Why cut when you can do cardio?

If you run for 30 minutes you burn around 400 calories, which subtracts 400 from your daily intake. So why would I go on a 400 calorie cut when I could do that instead?

    walking is superior. 10k steps a day is like 500kcal and anyone that is even slightly active will average 10-15k steps

      Its 100 calories for someone already at a healthy weight, if you're overweight or obese it climbs pretty steadily. At 240 for example a 10 minute mile burns 187 calories.

    homeostasis will eventually kick in and you'll have to increase the cardio or cut back your calories anyway, plus cortisol will frick your mother in your sleep if you do a whole lot of cardio.
    Much more efficient to cut calories and using cardio as a calorie-burning bonus, an accessory to cutting, not the other way around.
