Ketobros avoid bread because they understand that they literally don't need it. The reason humanity was skinny until recently was because bread was made from working to the bone. You were tilling fields, planting, weeding, plowing, and so forth over and over. This was sufficient work to keep the carbs of bread from building up into body fat. It also helped that sneed oils and corn syrup were basically non-existent.

        Excess *empty calories, Moxy boy.
You can cope all you want, but 200 kcal of beef are NOT the same as 200 kcal of potato chips or soilent.
The reason ketos and carnivores who occasionally cheat with fruit end up relatively fine is because they still go through shit like fiber and the fact that while fruit is sugary, fructose is buried within actual plant flesh and they only eat so much that it gives that energy boost you praise empty carbs for.

Milk was pretty much the only realistic carb source before the agricultural revolution, veganfat.

You really need a history lesson anon. People didn't slaughter their pigs every weekend to watch Saturday morning cartoons. That was like a special event where they'd have the whole community or family gather once a year. The average person didn't have a bunch of laying hens either. Hell most of modern history people were making shitty pancakes out of whatever flour substitutes they had like oat flour and cooking it on a wooden plank next to the fire. Or eating bowls of gruel made out of whatever starch they had handy with some added salt or spices if they were rich.

              And they were weak.

              >muh MICROnutrients
Carbs are the fuel source for athletic/healthy people. You on the other hand are morbidly obese and you have enough MICROnutrients to last you 20 years just in your neck fat alone.

Keyword is athletes. You aren't running miles everyday.

They need any scapegoat instead of admitting to the obvious fact that americans consume more meat and grease than any other country on the planet. So they perpetuate a lie that everyone in America is a vegan who runs around do ultra marathons while eating nothing but fruit, rice and bread and that's why they're obese. I'm sure you'll never see packs of bacon and crates of eggs in a fat person's fridge.

And yet, meat and grease didn't even make Americans obese until sneed oils and HFCS hit the shelves everywhere. Nobody's even blaming veganism for the obesity crisis, vegans are supposed to be annoyingly thin.

Bread USED to be a sufficient energy source since back then, the average person was working their ass off in fields. But ever since corporatized farming took the helm, we stopped burning as much calories. Combine that with subsidies overproducing corn, soi, and sneed oils, and you get a whole population bloated with My 600lb Life contenders on the regular.

The reason he can get away with "unlimited" calories is because the amount of calories you have in a goyslop snack is equivalent to that of a satisfying meal to him. The point of keto and other low-fat diets is to eliminate snacking and other self-destructive eating habits by eliminating an oversized appetite.

That works great until the fatties never learn how to properly plan a diet and hold themselves to a standard so when they go back to eating normally, cause they always do, they just ballon on up cause they never learned anything. The reason why everyone is so outspoken against keto is not because it can’t work, it’s because it doesn’t work long term. Many of us have done keto and know that it is unsustainable and ultimately the only thing that works long term is calorie counting with a balanced diet and exercise. We are just trying to save other fatties from wasting time and getting them on the best path.

Yep. I've had four keto people in my immediate circle. One had a gastric bypass and gained the weight back. His wife was healthy size and is now overweight. Our family friend lost a bunch of weight during year one of keto and is now larger than she's ever been. My father lost weight on keto and ended up in the hospital with a heart attack before gaining all that weight back and more. Meanwhile I've maintained my weight loss over the course of a decade and I eat high carb low fat which means I eat bread, pasta, and white rice as well as piles of potato. I don't need to notice anyfricking thing.
I can test both the diets myself and notice how I feel on them, how my body composition changes and so on.
I have NO idea what the fricking anti keto people hope to acomplish and what they think convincing people to eat carbs will do.
Try both diets for 6 months. See for yourself.
                END OF DISCUSSION.
I DONT NEED SOME MENTALLY ILL PSYCHOPATH SPAMING IST DAILY to try to convince me to do X or Y.
No amount of images of whatever matters.
My real world experience trumps all.
This pseudo reality of lies can only exist on the internet and theorycrafting.

