How do I repair my knee so proper deadlifting doesn't hurt?
I don't want to sumo deadlifting (because it's GHEY) but I'd rather pull sumo than not diddly at all
This is serious, I'm dying here

      Google: Atg strength standards
You need to work on leg mobility and tibialis strength

hijacking the thread, but does anybody know some sources that deal with shoulder mobility / pain the same way kneesovertoes guy does with knees/legs

Gmb.io has a good shoulder mobility section

Sumo is easier so you get to lift more. Then you get to brag that you lifted 4pl8s and nobody will know.

I don't understand how people can be proud of deadlifting sumo, or any other ego lifting "cheat" for that matter.

probably because they are risking losing their toes for a number no one gives a shit about in real life.
one slip and your toes are amputated just so you can post on reddit about how psyched you are about your 3.5 plate 'deadlift'

Don't you feel like a bitch taking such a wide stance? Who are you spreading your bussy for? Close your legs up and pull like a man

I hurt my back lowering the weight on a conventional deadlift last week. When I'm recovered I will switch to sumo. I'm 6 foot 3 so this should make the range of motion closer to what you short people have and reduce the amount of force on my hinge caused by my longer back (you don't have this issue because you are shorter than me).

do rdl's with lighter weight to strengthen yourself in the bottom position.
Or be a copemaxxer with sumo.

Unironically me, lower back has been half fucked for weeks now. I chalked it up to weak hips however

I am 6’1 and pull conventional, 4pl8, double overhand grip
      No excused

I tore a tendon in my finger doing double overhand at like 365 or so, not worth it tbh.

Similar height - I find a wide conventional/narrow sumo stance to be the right fit. Solves all the issues I had conventional without going super wide.

try deficit deadlifts once you're healed. It sounds counterproductive but it makes it extra obvious if you are starting the lift with your hips too high and therefore putting extra stress on your back.

The longer the lift, the more you learn not to be bothered by people doing retarded shit in the gym.

Sumo is fine if you're doing it to emphasize the glutes. It's only cringe if you do it to increase DL numbers.

Stiff-leg is the only true and valid deadlift. Everything else is quad cope.

I'm not sure if height has anything to do with it, but sumo has always felt better for me. Who fucking cares either way, just do what feels best for you.

          >noodle bar
          >soft knees
Awesome nonetheless but with the really bendy bar and straps it makes it a different lift entirely. It's more comparable to an 18 inch/silver dollar deadlift

why does the bar bending matter?

The more the bar bends the shorter the ROM

I do sumo because conventional fked up my back. I have long legs so setting up with my legs inside my arms was awkward as fuck and I couldnt activate my quads

Everyone can pull more sumo, except me. I’ve trained conventional for 6+ years and just recently started playing around with it. I do 2 set til near failure in sumo at the end of my deadlifting sesh but it’s half of the weight I pull conventional(feels heavy).

It activates different muscles and I feel like it’s a good tool to improve on my conventional diddly
