I do. I am pretty good at it I think also. I was at this party recently and I was talking to a girl all night. She had such a big smile when I asked for her number at the end of it. When I asked her out the next day she suddenly said she wasn't interested in dating.
I went to a dance, spent the whole night having fun and dancing with another girl. Same thing.
I can't be so ugly and so bad if I can get them to like me in a matter minutes but it has no sticking power for whatever reason.
I think I am going to kill myself in a year or two. I just have no connection to anything anymore.

University of Chicago General Social Survey. They do it every year for the US population. You can look up what their exact sampling method is but the survey itself is huge and it is the most robust dataset on the US population in regards to almost everything. It is reliable data.

Self reported data doesn't actually deviate that much from reality and can be trusted.

Self reported data can easily be curated for reliable information, particularly in the question asking for the number of sexual partners.

thankyou anon ill give it a look over, the numbers just seem a bit odd is all. Are they counting sexual encounters as sexual partners?

            Anonymous

what do you mean by sexual encounters? Do you think that people might be chaste but doing oral all the time? If I remember correctly things other than penetration are still counted as sexual partners in the dataset.
Reality is that most people aren't into casual sex. They want real relationships with sex as part of them. All the talk about it comes from the minority of prostitutes running around(mostly because they are talking about what they are doing and most people don't talk about what they are not doing). The data seems to suggest to me that there is a small group of promiscuous women who are being shared among promiscuous men, similar to how many men used to use the same small pool of prostitutes in the past.

The designs and style choices used to be really kino. Now every hero pretty much looks the same with some derivative futuristic semi robotic armor with light beams and what not. Look at any old comic strip, the designs were simple, slick, cool, snappy and had more personality. Wish I could go back to that era tbh before cinema had to shit on it so much

Oh I can get even more deranged. Watch this:

Let's get into some whack shit to expound upon what I mean by asking for a sign. You didn’t ask but I want to write and you’re gonna be on the receiving end. You’re also going to read it, and when you say tl;dr everyone will know that you’re lying.

I may delusional or schizo, but praying is not a full on cope from loss taking the form of bargaining in this case. There is a reason I do this. The Christians say that He works in mysterious ways, and I believe that is true, but not strictly by taking Christian dogma on its face. Or even by having utter Faith. I’m saying humans literally can influence and converse with God, the Universe, the Basilisk, Deep Thought, whatever. For brevity’s sake, I’ll use the term God. There are connotations to this term which are not intended because I’m not talking specifically the Bible, believing Christgay stuff or performing those rituals associated with Christianity. The term is an attempt to describe a higher thing prone to abstraction. As the stoners say: “Everything is one, man.”

The messages from God are not often delivered directly, obviously, or immediately, but they are personal, and tailored to your experiences and perceptions at such time and place as when you need it. Think of all of your five senses, and how we to take them all individually and at face value. We hear a song lyric in passing, we see a color with a symbolic meaning, appreciate an artwork that evokes emotion inside our soul, feel a texture that reminds us of something, a friend in passing says something off the cuff. Generally it gets thrown into our short term memories and thrown away to make room for something else. We don’t think about it, because it’s all “junk data.” However it all adds up into one collective whole that where if you were imagining a radio, that jumble of sensation would be like tuning in to a specific frequency.

I get what you're trying to put out here gigachad, but the simplest solution is relative, not absolute unless you're quite versed in physical mathematics.

        Anonymous

The human mind is an antenna, capable of receiving these frequencies. Even transmit them through action and word, to the Universe at large. However it is incredibly taxing; mentally, and emotionally. Constantly worrying about it drains the batteries so to speak. Most people are tuned out and living with individual sensation and not collectively. It’s just hard to do so all the time so it gets rerouted into the subconscious, manifesting negatively as mental illnesses: anxiety, depression, phobias, complexes. There is a converse to this. Being tuned in and having that full battery can result in successes, useful introspection, manifestations of desire, and downright seemingly unfair entropic manipulations, even if we aren’t fully conscious to it. Call it relating to the whole npc meme. They’re not, they’re just people that aren’t and perhaps have never connected to the Divine.

