Depends, are you cutting or bulking?

honey, you put frozen broccoli in the microwave in a fricking bowl. you put rice in a pot of boiling water on the stove. you put chicken in a pan in the oven.

Honest question, when people talk about
    >chicken
    >broccoli
    >rice
meme, is everything plain? So just plain chicken breast with some seasoning, plain steamed broccoli, plain steamed rice? So not chicken thighs, oven roasted broccoli that has olive oil, etc?

      Anonymous

I like to seasoned the broccoli with light garlic salt and alittle parm cheese

        Anonymous

doesnt really answer my question, i dont like steamed broccoli but simple olive oil roasted broccoli i do like so i have wondered if the chicken broccoli rice meme assumed practically unseasoned for everything

  13. 1 year ago
    Anonymous

Chicken rice broccoli is a meme, bodybuilders do eat other things. That said, chicken is cheaper and easier to season than fish and can’t give you mercury poisoning. Broccoli tastes better than string beans. Rice is a simpler carb than pasta and therefore slightly healthier.

Again, bodybuilders do eat all these things, but if you’re wondering why it’s only chicken, rice, and broccoli that made the cut for the meme, that’s why.

      >Rice is a simpler carb than pasta

because the world's history is a bynch of dumb people making stuff up and then the next people coming along and copying it

rice comes from the fact that "bodybuilders" generally meant people with very large body mass, and to obtain that amount of mass, they needed a carb source that was easy to digest. Potatoes are a bit harder to digest in the quantities that these people eat food.

Chicken comes from it being cheap and easy to cook in bulk probably, and brocoli because it rounds out a lot of the nutrients for lazy minimalists who just want "one" vegetable.

Nobody considers corn to be a vegetable, it's a carb, not much different than eating rice, which in turn is not much different than eating sugar.

And rabbit is fine, as long as you have fat coming from somewhere else.
