Why are all women suddenly obsessed with this stuff?

Why are all women suddenly obsessed with this stuff?

It says there's 18g protein per serving, but it's not like whey right?

Can't find any info on what this shit actually is beyond some skincare meme

But what is the protein in this shit, presumably it's not protein powder with extra stuff added in? It's just an incomplete amino acid mix

It's collagen. Your body breaks it down into its constituent amino acids. But by giving your body that specific set of amino acids in that specific ratio acts as a signal for your body to make more collagen. Good for joints and shit.

so the 18g of protein listed is just more collagen?

            It's all collagen..

I see, I didn't realise the protein was indented on the nutrition label - so it's saying that of that 20g collagen, 18g is 'protein'

This. Collagen is great and I've been using it for years. Kind of annoying it's become an npc meme now and driven the price up. It's also good for improving your glycine to methionine ratio.

Collagen helps reduce wrinkles and boost elasticity in the skin. Your body will produce collagen from amino acids but those amino acids may also be used for something else . Companies sell collagen powder and market it in a way that makes it seem like eating the collagen powder will produce collagen in and of itself, but it functions more like a protein powder with a different amino acid profile

i kinda wonder if like protein powder companies are using this as a way to get in on the woman market. mass building protein powders are more likely to appeal to men, but a protein powder that is more geared to skin health appeals more to women. so now they have 2 demographics

I mean it works to an extent, but I think collagen synthesis also requires some additional elements like vitamin C. It's not a total scam but its overpriced and it doesn't work quite how most people think

They're getting old, their bones are rattling, their skin is wrinkling, their joints are aching, their tendons are snapping randomly.

The shit I posted? In what respect? Seems it just affects your skin, doesn't help with muscle development

        >this protein only works on skin, not muscle
This. Be careful as well if you buy any protein powder marketing in blue packaging, because that will only work on hair and hamstrings

I'm not some sort of biologist but how? Isnt the main difference that it has more of certain types of amino acids and lacks tryptophan? Other than that why wouldnt it be able to help with muscles?

I was thinking the same. They think it must be some fricking elite empowerment dance but its so fricking stupid looking i cant even describe it with just words. If they want attention, why dont they dance normally instead of that crack addict helldance?

Because you are rightfully disgusted by the Black personfied personality exemplified by that dance.
Just as you would be disgusted by tattoos and hoop earrings, it's an honest signal of a bad mate.

We have this same thread, albeit worded differently, every single week, and every single time it has the same brand with the same container. Nobody should buy this crap because it does nothing.

It was moronic in the first place that some of the most wholesome parts of the animal were considered waste products. People use to boil up the bones and cartilage for stock, not throw it away.

Did every moron in this thread posting about it being an incomplete protein for muscle development completely miss the part where people explain how it's good for BUILDING COLLAGEN IN TENDONS, aka the part most likely to get damaged as time goes to infinity?

    >18g protein per serving
people who buy shit like this are moronic, take the sardine pill, I eat two cans a day between breakfast and lunch.
2 small cans of sardines have 50 grams of protein between them, 150% of your daily b12 needs, 150% of your omega 3, and all sorts of other good stuff, they also taste good and you can get good ones for $2-$4 a can. They also last basically forever, typically the can will say they expire 5 years after being packaged but you can eat them decades later than that and they will typically be fine, I buy them bulk on amazon.
pic related are the ones I get.

I have loose skin from weight loss, but I’m really not sure that this would help fix me. At this point, I don’t really want to believe in any type of supplement that’ll just “fix me“ and suddenly make my skin normal again, make me not ache, And above all I trust no supplement taken by middle-aged white women. Shit reminds me of essential oils. I’m sure that they do some good, but because of the demographic that swears they can cure cancer, you won’t see me really using it for anything besides good smelly juice.