We get many outcomes that are not desirable. We get many outcomes we *thought* were desirable and regret. We also get many shitty things that happen to us that turn out to be the best, most fulfilling things even though in the moment it’s just the worst. In simpler terms: we frick up and get fricked up all the time. Overthink it and run out of batteries, hamster at the noggin wheel fully exhausted. However God is not wrong, and has never been wrong, although we are blind to the greater implications and consequences of where He leads, hence hindsight being 20/20. Think of every time you messed up and went "oh I shouldn’t have done that" but you did it anyway. This is not a failure on God's part; merely you choosing to not listen to the signs around you, listen to your gut, or just not not understanding. Nothing wrong with that.

        Anonymous

In fact, that may still fail, but ultimately you should have learned something from the experience. Even if you still don’t fully know after that the right course of action, something in you will still shift how you think of probabilities regarding that situation. As a human, as a creature of free will, you 100 percent have agency over what you do individually, and in how you interact with the universe at large. Choosing to what we act or do not act on is like shuffling the cards in the deck of fate. In fact this whole thing is turning into a thesis on chaos magick and I’m not intending to go into it atm. I could go on forever.

This shit’s getting wordy. Following signs.

When I met her, I had found a quiet place without any electronics, distractions, or anything else that would get in the way, and just spoke. Talked about whatever was on my mind from good stuff to every anxiety and fear, and asked even the air around me to give me a sign, direction, or heck I’d settle for a compass. And it did, in a laughably literal way not very long afterward, and into one stupid event I follow right down to one butterfly effect. I met her from it, and her name is a pun, within a pun, and was a sign. I was tuned in and saw it immediately and said to myself this person will either be the greatest heartbreak of my life so far or the best thing that ever happened to me ever. She’s still both.

From more pragmatic standpoint, good luck is opening the door when opportunity knocks and that’s about 80 percent of learning anything or getting anything. I will direct you to a short article by Richard Wiseman called The Luck Factor. Just put what you want, what you NEED out there. With your voice and your actions. You don’t need a gf, you don’t need sex, you don’t need the world to like you, be rich, famous, fricking whatever. You’d be very surprised with how little might inspire you to make a massive change. You’d be even more surprised by what you realize that you need.

This is the most shocking thing I've come to realize 1.5 years after I started. I've always been easy to get along with for the most part, but ever since lifting it feels like people pay attention to me more, actually listen to what I say and take it more seriously, laugh harder at my jokes, etc. They wanna be around me more. They respect me as a man rather than just some dude and I think it's because the bar is set so low with your average guy today. Group of girls are throwing me a party for my birthday coming up, doing all the organization and decor and everything. This would've never been the case before.

What's amazing about being IST is that you don't have to go out of your way for other people to notice. It's not like drawing, or singing or playing an instrument where at the very least you have to bring it up during conversation. With lifting your body is your own display of your efforts. They don't have to see you actually lift to realise you're strong or fit. It's a passive perk present at all times

        Anonymous

I need to get fit already. Unbelievable how I didn't do shit with my body for 29 years because I thought it was hopeless. Making improvements but still a long way to go. Especially gotta stop being skinny fat.

And it's the exact opposite when you're fat.

When you're a fatty it colors literally everything you do in the eyes of others. Everything you do, you do fatly.

So even simply not being fat feels like a passive perk when you've been fat a long time

I've been trying to work my way out of skinnyfat and I am making... well changes at least. I have to admit my body looks a bit weird after 6 months of training.
My chest is more defined but I would still say skinny. Whereas before I had no muscle definition there, I now have visible pecs just pretty flat ones. Still, there's definition.

My arms are thicker but still skinny. They were really skinny before so progress. My stomach seems to stay the same size but I do feel bigger abs underneath the fat. My ass became toned and round and I've got strong legs. My legs and ass definitely changed the most. I definitely need more upper body size.

How long until I can see some significant change and be happy with my body?

