lol I can’t believe someone would champion their undergrad degree as a credential. I thought doing this with a Masters was bad enough.

I gotta say those his lifts are way more impressive than I would have thought.

To be fair a bachelors is all you need to understand and interpret research results and if you went to a good university, question the research methodology. I think it is relevant here since what he's trying to do is interpret research for youtube videos.
A masters and PhD are for if you want to conduct research yourself.
That being said he makes me cringe all around.

if you have a meme degree it is embarrassing to use postnominals, but when you have a decent degree in a professional environment it's usually standard, including professional societies you're apart of.

in the modern world there's an obsession with following the consensus of "experts" and trying to rationalize every little decision and distill everything into some gamified number/pattern sequence

no they use trial and error, I’ve seen elite athletes are garbage programs but genetics trumps all.

          >I’ve seen elite athletes are garbage programs but genetics trumps all.
Cope. Their garbage programs are actually the reason they're elite and you should listen to them instead of anonymous homosexuals on a Burmese fly fishing forum.

unless you are an elite coach or credentialed exercise scientist why on earth would anyone care about your opinion on elite athlete training programs?

All athletes juice. Specially in the olympics.

Only the unsuccessful ones. The good ones do stuff that IST would call meme exercises, DYEL etc. and it's usually extremely at odds with internet fitness science. For example, many track and field athletes use circuit training with relatively high reps, which shouldn't work but does anyway.

True athletes either use science or don't make it. Everyone is limited by recovery, unless you're training somewhat optimally you're going to waste your limited recovery on shit training.

True athletes use PeDs and do what their coach tells them, these coaches usually having a degree.

Damn Mr junior Canada actually is pretty impressive. Only problem is I don’t believe he’s natural. I’m sure none of the other top finishers were either though so it’s still impressive. Anyway fitness influencers need something unique that sets them apart. Nippards looks and delivery make him an ideal guy for the ‘science based’ lifting spiel. He seems to have cornered the market before anyone else so here we are.

Scientific lifting routines only matter when you are already to 90% of your potential.

"Scientific routines" don't exist because the studies all focus on irrelevant shit like 6 weeks of leg extension in untrained populations with zero control of recovery factors. It's a scam by charlatans to take the money of lazy, egotistical midwits.

Lifting hard with consistency and some form of measureable improvement to what you're doing. Everything else is dependant on what your goals are and what you enjoy.

Well known since the beginning of physiology. The principles have been well established since forever. For example, if you want to get tanned, you may sit in the sun for 5 minutes. But once you get enough tan, you need to increase the stimulus to get more tanned than the 5 minutes tan. Now you must sit in the sun for 7 minutes. Sitting for 5 minutes won't do shit for you anymore once you get past the point where the stimulus is strong enough to change you. It's the same with lifting. Details should not be of concern unless you're a very advanced tanning master, ie, will eating a carrot everyday make your color different and whatnot. Who cares, just go sit in the sun if you want a tan

Not him but what works is individually different. Your only chance is to test a bunch of stuff by yourself and keep what works for your personally.

I have said this so many times. Because they are not meant for sports. They are literal fricking genetic dead end nerds who never done any exercise in their entire life. Nobody who starts playing basketball reads a fricking book about it and does hundreds of hours of scientific research on how to play basketball and how to eat food.

Bodybuilding is a sport for the most unathletic losers you can think of. Or nowadays it is. Dont even have to go back more than 10 years and "nobody" lifted. It was only meatheads, motorcyclist, etc. people who wanted to go the gym. Nowadays its losers who dont even like training, they only do it because they have no friends or gf. Its annoying how much the culture shifted but it is what it is.

No but their coaches and nutritionists did you fricking moron. Everyone that is a pro basketballer has been training under a coach with decades of experience in training basketballers and extensive knowledge of exercise science for at least parts of the year ever since they were under 10. And ever since they've been at high school level they've had nutritionists tell them what they should be eating.