Honestly this fricking shit has been going on for years now. It's so fricking hard to believe anybody is so deranged and mentally ill, the more sane explanation is that it's a bot.
A shitposting bot made to shit up IST by endlessly promoting carbs and crying about keto in any thread for any reason.
This is the reason I don't even try to argue on the internet any more. Or even read opinion on the internet anymore.
Some obese fat moron can just put a shitposting bot to bombard you daily for years all the while they drown in lard and the only winning move is not to even engage in it.
It cannot convince me no matter how much lies and shitposts it spams at me, it will never affect real world evidence. The only thing it can do is waste my time, or emotionally rile me up.

Not a ketoboy but I fear bread. I can and have eaten entire loaves a day. My favorite food is the humble sandwich simply because I enjoy bread so much. I have tried not eating bread and I can't last more than a few days before I'm obsessing over a loaf.

Homemade bread is the ultimate double edged sword. On one hand baking it is good for the spirit and you can control exactly what goes in it, negating much of the goyslop aspect. On the other hand, it's fricking delicious and it's really hard to avoid eating the entire loaf in one day.

Ketosis is good because ketosis is fasting.

What most ketolards follow is not ketosis. You'll never actually enter ketosis unless over 90%+ of your calories come from fat. Any protein you consume gets converted to pure glucose through gluconeogenesis.

Most ketolards have literally never entered ketosis even once kekekekeke

Then by definition that isn’t a keto diet. Keto means you are in ketosis hence the name given.

                >Keto means you are in ketosis hence the name given.
Ketosis is fasting. The "Ketogenic" diet is a fancy marketing term for meme doctors, meat/dairy shills, and influencers to sell books and supplements.

Hence you won't find even a single ketolard resource website that doesn't sell a laundry list of supplements.

The key to good health is eating real, clean, organic food harvested properly.

                That means

                >ripe fruits
                >fresh veggies
                >minimal/no pesticides
                >raw milk and dairy from HEALTHY animals
                >meat from healthy animals slaughtered properly
                >sprouted grains, free of GMO, free of mycotoxins, free of roundup glyphosate

If you are having any health issues, do a water or juice fast. Just as God intended.

If we live this way we will not have health issues. It's literally so simple but everyone wants to be a gigantic moron and do senseless restrictive diets rather than admit the glum truth that our food supply is poisoned and cannot be fixed.

Now do portion sizes. You’re acting like the entire western world is keto when they eat excess fat and carbs. The obesity is from excessive food.

        >excess fat and carbs
        >portion control

Portion control doesn't work when you're not eating real food. Your body eats until you've gotten enough nutrients to continue surviving.

        And it turns out
        >butter, lard, ghee, animal fat
        >vegetable oils

Have almost zero nutrition but add nearly 1000 extra calories of food a day. Directly causing obesity. If portion control worked for the majority then we would have 3/4 being overweight and obese.

      >"Breakfast (ἀκρατισμός akratismós and ἀκράτισμα akratisma, acratisma[4]) consisted of barley bread dipped in wine (ἄκρατος ákratos), sometimes complemented by figs or olives.[5] They also ate a sort of pancake called τηγανίτης (tēganítēs), ταγηνίτης (tagēnítēs)[6] or ταγηνίας (tagēnías),[7] all words deriving from τάγηνον (tágēnon), "frying pan".[8] The earliest attested references on tagenias are in the works of the 5th century BC poets Cratinus[9] and Magnes.[10]

Tagenites were made with wheat flour, olive oil, honey and curdled milk, and were served for breakfast.[11][12][13] Another kind of pancake was σταιτίτης (staititēs), from σταίτινος (staitinos), "of flour or dough of spelt",[14] derived from σταῖς (stais), "flour of spelt".[15] Athenaeus in his Deipnosophistae mentions staititas topped with honey, sesame and cheese.[16][17][18] "

      >"In ancient Greece, fruit and vegetables were a significant part of the diet, as the ancient Greeks consumed much less meat than in the typical diet of modern societies.[58] Legumes would have been important crops, as their ability to replenish exhausted soil was known at least by the time of Xenophon.[59]

Vegetables were eaten as soups, boiled or mashed (ἔτνος etnos), seasoned with olive oil, vinegar, herbs or γάρον gáron, a fish sauce similar to Vietnamese nước mắm. In the comedies of Aristophanes, Poor families ate oak acorns (βάλανοι balanoi).[61] Olives were a common appetizer.[62]

