        What... By that logic we should never cut at all. Your body stores fat so that it can be used as energy in times of need. You regularly go through ketosis even on a carb based cut. When you feed on keto you usually lose ketosis temporarily unless you're drinking melted butter for energy. There's valid reasons to not do keto and to do keto, at the end of the day your weight is determined by CICO and protein intake is second in line for importance, neither are incompatible with keto.

      The main downside of white rice is that it's super low in macro minerals. I personally believe one of the reasons Chinese love to add shitty vegetables to so many of their foods is to add minerals that the white rice is deficient in.

      So if you eat potatos, buckwheat, oats and millet instead, you would get more nutritional value and more alkaline minerals.

    it is solidly middle of the road in terms of being between good and bad. It's not actively hurting you but it's probably not contributing to your health either. It doesn't have spectacular micros but it has some, it's a starch, it's cheap, and non-perishable. While you could do better you probably couldn't do better for the price.

    If you eat huge amounts all the time, heavy metals can be an actual concern.
    Other than that, if it feels good then who cares? People have been eating steak and potatoes for decades and been fine, same for rice.
    Personally I feel better on a lowish-carb diet without rice, potatoes, pasta and bread (though homemade bread is still like crack) but everyone is different.

      You might try a short break from potatoes and other carbs to adjust your gut biome. Like a week of carnivore or something and then reintroduce them and see what happens. Worked for me when salad was giving me Issues

    so this thread has me a little confused. I'm about to start cutting to looksmax for the holidays because I don't care for the beach. Is white rice bad for cutting? It's my first year cutting so I don't want to frick things up but an anon earlier said brown rice is worse for you? Sticky says to eat brown rice but I hate the taste, but from lurking some people have said that the sticky is outdated and wrong about a lot of things. I'd rather eat white rice or no rice at all.

      - the only thing that matters is CICO; eat at TDEE-500 and literally any food will be good for cutting
      - if you want to squeeze out some extra cut gains, avoid or reduce gluten. If you want to squeeze out even more cut gains, avoid or reduce carbs entirely. neither of these options will make you lose weight any faster than your calorie deficit but they will do things like: drop your water weight, reduce your overall hunger levels, reduce puffiness in your face, make you look a little skinnier overall during your time on this diet

    I’m moronic so i don’t know if this makes any sense but couldn’t you just eat a reasonable portion of carbs so you’re body can use the sugar as energy and eat alot of protein and fat so your body can use that to repair itself and produce hormones etc. am I wrong here?