What do your routine and diet look like? Judging by your post it seems like you are focusing too much on compounds and don't isolate as much as you should

        Anonymous

What the frick? How did you know? Yeah I've been mainly doing compounds since I'm a total beginner and needed strength (just followed a guide). Basically ICF. Diet is usual bulk stuff. I eat a lot of peanut butter, chicken, bananas, milk etc. It's all good stuff so I'm at a surplus of at least 500 calories. Protein is 1 protein for 1lbs of lean bodymass.

          Anonymous

I've seen your example too many times to count. I don't know if it was this place that steered you towards strength training and bulking as a beginner but that is no way out of skinnyfat mode. I know because I was skinnyfat just like you. My advice is to add more isolation work, increase the volume, and decrease lower body frequency. Your best bet is a 3 day hypertrophy routine until you hit 1/2/3/4, you'll still see strength gains (albeit slower) and you'll pack on mass much faster than you normally would on a lower rep range strength routine. Do not fall for dogmatism and absolutism, if you want to grow a muscle isolate it. As for the diet, cut until you see your abs. Try to keep the protein intake high, chicken, cheese, greek yogurt, ditch the peanut butter. It's better to be satisfied with your progress than to adhere to internet rules

            Anonymous

Hm fair enough. I've been on ICF for 6 months anyway so I might as well move on since it's supposed to be a 12 week program anyway. Will take a look at some hypertrophy routines.
Hopefully I can get a decent one that does 3 times a week since 4 times is not something I can do at the moment. Thanks brohulk.

Deadlifts are notoriously shit for hypertrophy. Online lifting discussions are heavily centered around the compounds and strength training. If your goal is mass and looking good you should not limit yourself to strength training. I practice compounds at least twice per session, but you have to do more than compounds if your goal is to look good.

Is there anything to this idea I had recently of starting a session with a single low rep sets of compounds (e.g. 1x5 bench) followed by high volume of isolation exercises that target the same muscles (e.g. 3x8 skullcrushers and flyes)? My idea was that doing the compounds first would damage the muscle more due to the heavier weight.

                Anonymous

A single rep is too low and risky. Try 4-6 reps for compounds and 3x8-12 for the isolations that follow. It's good to open your session with a compound because it should be the most taxxing

Glad I went, honestly. Not only feels good, but I seem to keep going at the same time as one of the hottest women I've seen in person. Maybe when I break past skinnyfat mode, I'll go talk to her. But for now, the view is enough to help keep my spirits up.
Remember bros, don't lift solely for women. But a fool ignores beauty when presented to him.

    >Less than a year for people to notice you lift
Three weeks of just doing push ups and deep knee bends and I've noticed women smiling at me and being more engaging.

You want a white pill? If you're already fat, just looking slightly leaner makes people treat you better than they would have if they just met you at the new, sightly improved shape. It's so easy, just try for a month or two. If you can overcome the instant gratification thing people are so easily influenced to treat you well.

1/2/3/4 is my main goal, i got my 3plate Dl on my birthday last week, want to make it till beginning of summer but its gonna be hard, i dont progress as fast as id like, and dont want to baloon my bf% either. In my gym i saw 2people lifting around that and squatting 3plates. But you need to realise that if you dont work manual labour ppl are incredibly weak and that is what motivates me. Yeah, still he was doing yard work, could barely move unassisted and still insisted on doing everything he could up until the end. Took walks until he could no longer walk and then just zoomed around in his mobility scooter to atleast get some fresh air and also to tend to the garden.

That was also pretty big kick in the balls, what damn excuse did I have for being fat? Employment and the sort can be hit-or-miss even if you do try but your body is yours and no amount of bullshit is going to change that or what you let it turn into.

This is what happens when relationships are commodified, potential partners are reduced down to objects. Women shop around for the best partner like they're shopping for the best car - waiting for sales, test driving, or whatever other type of analogy you want to use. Men do the same thing - don't trick yourself into thinking you're better. I know women who are decent kind women who are constantly ghosted because they're not a stacy or whatever.

