I lift un a pure white room that has been sound proofed with a small mic and speaker system that echos every sound I make to simulate the hypertrophy time chamber.
i listen to JRE podcast tbh. Since a long time ago i stopped listening to music when working out and it was because Goggins said it was cheating. Cant believe i listened to Goggins but it was a nice advice, i focus more.
Music convinces me I can do things, why would I ever stop?
Plus, if I take my earphones out, I have to listen to whatever black garbage theyre blasting I'm the gym.
I do sometimes choose storm or ocean sounds though.
For me it's so strange. People wearing headphones or earbuds in public used to stand out as weirdos that needed to isolate themselves from their surroundings. As late as 2016 people were still getting roasted for wearing airpods outside because of how much they stood out. Now it's like people glue them in and can't take them off for anything.
I sometimes go for runs without music and surprise myself with how I perform. Running a race without music can be fine since you're just focused on passing people and keeping pace with someone at the same skill level as you, but solo maintenance runs without music end up being slower than normal (which can actually be a good thing since you're more relaxed and can get more mileage in)
if you're in a gym, going with headphones depends entirely on what music the gym is playing and if you want to block it out or not
I end up taking mine off because I get a headache halfway through my workout then it just became a habit. What I actually crave is silence. I want some fucking SILENCE not just constant ambient noises from TVs and smoothbrains playing rap music in their apartment like their life is a movie.
Sometimes I put on headphones without music just to block out the shit-tier EDM they play at my gym.
Me. I don't like music. Gives me a headache. Don't get why everyone listens to it all the time. Would drive me mad.
YEAH BRO WE FIGHTING DEMONS HAHA
No really though music fucks with my focus, I'm too adhd to pay attention to both at once.
I hate trying to find music I'm actually in the mood for while also trying to focus on lifting. Id rather just stare into the void in between sets
Me.
I don't give a fuck. There's a fucking zumba class when i lift in my gym, thank God. It makes zoomer change their schedules and the gym get empty.

fuck music, only girls like it

You are a gigantic gay.
I used to be, might go back. Shitposting on the gym WiFi us enough

I don't listen to music cause I have my personal trainer to listen to.
May be a weird reason but I feel I have less control over my breathing with headphones and music, it fucks with my head.
Yeah you're trying to synchronize your shit to the sounds you're hearing.
Yeah I don't wear headphones and don't mind the music they play at my gym because I'm not autistic and actually enjoy life.
I love listening to music so no, I won't stop.
Helps me not listen to random shit other people might be saying too.
I prefer speakers so I can hear the plates and not have sweaty ears.
Headphones fall off when I bench
>use earbuds
plebe, I need sound quality
IEM's around 100usd are pretty good.
You can also flip the headband so it's on your forehead.
i train at home naked watching spongebog and soccer games while doing gutural grunts at the end of every set
gymcels could never
Oh my god that's hot
what's the point if she can keep her mouth closed?
just /nomusic/ ain't gonna save your dopamine receptors kiddo.
>no music
You'll change your mind if you ever start lifting heavy
I use earplugs
Right here. I don't feel the need to consoom media at all times. If I want to listen to music I can sit down at home and actually pay attention to it.
Only one person in the gym who I've seen consistently /nomusic/ and that's my gym crush
Either heavy metal, boomer rock, or 90s drum and bass for me. Also I will shitpost here in between sets sometimes

nomusic chad checking in. also home gym master race. just me and the weights in a silent garage. perfection.
Me, I usually just listen to podcasts or yt vids, listening to music just makes me feel weird for some reason
Most of the time I listen to music but sometimes I don't feel it and listen to history videos instead
i watch always sunny while lifting

based.
gregorian chads keep winning
I can't wear headphones when running, but lifting I prefer my own music to the shitty music they play in the globogym. Plus it helps me ignore people.
Ive been listening to country while lifting then flicking over to trance while cardio. Feels nice man
I have never really gotten into music. I just listen to some rap songs because I like the beats
