Why do Normies struggle so much losing weight?

I've seen dozens of fatsos trying to lose weight for LITERAL YEARS, trying all sorts of different diets, but almost NEVER succeeding at the end

Why are they like this?
What are most of them doing wrong?

      Fricking this

Normies think shit like pic rel is healthy and will help them lose weight, yet when you combine the fact they equate that to "I can eat as much as I want of it" and the fact it's actually dense in calories

What you're missing is normies think you can eat infinity "healthy food" and still lose weight. They'll eat the whole bag in one sitting, over a thousand calories, and claim they're dieting.

eat when I'm hungry. eat what my body is craving.
thats exactly the point I was trying to make.
for most thin people staying thin isn't a conscious decision that you should congratulate them for.

Yup, basically how it goes and not an exaggeration at all.
For people not inside the normie mind this is how it goes
      >Breakfast? I have to get to work / take a shower / watch my TV, I don't have time for a healthy meal I'll just eat cereal or pancakes or something

normies can't be bothered to do anything more than than the bare minimum, and they can't even be bothered to do that half the time. blame 12+ years of "education" where the only benefit of trying harder was a different letter on a piece of paper at the end of the year. normies can't be bothered to put extra effort into counting and tracking calories, macros, staying in their kcal allowance, etc. you can lecture them all day about the dangers of obesity, deep in their mind they'll always think weight is just a number.

They actually had negative benefits, I was told that advanced courses would mean more work and homework, when asked what I gained from this they had no real answer.
If you do well in school the only advantage is getting moved from a room of morons into a room of semi-intelligent people instead, for this privilege you get MORE work. If you work hard you get more work, if you work less they lower their expectations and don't care, so therefore why work?
If I could go back in time I'd take the advanced classes now just for the challenge but the public goy system really seems to make it so you never want to work hard or put in effort.

This fat frick has been trying to lose weight for how many years? 10?

He could have lost all his weight like 5 times during that period of time if he was disciplined

Losing weight requires hunger or physical pain. Pain sucks so people would rather avoid pain by eating. Gaining weight is easy just eat until you're full it's pleasurable. Pain is not pleasurable and therefore people with low will power to lose weight will not lose weight. Imagine you had to slam your dick in a drawer every night for 4 years in order to make it grow 3 inches and you had to keep slamming your dick in a drawer to keep your gains. Would you slam your dick in a drawer every night? No you probably wouldn't. That's what losing weight is like. It's hunger pains, it's fatigue from hunger, it's anger, it's sadness, it's awful. And it's the only way to lose weight. The fatter you are the more likely you are to be fat forever. Most people don't have what it takes to endure, to suffer long term to fit an aesthetic. They lie to themselves weight isn't everything, it doesn't matter if I'm fat as long as I'm happy.

      >And also the food is posion and our hormones are being blocked so Testosterone is lower than it should be while estrogen is higher than it should be. Estrogen makes you fat and happy. Testosterone makes you ripped and angry

Lack of willpower. I know a lot of boomers from my work and most are overweight with the same list of excuses.
      >Need to call my doctor about this new medication
      >My thyroid has been acting up
      >Life is for living, anyway
      >The crazy thing is, I don't even eat that much
      >Maybe it has something to do with the diabetes
I used to try to help, but deep down they don't want it hard enough. They're ok with being fat, or at least more ok with it than they would be with getting thin.

They are too moronic to understand simple thermodynamics of energy in = energy out, and to lazy to quantify this which is the most important factor.
They get rekt over and over by media which advertises things as "healthy". My favourite is seeing a fat girl buying almonds and cashew nuts because it's a "healthy" snack. Yes it absolutely is a healthy food, it also has insane caloric density and is one of the best bulking foods lmao.
They think long duration cardio along with shit macros is a great way to lose weight. And it is, to get better cardio and become skinny fat. So they do their moronic diet with lots of cardio, make their body composition even worse, then rebound once they start eating "normal" again.

The hormonal thing is real. Your hormones deeply tells you things like "eat more" and "stop eating". And you get them from your mom.

Fat women curse with an awful fatass life to their miserable children.
It's not a coincidence that most fatasses have a fat ass mom.

Hate or feel disgusted by fat people? Go hug your skinny/ former skinny mother and try to be less of a shit.

I kind of doubt this. I'm one of those "eats completely dog shit fast food and junk food 24/7 and is still somehow thin" kinda guys Yet was somehow still under weight for a while. My mom isn't so lucky. She has to watch What she eats constantly yet still struggles to lose weight. She's joking Lee says that I should borrow some of her fat every now and then. Now to be fair to myself, I'm very active, Try to work out whenever I can, and do a shit load of cardio, But I was still thin even before I did this. Becoming more active actually resulted in me gaining weight but not enough for it to be visibility noticeable. What gives?