So what's this board for? You can distill most of this board into a few criteria: one half is spamming the same webms in /fph/ threads, the same dudes posting /cbt/ threads, frogposters, how to get women, and roids/supplements, blackpill chimpanzees that never got the banana, and some dickhead posting about his unfortunate hairline that doesn't fricking matter. The other half are general queries that can be resolved by reading the sticky.

If among any of this that I could keep anything on this board forever, it is the whitepill thread. It deserves to thrive. Only the whitepill thread gives a shit about you making it no matter what.

Im 30+ years old. Im download this app of 30 days of blablabla. Just 10 min/day. This is ok or I need rest?

If it's only ten minutes a day there's almost no way you should need a rest. Also that sounds like some kind of shortcut to sound easy, and there are no shortcuts, and no easy ways out.

This, the only worthwhile stuff on the this board are these kind of threads about actually making things better in your life and getting more fit.
They should just outright ban all blackpill-morons and other doomer c**ts that gave up before even trying to make things better and worse, actually spend time and effort to put others down and to make them quit too.

        [...]
I have a sedentary life. Just want to make some exercises at home.

Then 10 minutes a day is where you start. You probably don't need rest, just keep going and exercise every day to start making a habit out of it.

I really enjoy strectching, yoga, etc. With this kind of activity, can I improve my bad posture and have a healthy body? I dont talk about six packs, just a good looking body.

Schizo yoga art anon here. Yoga, unironically. A yoga mat is like 15-20 bucks, and heck I used a similarly sized rug for awhile. Even then you still don't even need one, it's mostly to kinda keep you aware of the space you're using, which translates into awareness of your form.

Plenty of practices are posted for free online like youtube, although I pay for an app. It's a far better workout than it gets credit for in general.

kek I'm not the guy you replied to but I did yoga for around 20 years, can confirm it's a solid workout and if your teacher is good you'll learn a lot about yourself as well. Everyone should start the day with a downward dog, great stretch and always humbling even if you're flexible

It's very therapeutic. You say did, so it sounds like you quit. Why?

Not many yoga anons post on IST so while I have you: My goal is to get to arm balances by the end of January (doing 4 days a week for an hour currently) and make it to doing the splits by the end of the year. Is this a feasible goal at that rate? I'm also 30, will age be a factor there?

              Anonymous

I apologise for the long post but some context is needed.

I did yoga between the age of 5 and 25, I started because I wanted to work as a contortionist in a circus, so 99% of my flexibility I got from doing moronic shit at a very young age. I quit because later on I got into Kryia yoga, even travelling to India and all but it was way too cultish and it left a bad taste in my mouth so to speak. Didn't do anything yoga related until last year.

Arm balances are absolutely doable by the end of January, picrel is a great place to start, I can't do anythingflashy because I got fat and you lose the technique surprisingly quickly.

As for splits I was always shit at them, I could never perform a real split with the "inside" of my ankles touching the ground, I'd like to say I've never really cared about them but no, something in my tendons make them exceedingly hard and I never put in the work.

As for the age question I realise more and more it matters for flexibility but to be fair I did frick all between the age of 25 and now (I'm 33) so that plays a massive role in my case

                Anonymous

Alright cool, I'll work at this rate then and start seeing if I can pull off the simpler ones. My balance is getting way better, can do half moons and dancers without floundering, and my touchdowns are far more graceful. I was never very flexible. A half split is mostly fine but even a normal fold is a test on the backs of my legs, even less so on the back. I'll keep at it though, hope you get back to it.

            Yoga is satanic

              Anonymous

Bending, breathing, and stretching the body that God gave you within its natural limits cannot possibly be satanic unless the fact that wearing your Sunday Best makes it difficult to do so. Way I reckon, the more we do with the body, the closer we are to Him because we are not wasting the potential of the gift we were given. It doesn't matter where the practice originated, that place was still created and granted by God, therefore subject to His will, even if that will takes on the guise a culture we are unfamiliar with. In this case the yogic practice.