Fruits, fresh or dried, and nuts, were eaten as dessert. Important fruits were figs, raisins, and pomegranates. In Athenaeus' Deipnosophistae, he describes a dessert made of figs and broad beans.[67] Dried figs were also eaten as an appetizer or when drinking wine. In the latter case, they were often accompanied by grilled chestnuts, chick peas, and beechnuts. "

I avoid bread (now) because as a pacific islander my people have never baked bread. The only consistent source of carbs we had were some fruits and coconuts, and maaaybe some root vegetables (sweet potato/taro) but most of our diet was high fat high protein fish for literally how many years up until like 60 years ago when started to migrate to new zealand/australia/america.

Why is is that we've been in a first world country for like 60 years, exposed to easy carbs and now we're the fattest people in the world. That proves to me that carbs and sugar do not belong in our diet.

Charles polloquin even mentions that the closer your ancestors are to the equator the less you will need carbs. Carbs were used mainly in winter when you couldn't hunt as a hibernation method. If your ancestors were close to the equator and didn't experience a true harsh winter you could carry on hunting (eating meat) without needing to store carbs to survive. So that's why white people are better at using carbs but as darker skinned folk can't process those carbs as efficienctly.

What about native north americans? They were nomadic but tribes still survived in the cold without a diet high in carbs. They have high rates of obesity and diabetes since being introduced to western diets.

        Anonymous

        good point.

I guess yeah, there's more factors than how close you were to the equator like poverty, education etc which correlate with obesity. I think at the end of the day Charles polloquin wasn't saying that people who lived far from the equator were immune to carbs, they were just less susceptible to those who lived close.

Polynesians, Africans, South Americans etc. All people who get fat when introduced to western diets. Again, there's more factors than that, but I think personally it's a good little thought experiment.

Not really trying to take one side or the other but your theory is loaded with holes and confounding variables, though I do believe ancestral diets are a based idea for multiple reasons

        Anonymous

yeah there are definitley more factors than how close you lived to the equator. We don't have all the answers yet.

My biggest explanation for diabetes and obesity living as a polynesian in the "poor" part of my country is the accesibility to carbs and sugar as a poor person, mixed with the lack of education. "Oh I can buy more food for less money" (the food is trash with no protein) is what makes us fat.

Ancestral diets to me make sense for reasons I haven't even thought of yet. As weird as that sounds.

        >Charles polloquin
Died at 57 of a heart attack.

yeah that's true. His father died of a heart attack too so they wonder whether it was heridetary or not. The thing about Polloquin though is this man is formally educated to the masters level and has forgotten more about fitness/nutrition we have ever known. He isn't against carbs btw, nor does he promote keto or carnivore, his idea is that "you need to deserve your carbs" which I think is a fairly moderate stance while also recognising the power and risk of carbohydrates.

          >formally educated

So he was a low-carber that took steroids and died of heart disease from consuming tons of meat.

          >muh genetics

I like how we have literally tens of thousands of studies proving saturated fat causes heart disease, we have endless pictures of people's arteries clogged with it from both autopsies and angiograms, yet somehow it's still a "mystery" to the people who continuously deny this reality and drop dead of heart disease like flies.

He took steroids for 20 years, I would bet my last buck it was a combination of that and the heridetary gene his dad died from.

Also, he wasn't really a low-carber he literally just said that fat people don't deserve carbs. Which imo is a fairly moderate stance to have, fat people don't really need such an energy dense macronutrient when they have tons of fat to burn. He also was a big proponent of eating fruit.

No the studies show that heart disease isn't correlated with saturated fat but with how fat you actually are. So if you're fat you will have a higher chance of heart disease, even if you're unhealthy eating like shit but in a good bf% range you're less at risk for heart disease than the fat vegan guy.

How do you acknowledge studies of heart disease and then drop genetics like a whole branch of science doesn't exist?

I've yet to see even a single paper from this whole branch of science asserting that saturated fat clogging the arteries is a spontaneous manifestation of "muh genetics".

Similar to the fabled obesity gene.