Losing weight is pretty easy, it's tedious but pretty simple. Maintaining the weight loss is actually harder because now you have to balance eating too much vs eating too little, and once you get fat once your appetite hormones are fricked so you can't use that as a guide. So I'm guessing most fatties know that it won't be sustainable long term and give up.

      I disagree.

I use to be able to eat 2 Cathead Chicken Egg and Cheese Biscuits at 290. I dropped to 225 and went to Cracker Barrel with a coworker after four months of eating clean. Ate two biscuits and a cup of broccoli (400cals) and i was already stuffed. You just have to do a hard reset.

There's a cheat code called fasting. Just don't eat for a few days, switch to OMAD and you'll never feel hunger gain.

        Anonymous

Fasting doesn't work. If you skip a day of eating you just feel even more hungry the next day. Eventually after two or three days you break and end up eating more than you would have eaten normally during that time. Slow, consistent caloric deficit is better than extreme memes.

Wrong. I lost 70 pounds exclusively through fasting. Then I ate whatever for like 3 months straight. No counting calories or anything. You know how much weight I gained back? Like half a pound. Your stomach shrinks and you lose your appetite. I'd have to willingly and actively put in effort to gain a signifgant amount of weight back

Simply not true. Any fatty will tell you that hunger is easy to deal with.
What's hard to deal with is the chemical addiction to certain foods and the cravings that come with that. It's not physical at all.

        Anonymous

There is no separation between physical and mental, this includes addiction. The chemical reactions in your gut microbiome and the resulting signals through your nervous system and brain are all the same process. You need a true diet reset starting with a fast coupled with nothing but whole foods and MOST IMPORTANTLY no added sugar for at least a month. Pomegranate is currently an in season treat and is great at limiting sugar intake while assisting in a gut microbiome reset, just don't eat more than 2-3 per day.

This is every fatty's cure. You can either embrace and implement this information or you can ignore it, but it's reality without any profit driven motive thrown in to mislead you. This is the way.

          Anonymous

That's not even close to being true.
Hunger pains are easy to ignore and feel good after a while. Craving is completely different and has nothing to do with whatever the frick you think you're talking about.

Every thought, feeling, or experience you've ever had in your pathetic life has been a chemical reaction and the resulting electrical signals moving through neurons. There is no thinker of thoughts, that's just another thought. There is no feeler of feelings, that's just another feeling. These are grammatical concepts that have no basis in reality. You confuse your interpretation of reality with reality itself. You are starving on eating menus.

The sales department where I work is entirely staffed by obese women. The stench of rotting food in their trash is unbearable when you walk in because the office is a closed area without much ventilation.
They are ALWAYS snacking on cookies and chips when I go in there, any time of day.
Each desk has a mini fridge stocked with soda.
Every new hire but one I’ve seen in the past 2 years has been an obese woman. And when their manager quit they got a normal weight woman who lasted 2 days before she left crying for some reason.
I think the crabs in a bucket mentality is a big part of it. If they were all fit and one new fat girl came in she’d probably end up fit by the end of the year too.

I work in a call center. The pay is pretty good so people stick around it's not like one of those sweatshops that pay less than McDonalds

It is mostly women, no surprise, I'd say it's 70% women, 30% men. Of these women, about 80% are overweight, and 65% are obese.

In contrast for the men, maybe 25% are obese/overweight, and the rest are skinnyfat or just skinny in general.

Fat women in offices most certainly bring each other down with their HAES mentality and fatty sabotage(bringing free pizza or donuts for everyone). It wasn't until covid happened and they weren't all in the same room together that 2 of them I know started to lose weight, one of them lost like 65+ pounds and looks like a high schooler again despite being 35. She's actually a MILF now.

But yeah, offices are breeding grounds for women to become obese. If your girlfriend ever gets an office job, warn her of these things. Mandate a gym membership or something.

This is actually the truth. Most people lack of self awareness and are too afraid of criticism / failure to look inward and realize what they need to fix vs not. Instead they tear others down or just cope and make excuses.

When you develop complete accountability you will be able to make meaningful life changes, but only then. Far easier to blame someone else for your problems than own that you yourself is to blame.

They think long duration cardio along with shit macros is a great way to lose weight. And it is, to get better cardio and become skinny fat. So they do their moronic diet with lots of cardio, make their body composition even worse, then rebound once they start eating "normal" again.