              >b-but India and Hinduism
Every god associated with Hindu is only an aspect/personification of a larger whole; AKA the Godhead. Or just God if that's too many syllables. As my very Catholic grandfather once asked me when I was young and I something was too hard and too big of a project:
              >Anon, how do you eat an elephant?
              >One bite at a time.

We separate all the faces of God in order to better digest the larger whole. We do this because we too are aspects of Him. No matter the culture, these are all prevailing themes. Compassion, wrath, sadness, joy, victory, defeat, wisdom, the fool, everything you have ever experiences so too has God. Thou art God, and therefore you too show his face every single day.

Basically you're just God being an idiot again. Go fricking introspect.

                NTA, but correct.
                >Every god associated with Hindu is only an aspect/personification of a larger whole; AKA the Godhead. Or just God if that's too many syllables. As my very Catholic grandfather once asked me when I was young and I something was too hard and too big of a project:
No, they are demons that entice men to idolatry, which is a sin of infidelity equivalent to adultery and which severs your communion with God through His one and only intermediary, the Logos, incarnated into Jesus Christ, who hung on the Rood and rose on the third day, trampling death by death.
                >Thou art God
                This is quintessential Satanism.

The problem with yoga is exactly this. Used in the bastardized and commercialized manner most Westerners use it, it is perfectly fine. It's just stretching. The Indians do not have some sole ownership of certain movements, no matter what they used them for. Ultimately God created them and it is He who owns them. The problem arises when yoga becomes more than mere excercise. It can then become a gateway drug to false New Age beliefs, which are incompatible with Christianity. As such, don't do "yoga". Seperate those movements which are good for excercise from the baggage of oriental pseudo-mysticism and incorporate them into a stretching routine, while you leave those movement and practices that do not benefit the body behind.

Growing your dick is not only possible but easier than you think. There are currently several products on the market approved by the fda with studies to back them up that can grow penis length. Girth growth is also possible and seen in priapism patients who often see a permanent increase in penile tissue growth after suffering from it. Girth exercises basically induce a kind of controlled priapism which will lead to growth over time.

Started dating a basket case and it was all worthless. None of the hard work was worth what I was working for. Fell into a depression. Spent 5 years celibate and lost my gains got fat again. No passions or anything in life.
This year I broke the dry spell and started dating a girl who chased me for years. Hate throwing the term around but she was a massive narcissist and after ending that relationship I’m left wondering what the fricking point is.
I want to lift for me. Maybe I don’t love msyelf, but when I was virgin who never even kissed a girl the motivation and delusion of guaranteed pussy was such a strong driving force for me to do what many told me was impossible. I feel lost. I keep getting a routine started cutting then a few weeks later fall off again for a few weeks then repeat and I’m spinning my wheels on that.
I understand it’s just discipline but I need something to get me going for the first few months so I can ingrain the habits to some degree at all… frick I hate myself and my life. All I can think of is
    >What, I get lean and get my gains back so I can.. meet a selfish entitled count of a woman who makes me regret doing all that work?
What’s the fricking point. Best I get other than women by being healthy is living in this hell for a decade or two longer. Maybe I can feel like a silly homosexual because I have abs and get mires at the beach. So fricking what.

I hate that this is how I feel. I WANT I NEED my groove back. Lifting for pussy is fricking moronic. But frick me idk how else to get myself in gear. Yeah I should do it because I’m supposed to, but why?

I left it out but I actually recently found god. Never thought I’d be saying that. The only true reason I can think to keep my body healthy and strong is because it’s what he intended. God never wanted us to be fat lazy slobs.

But I’m still stuck in the same hole. I’m letting god and myself down and it’s like I’m in able of just sticking it out until results come.

I'm not doomposting, I believe in a higher power, but thinking that a certain type of faith is inherently better than anyone else's is missing the point of faith itself, besides you should gather strength and determination from yourself not some institution that was created by weak men for the explicit purpose to control people, your relationship to god is yours and yours alone.

I need a kick in the ass.
Got super fit under the self sold delusion taht it would get me pussy. Lost over 100lbs and gained 40th a of muscle I na year. Started getting laid.

