thought a WW2 soldier from pretty much any nation is far better than what we have today. Those guys were fricking hard as nails, there's a reason that they hold all the records for confirmed kills and aerial dogfights.

modern special forces get minimal if any knife training. knifing isnt the point if you have a gun. being quiet is a moot point because they can just request a quieter gun and the government will spend millions getting them. just look at the mk23 offensive handgun. (very sexu tbh) maybe early rangers of the 60s and 70s who got an ungodly amount of bayonets assault course training would stand a chance.
      >As an ancient or medieval soldier you marched everywhere, you got food - sometimes. Often you ate what you could forage or steal.
its not like you didnt carry food with you. foraging and stealing food was only necessary if you didnt liberate cattle or fish from the locals and were fighting in a long enough campaign. you have to remember that most of the legion's were made of of volatile plebs who would throw a fit and desert if they werent fed, paid, or promised plunder.