Ill give you a video which is well sourced you can follow the studies in the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yIXbnCZ5kGw

This one here directly speaks about obesity benig the primary factor in heart health: https://www.acc.org/latest-in-cardiology/articles/2019/01/11/07/39/hypertriglyceridemia-management-according-to-the-2018-aha-acc-guideline

                again: https://www.ahajournals.org/doi/10.1161/CIR.0000000000000973

It's pretty well documented. Obesity is the determining factor. Now you said you had thousands of studies right? Can you post a mere 1 thousand studies for me showing that fat is the main culprit for heart disease (studies that include caloric count + other macros too please) I'm sure that wouldn't be too hard for you right?

Because I never fricking said that did I? I said that his heart attack could have been the combination of genetics + steroids. I never said he was a healthy man who spontaneously clogged his arteries. Not sure why you're trying so hard to change the argument?

Excellent. So it appears to state that the two major components of genetics
                >high blood pressure
                >high cholesterol
Contribute to the development of heart disease.

It's very convenient for us that we have a way to reduce heart disease risk to almost zero, and even reverse heart disease with a plant-based whole foods diet devoid of saturated fat.

it's the quantity of what we eat too, are bad education and shit income. There's definitley more factors than carbs, but the point I'm making is this:

high protein/high fat = higher satiety meaning we wouldn't eat as much food, especially the shitty blood sugar level rising food like carbs. We get hungry because of that insulin response, we think it's hunger when really our sugar levels are just being fricked with.

Studies have shown people go 700+ calories over their TDEE 2 groups. 1 group overeats with carbs/fat the other group overeats with protein. Miraculously the protein group doesn't gain extra fat, they keep the same body mass meaning that going a bit over your calories with protein doesn't make you fat like other macros do. Honestly imo more protein less carbs in and of itself could solve a large portion of obesity.

Now tell me, if instead of 5 packs of mi gorengs we swapped that for 5 packs of beef jerky or lean steaks. Do you think we would still be fat?

Not exactly. I think even “junk food” isn’t a good indicator. People were far more thin in the 50s and 60s and their diets back then were absolute shit and based on early science completely funded by corporations.
I think obesity today is far more complex than “carb” or “no carb.”
Likely more due to some endocrine issues that are nuking everyone’s metabolism. Micro plastics, birth control, god knows what.

The problem with keto is that it’s hard to sustain. I’ve found low carb (less than 100g) to be the sweet spot but you can absolutely shed weight on keto. I went from 33%BF to 26%BF in 6 months. Still have more to lose obviously but I’m just beginning.

You can totally lose weight on keto, but you can on veganism too. Meme diets biggest issue is that they are not sustainable longterm. to actually keep weight off you need to learn how to go about living in a completely different way cause your old way was dysfunctional which lead to your weight gain. Replacing your old way with hyper restricting diets is just replacing your old dysfunctional lifestyle with another dysfunctional one. You are trying to skate around the core of the problem which is poor eating habits usually revolving around portion control, and over indulgence of snack foods and fast food. This is why calorie counting, along with a balanced diet and exercise work so well because you are adopting it a lifestyle that is sustainable since you don’t have to maintain constant restrictions on your life to such an extreme degree. You can still have occasional treats like ice-cream or a burger and beer at a bbq, and you don’t have to always be maintaining a super strict diet that will eventually lead to a break in your willpower. I have no problem admitting you can lose weight on keto, I just know from first hand experience that all that weight comes back, and the only long term effective diet is a balanced one augmented by calorie counting and exercise.

Obesity is cured by two factors:

                >eating real food
                >learning to cook

If you aren't satisfied with the food your ancestors ate for 6000 years since the Earth's creation, repeat step 2

Because they (and pretty much every IST poster) base their worldview on contrarianism/fear-mongering justified by what youtube/momscience blogs shit out, filtered through memes.

If keto was mainstream, IST would've promoted carbs (and of course would've fricked up by promoting fructose instead of sucrose because FRUCTOSE IS IN FROOT THEREFORE NATURAL).

