Theodore Roosevelt. The guy's biography reads like a guide on ass kicking.

Kennedy was a very sick man. Mind you, it just made everything he did that much more impressive. Like, imagine hearing that an Olympic sprinter did the 100m in 13 seconds. You'd say that's a shit performance for an Olympic sprinter. Now imagine if he only had one leg. It would blow your fricking mind. That was Kennedy. He should have been a bedridden mess. He was an ass kicking president.

JFK was a junkie addicted to crystal meth. It wasn't as impressive as you think.

Kennedy had a bad back, It's what got him killed
      Probably Obama honestly.

By modern standards, probably Ford because he played football and went into the military. Some of the earlier presidents were probably fit too in the sense that just living was tougher in the old days.

      Ford also played at UMich

Kennedy was probably the least fit president ever, and by quite a lot. He was literally a cripple during his time as president. Read about it.

Probably Teddy Roosevelt. He overcame asthma with turn of the century exercise regimens like "jogging up mountains" and did sport boxing. Abe Lincoln also did hillbilly wrestling and was regarded as quite good at it but him being very tall probably contributed to that more than anything.

A lot of presidents were very fit in their younger years, but as far as I know TR is the only one to continue living that way later in life, including during his presidency. Dude refused to stop boxing people in the White House until he got a detached retina for it.

washington was described as well muscled. he was also a proficient wrestler and outwrestled 7 men consecutively at the age of 47. there are some contested stories about him throwing stones and iron rods for great distances

Washington and Teddy are some of the baddest dudes we ever had. Teddy overcoming his breathing complications by sheer force of will and then continuing his speech after being shot makes him the fittest.

Teddy was fricking based. Sickly child, said frick that and busted ass until he wasn't. Led the Rough Riders. Went on all kinds of adventures. "Man in the Arena" speech at the Sorbonne. Got shot in an attempted assassination and just carried on and finished his speech before getting medical attention.

He also won like a million duels. I don't know if he was the most physically fit but he was definitely the most badass. He also invented the presidential cabinet and just hired all his friends.

Ford played football at Michigan. I imagine he was pretty fit.

Bush Sr. played baseball at Yale.

    Nixon was an athlete.

Regan was into fitness and working out.

Washington, Lincoln, and Teddy all had reputations for strength and fitness. Washington was a good bit taller than the average 1700s colonist (which were, in turn, taller than the average Br*t) and was said to have displayed great physical strength at times while leading his troops during the Revolution. Lincoln was hugefrick tall by contemporary standards at 6'4" and was an accomplished wrestler during his youth and schooling. Teddy, plagued with asthma, rejected the advice of his childhood doctor and took to rigorous fitness regimes as a means of managing his attacks. His doctor presumed this would kill him as I recall. Teddy had a particular fondness for martial arts of all sorts.