You need to learn how to love lifting, but first, you need to clear from your mind your misconception of health. The consequences of health, which isn't merely the absence of disease but also proactive vitality, virility and physical capability, do not lie far off in the future, in the twilight years of your life. It is an all-encompasing condition which you rejoice in the present. In all things, good health allows you to do it better, more vitally. Health influenced our experience of life in general. Especially in old age, it is not just that the healthy live longer, but that the unhealthy have a greater prolonged period of ill health before the die. Without excercise, you grow decrepit and infirm, unable to move, stuck indoors. It's a pathetic existence. They slowly decay over the course of decades. With excercise, you avert the worst aspect of old age for as long as possible, until you more quickly fade when your time is come.

What first opened my eyes the nobility of bodily excercise were the spirited words of Aristophanes:
          >Yet certainly shall you spend your time in the gymnastic schools, sleek and blooming; not chattering in the market-place rude jests, like the youths of the present day; nor dragged into court for a petty suit, greedy, pettifogging, knavish; but you shall descend to the Academy and run races beneath the sacred olives along with some modest compeer, crowned with white reeds, redolent of yew, and careless ease, of leaf-shedding white poplar, rejoicing in the season of spring, when the plane-tree whispers to the elm.

According to Plato--who was himself a wrestler (hence the name Platon, meaning broad, refering to his shoulders) and a gymnasiarch, i.e. the leader of a gymnasion, that being his Academy--the highest reason for excercise in the gymnasia, was not the beautification or strenghtening of the perishable body, though that is a noble goal as well, but the creation of harmony within the immortal soul. 1/2

You should therefore see lifting as a way to cultivate virtue, to become the gentleman or superior man, what Hellenes called the kalos kagathos. Plato saw excercise as intimitely tied specifically to thumos, or spiritedness. In other words, what is recognized here is the link between physical excellence and moral power. And it is this, physical excellence, which philosophy enjoins us to cultivate; it being a sort of all-rounded physical supremacy. It is the highest form of physical culture, as Plato critized the athletes who, specializing in one specific field so that they may exceed and therefore win in the compititions, neglected other aspects of their physiques. That is to say, we are speaking of an ideal of the generalist as opposed to the specialist. We are to optimize every aspect of human performance. In my opinion, a robust body created through bodybuilding is an ideal foundation for this.

I'll leave you with these words by Hans Surén, an interwar writer of the Lebensreform movement, specifically in it's expression through the nascent freikörperkultur, which I also find exremely invigorating:
              >Sport with its contests; exercises with their gymnastic temper; rhythmic education with the joys of self-experience; tension and relaxation of the body, athletics, walks, sunbaths, and whatever manifold forms man’s endeavours may assume —all must be a quest for the perfection of the whole body. This perfection, so far as it is made physically evident, can only be realised and experienced in Nature. All views and all paths are right if they are inspired by this true endeavour. From knowledge of this springs the Olympic spirit—may it be a symbol to us! The age of Olympus is dead and gone, and it would be a mistake to wish the age revived. Yet as a symbol this culture of physical and mental health may serve us, whose achievements of maturest perfection in all fields gave eternal models and examples to aftertime. The quest for harmony and perfection is bound up with iron Iaws; it is man’s task to adapt himself to these. The weal or woe of a people depends on the physical and moral condition of every member; as was recognised by Lykurgus, the lawgiver of Sparta, and by Solon the Athenian. Thus leaders wrote thousands of years ago, and dealt accordingly; they and their people seeking health, vigour, and moral power in the Gymnasion, in the Palæstra. The methods of education will undergo change; the State may intervene or the individual act on his own initiative; yet fixed and unchanged through the ages shall stand the ideal of the soul-inspired body in all its magnificence of Nature and sunlight—the gymnast; the sun-man.

Friends, the thread will soon hit bump limit. Most things considered, it was a good thread. It'll be a short while before I post another one. In the meantime, cherish your moments in the gym and outside of it. Lift well, eat well, rest well. Enjoy the holidays and keep true to the promises you make for the new year. All of us can make it
