What... By that logic we should never cut at all. Your body stores fat so that it can be used as energy in times of need. You regularly go through ketosis even on a carb based cut. When you feed on keto you usually lose ketosis temporarily unless you're drinking melted butter for energy. There's valid reasons to not do keto and to do keto, at the end of the day your weight is determined by CICO and protein intake is second in line for importance, neither are incompatible with keto.

You might try a short break from potatoes and other carbs to adjust your gut biome. Like a week of carnivore or something and then reintroduce them and see what happens. Worked for me when salad was giving me Issues
