Why America got Fat

We eat more Sneed oils, grains, and sugar.

We also eat more calories in general.

So if we ate less food altogether, as well as less Sneed oils, grains, and sugar, we'll be thinner.

The source is some garbage bullshit

Here are raw numbers that show per capita consumption is up >500kcal per capita since 1970, mostly driven by big increases in fat and grain consumption, with noteworthy increase in sugar, too.

          https://ers.usda.gov/amber-waves/2005/november/us-food-consumption-up-16-percent-since-1970/
          And
          https://www.statista.com/statistics/1088628/daily-per-capita-calories-by-product-us/

Sugar is often taken as the scapegoat when in reality oil and grains are each twice as influential as sugar. But it's obviously not specific to PUFAs or vegetable oils or whatever moronic conspiracy shit people spam around here. It's just more of the shit being sneaked in everywhere.

They are the same stats but from 1999 to present instead of 1970. Calories are stagnant but obesity keeps increasing.

            >Sugar is often taken as the scapegoat when in reality oil and grains are each twice as influential as sugar.
The cause of obesity is carbs. Sugar is a carb.

Powdered carbs are more fattening than unpowdered. Rice is traditionally eaten unpowdered.

Sugar and flour are most fattening. Asians have obesity and diabetes now from eating more sugar and flour.

                > Asians have obesity and diabetes
That's largely due to the increase of fat from meat/cheese in the last couple of decades, traditionally what they have always eaten is carbs and little meat/cheese but that has shifted in the last couple years

It's all calories, there's studies who show no difference whatsoever if either you go low carb or low fat, so long there's calorie deficit there is weight loss

                Anonymous

That study told the low carb group to eat as many carbs as they want. It also eliminated carbs in the high carb group, especially sugar and flour.

At the end both groups were eating basically the same diet so they had the same results. Not surprising.

Pic related is a better study. The group eating unlimited calories lost more weight than the group restricting caloires. That's because the deciding factor is carb consumption.

lol no, sugar is not the cause of it. There's nothing magical about sugar that causes you to get obese. Seed oils however, which have seen a MASSIVE rise in consumption, are known endocrine disruptors.

Seed oils definitely aren't the cause of obesity.

I've watched everything from Tucker Goodrich, Chris Knobbe, Peter Dobromylskyj, and Brad Marshall. Their arguments fall short.

Everything about obesity can be explained by carbs. The seed oil arguments always ignore key facts like the difference between powdered and unpowdered carbs.

You know those studies showing increased death eating seed oils? The seed oil groups didn't gain weight. Very clear proof. Seed oils kill but don't make you fat.

I've never heard of any of those people. Again, it's not up for debate if seed oils are endocrine disruptors. The data on it is overwhelming.

                >Everything about obesity can be explained by carbs

Explain in a physiological manner what is magical about sugar that causes obesity.

                > The seed oil arguments always ignore key facts like the difference between powdered and unpowdered carbs.

The seed oils arguments don't look at carbs, period. Why would they? The seed oil arguments look at what seed oils do to you on a biochemical level. Tell me what carbs do on a biochemical level that cause obesity.

                >You know those studies showing increased death eating seed oils? The seed oil groups didn't gain weight.

Yes I'm aware of that observational study and how all observational studies are fricking trash.

By the way, maybe you should actually fricking LOOK at the data coming from China of what they eat over time. The biggest increases have been meat, and vegetable oils, as a % of their diet.

"Excessive" is relative to the amount used in daily activities. Being sedentary and eating the same amount as an active person makes one a fat overweight lazy piece of shit. its really that simple.

imagine a seed has a tenth of a millileter of oil inside it. You'd need 50 of them for a teaspoon, 150 for a tablespoon, and 9600 of them for a liter. It's condensing the nutrition extremely densely.

They are, and vegetable oil is good for you. Companies are putting vegetable oil in processed food because they care about you and want you to be healthy. It's just a really fortunate coincidence that so much vegetable oil is produced in America via basedbeans, making it much cheaper to use. But again, they wouldn't be doing any of that if it weren't good for people.

Really it is the american people letting everyone down by not watching their portions. They're lucky enough to have industry replace saturated fat with heart healthy basedbean oil in nearly everything and what do they do? Act like a bunch of spoiled gluttons and eat too much of it.

Absolutely moronic. As you can see here the Hadza have a higher TDEE than any Market economy males of their weight, and a comparable TDEE of a Market economy male 10kg heavier. A heavier body burns more calories on a daily basis to simply exist. Your headline should’ve been: Modern lifestyle results in a higher BMR and a less calories expended from excercise, resulting in similar TDEE and larger people.

The best thing about this vegetable oil stuff is when you realize that the sugar argument is a shill-tactic, which means that sugar probably isn't that bad for you and at worst, you can have fruit and some table sugar in moderation. Do you know what is absolutely incredible? A glass of freshly squeezed orange juice. It goes with pretty much any meal too. I can make my own ice cream without vegetable oil and have it as dessert, and I don't put on any weight. Do you know how liberating it is to be able to eat dessert, knowing that the reason it used to make you feel like shit was because it was loaded with vegetable oil.

It just blows my mind that I was trapped in this pit of lies eating miserable food because American industry has spent decades paying people to tell lies for them.
