because it's just the bare minimum to prove that you have the physicality to actually perform in the following course. how can they expect you to climb a rope if you cant do any pullups? youre going to be miserable and lose size anyway.

Because the army has lots of bone roles like QMs that require ‘highly’ skilled people with rank to fill them. The army doesn’t want to bin them when they’re just glorified warehouse workers. Also women in the army lowered the standards quite a bit.

But also peak army fitness is quite specific. It doesn’t build much muscle and you’re going to be fat off season. The ideal shape to be in before doing SF selection is being close to 17% body fat; being able to run a 5:30 minute mile (not that fast); being able to easily run a half marathon in about 1:45; and a double bodyweight squat.

Most people in SF look like shit. A four week exercise of being in a 1000+ calorie deficit with poor sleep will just degrade you.

You will become very square as you get used to carrying 70kg on your back all day.

Inside of a SAM site or a jet cockpit you won't have to run.

Damn, sure sucks that my 500lbs deadlift couldn’t save me now.

    Or rather
    >be strong as fuck
    >lift all the heavy shit into humvee
    >drive over a mine
    >dies

because less and less people want to join the military, so they constantly have to lower the physical requirements so even trannies and women can be special forces

More like why dont they increase their standarts so that exceptionaly fit could pass

But the exceptionally fit can pass. Do you mean ONLY the exceptionally fit can pass? Most wars will be won by zoomers who think they're playing ace combat, but are just helping to train the AI algorithm that will control all our drones. Flesh is weak, steel is forever

do you have any idea how much manpower is needed? you can't just turn away the vast majority of recruits like since then they wouldn't even be able too staff a single fucking carrier group

    >why are minimum standards low
    Uh they're minimums
You line of thinking is like why is a university course so easy, it only requires me to have graduated high school
I'm pretty sure there are no military schools or selections that grant passage for simply doing 3 minutes of exercises
Why they do this is just to filter people who have absolutely no shot at success but it's also to identify hidden injuries. Because it's often not easy to get a slot or you don't get a second chance, so soldiers will try to thug injuries, and end up getting seriously more hurt in the course.
That's how it was for airborne, we ran everywhere all the time, which was said to be for "drop zone evacuation training" but reality is they wanted to know who had fucked knees or adductors or ankles before they went sailing into the ground

    They have limited time
They have limited calories and protein and might go hungry when on the field.
Getting your soldiers to build muscle past a certain point is pointless, since they will just lose it, and it's also a waste of resources.

    >leave your home for the first time a retarded teenager with no clue what you just signed up for
    >identity stolen and subjected to slave like treatment and belittlement, treated worse than an animal
    >havent spoken to your family or friends in months
    >woken up multiple times during the night and fucked with part of a sadistic game, have food withheld
    >wake up at 3am on 4 hours of sleep then do your evaluation
its not like the gym where you go when you feel ready, its a culminative thing designed by government psychologist to test you when your at weakest point physically and mentally
