why am i not supposed to give up?

i have no talent or skill at lifting. i suck at it. even though ive been lifting for a few years im still small and weak.
everyone says not to give up, keep lifting, etc
Why? whats the point in doing something you suck at? whats the use in trying hard at something you will never be good at

Working on your weaknesses is great to become well rounded. Surely you've gained basic physical confidence and are much better off for it.

And how are you lifting? How's your intensity, time in the gym, sleep, diet, does your program allow you to truly work a muscle and have adequate recovery? I find it impossible to believe you've been lifting consistently for years without any gains at all, even if it's knowledge gains.

I also go to failure. I also spend 90 minutes in the gym. I only get like 5 hours of sleep a night though. Over 200g of protein??? I probably get like 120g of protein.

there is no talent involved in executing a lift correctly.

There is talent in learning how to fire the neurons in your brain properly to contract certain muscles in sequence. For someone who has never done it learning to develop a mind-muscle connection to certain muscles can be as hard as learning to walk again for people with nerve problems or spine problems.

there is talent in having a natural affinity for physical exercise. some people are just better at recruiting muscle fibers for a lift.
some people eat whatever they want and get hench. maybe not talent, but something else

first off, you start the tread with a magic girl anime pic which says more about you than your post
second, I'm 99% sure you're doing something wrong if you don't grow. bad routine, not eating over TDEE, not getting 1g/lb of bodyweight protein, etc. everyone starts doing something wrong, however the difference is they try to fix it.
third, lifting isn't just about results, although they are of course most important. it's also about the dopamine rush.
fourth, not giving up is about not being a moron. you're a squishy type who won't feel angry when confronted with difficulty, and you won't use your anger to overcome it. you don't ask questions, you don't do research, you just give up instead of raging and nothing means anything to you.
so go back to wallowing in depression and watching tranime i guess, not like anyone cares. be the 90% of losers who get filtered by lifting and never make it

Get fat and unhealthy and find out why you should care.
I won't tell people I work out since I don't want to be mistaken for a beginner and told to keep at it even though I've been consistent for 6 or 7 years. But it's pretty easy to see the differences between a person who lifts regularly and one that doesn't (ROM, endurance, etc), especially long term but that comes with age I guess and you sound pretty young.

          >I won't tell people I work out since I don't want to be mistaken for a beginner and told to keep at it even though I've been consistent for 6 or 7 years
what is the point in lifting for almost a decade just to look like you've literally never been in a gym before and telling others that you don't lift to avoid judgment?

General health, it's in my post. And I'm ottermode now and look far better than when I began so it's not a total waste like you're implying. I'll keep looking young and healthy while others slowly fall apart.
I had complaints similar to yours early on and hit some barriers that forced me to adjust my goals and adopt a longer-term mindset but if you think you're better off doing nothing despite knowing that regular lifting and exercise is good for you, then go ahead, but I won't tell you to quit like you want.

    >i have no talent or skill at lifting. i suck at it. even though ive been lifting for a few years im still small and weak.
Same here. I don't care because i enjoy i doing and i will keep doing it. My results been pretty damn subpar and most people that join the gym if they train properly and consistently get stronger then me in a manner of like 8-12 months. I don't care, i'll never be pro, never compete (maybe i will down the line just for the fuck of it if i keep making gains) but like i said i enjoy it. I enjoy the process, i enjoy the results, i enjoy the theory, the programming, the planning, the exectuion of a plan, the execution of a lift, a workout. I love the bump, the burn, the pain. I love cardio too i love running and i will keep doing it. I will stay in shape and i will stay active and healthy. Its terms of mogging i don't really give a shit anymore about that but i am still stronger bigger and than 99% of the untrained population.

    >everyone says not to give up, keep lifting, etc
    >Why?
People don't want to see other people give up. People like to see others go after it and stick to their goals. Its inspiring, it makes others sticks to theirs, its motivating, we humans need to work for something good to keep us healthy and sane and enjoy that others are doing it that keeps our spirit up and we feel a sense of relief that some people are still trying.

If you really don't like lifting then stop doing it so much, find something other to do. But keep training a little, it keeps you healthy, makes you age more gracefully, reduces chances of death for any and all disease and sickness.

What is the goal of doing the thing? Why are you doing it? You have to answer that question. I doubt it's "to get good at it". Even if you did get good at it, then what? Then you've won? Then you've reached the point of being good at it? What does it matter?