                >fat fricks lose weight on a hypocaloric diet when surpervised
                >fat fricks regain weight over 6 years without supervision
                >metabolism slows down over time because they age and are sedentary
/fit/: THIS PROVES HYPOCALORIC DIETS DONT WORK IT MUST BE THE BREADS FAULT

                >obesity is cured by eating less food you fricking moron holy shit
Eating less food won't satisfy you and will just cause rubber banding. If that worked we wouldn't have a 45% obesity rate in the USA and another 30% being overweight.

Processed food is hypercaloric and virtually nutritionless. Eating real food however is very satisfying, filled with nutrients, and makes obesity very difficult to achieve.

                >holy shit why do you even stroke the keyboard with your greasy blobby fingers you bloated lardy fat bigger? biggers like you should be banned from using the internet until you reach a healthy weight.

Why are you spewing this venom? Do you truly hate God's creation so much that you must attack natural foods?

Go eat plain boiled potatoes, as many as you want. You will stop eating and "be satisfied" very fast. I struggle to get enough kcal in on a mostly legume, bread and vegetable + some organ meat diet.

                >If that worked we wouldn't have a 45% obesity rate in the USA and another 30% being overweight.

The reason for this is portion control and the sugar/hfcs+fat combo.

I don't understand why people don't fast to lose weight. No, I do. They want to keep eating, but this is a only a short-term solution. Most people that lose a lot of weight don't actually fix their compulsive eating habits thus gaining the weight they lost back. You don't fix an eating disorder by eating 2lbs of celery and cucumbers.

All I know is I get more digestional issues the more grains/plants I eat, I also generally feel more lethargic and "itchy" not sure how to explain it. I get more flatulence and start pooing more. I don't need studies, nor idiots saying what should make me feel better if I have direct experience with how my health is with certain foods, if anyone thinks they can know better through le experts or whatever else you are an oversocialized idiot.

I hate pooping as well. On keto I poop at most once every other week. It is so much better than having to poop every day. I have saved hundreds of dollars on toilet paper just by doing this.

Type 2 diabetes can be cured by an almost exclusive carb diet such as white rice+fruit, you got T2DM from toxic seed oils and fats that induce metabolic dysfunction

I don't. I do keto in cycles like you're supposed to. Ate a banana sandwich tonight without fear as I am currently in a cycle where I can enjoy carbs regularly. In fact, I typically eat whatever I want in moderation. Only fatties and people addicted to sugar have to restrict.

I see 4 people (posts more accurately, wouldn't be surprised if it's one guy just constantly crying) seething about keto like it's some sort of widespread problem here for every one guy saying he does keto.
And no, people saying veganism is moronic generally are not doing keto.

I like having chicken with a cup of rice for meals so I can switch it up from just meat and vegetables every day, but apparently I shouldn't do that, but I should because it's just CICO at the end of the day regardless of method?

They need any scapegoat instead of admitting to the obvious fact that americans consume more meat and grease than any other country on the planet. So they perpetuate a lie that everyone in America is a vegan who runs around do ultra marathons while eating nothing but fruit, rice and bread and that's why they're obese. I'm sure you'll never see packs of bacon and crates of eggs in a fat person's fridge.

Bacon and eggs. That which humanity has had since time immemorial. And yet it is only recently that massive obesity has occurred. Peculiar

This is as retarted as one could expect - I am not ketoschizoid but I removed bread from my diet since it's pretty calorie dense - I'd much rather eat something that will fill me up more in exchange. My main issue at this point is that I love tomatoes and onions sandwiches and can't really find a replacement for them. I also cut other things like pasta and focused on unprocessed foods (fruits, meat - like chicken breasts not some sasuages or anything similar, dairy - eggs and low fat milk 0.5%, veggies) - I feel good and am losing +/- 1 kg a week (deficit + I do take long walks nearly everyday, do some lifts every 3 days, and do fasts every friday - still drink coffe and tea though - obviously with water only).
At the end of the day You can't beat thermodynamics - You must burn more than You get, maybe some foods are different in terms of how they offer Your body the energy they store, and some foods are better to eat than others (drinking a glass of oil instead of eating a balanced steam cooked meal) - but the truth is there is no miracle diet that will change You into a fit person in a month. You've gotta change Your habits and observe what works for You and what doesn't - if it feels wrong, it probably is.