People fail because they are used to getting instant gratification and when they need to lose 20 pounds that just doesn't happen fast enough. On the other hand they start feeling hungry as shit very quickly. If they try to get used to the hunger and the new diet that pain goes eventually goes away, but it's not instant. To make that hunger go away instantly they just stuff their faces with whatever goyslop they are craving which is what made them fat to begin with.
Some people, especially sheboons, have little to no ability to plan for the future under any circumstances so it's no wonder they tend to be so fat.

I am not sure if this will help you understand the why but I have struggled with weight loss for years and this is how it has been for me.
    >Starting at 110kg
That was when I was 18 years old.
    >110kg to 80kg
That was a 1 year stretch of time where I worked as a bartender/waiter and was constantly moving with basically no time to eat. It was not a conscious decision to lose weight, which took me to the next one:
    >80kg to 100kg
I went to university and during 3 years I did not exercise at all and slowly gained the weight back
    >100kg to 90kg to 100kg
During two years I tried many things to lose weight. I lifted, I tried meme diets like keto and paleo, I did cardio, etc. It worked but because of the nature of the meme diets every time I stopped I gained back all the weight I had lost.
    >100kg to 105kg
    Lockdowns and zero exercise
    >105kg to 100kg
I started lifting again and started tracking calories religiously. It was going down but I was constantly hungry and the weight was going down very slowly. Also I felt like absolute shit all the time.
    >100kg to 93kg
Here I am now. With this part people might disagree with my approach and I am yet to see if I will gain the weight back once I go back to the gym, but what I am doing right now is not doing any physical exercise and making my portions as small as I can without feeling hungry. Basically the "eat like a thin person" approach. I tried doing it while lifting but my hunger levels rise dramatically if I do any kind of exercise, so my plan is to do this until I go back to 80kg and then go back to the gym and calorie counting phase.

      Anonymous

Bro what you're doing isn't very smart, try tracking your macros and lifting, cardio is good but optional.

Lifting will prevent muscle loss, or if you're eating enough protein, even build up muscle WHILE losing fat. It's a myth that you can't lose fat while gaining muscle.

Eat a shit ton of protein (at the very least 1g per cm of height). Calculate your maintenance calories and eat 15-20% less than that. Eat enough fat so your hormones don't get fricked (for your weight it's something around 70g pet day). Carbs are the least important to hit

If you do that, with time your hunger will adjust, your "feeling like shit" will also stop being a thing if you don't starve yourself (don't eat less than maintenance -20%)

What you're doing will result in muscle loss

        Anonymous

I am very aware of the macros I eat, and I make all my meals with as much protein as I possibly can, which usually includes more than enough fat.
The problem I have is that my approach to food in general has been very unhealthy my whole life, and I don't know if I have some autism or something but every time I track calories or macros I do it religiously to the point of spending most of my awake time thinking about that and that is definitely not a healthy relationship with food.
This is why I want to spend some time trying to fix this and focus on getting a little bit more in touch with the signals my body sends me until I can actually know when am I feeling hungry because I am hungry and when am I hungry because of anxiety/boredom/stress/etc.
I know I will lose muscle and won't look as good as many of you guys, but before doing that I want to actually look and eat like a normal person. Once I manage to do that I will start working on building muscle.

It sounds stupid but it's actually a pretty good rule of thumb for DYELs and fatties so the DYEL eats enough but the fatty doesn't delude himself into thinking he needs 250g per day at 40%bf
If you're relatively lean, your height in cm will be close to your weight in lbs and it follows the 1g/lb rule.
If you're at a point where you know you need more, you don't need to follow these quick and fast rules anymore

      >Eat like a thin person
It's literally this easy, you get 3 meals a day and ONE small snack. Only eat until you're not hungry any more, don't stuff yourself.
Thin people generally eat until they're not hungry, fat people eat until they can't anymore or there's no food left.
There are things that can help fill you up with low-calorie too but most people will eat those then use it as an excuse to add more meals and snacks, as a hungry skeleton I've realized that I had no appetite when I was just eating 3 meals a day, when I increased it to 3 meals plus 3 snacks to try and gain weight I started getting hungry again.
      Frequent snacks = hunger.

The best diet is the one you can follow, normies have unrealistic goals, they want results immediately, they don't think in cycles or short-term, attainable goals, they lie to themselves, they follow meme diets they read about and are not consistent.

To be fair, it took a long time to GAIN that weight too. A lot of fat adults were fat as children as well (should be child abuse). Fundamentally, what I have observed is that normies are fairly ignorant about how significantly their lifestyle impairs their weight loss efforts.

For example, a normie knows that you need to eat less to lose weight. So they fire up MyFitnessPal and start eating at a deficit. But...

    >eating shit processed food in place of whole unprocessed food
    >eating a little protein here and there vs tons of protein to support lean muscle growth
    >relentless daily cardio (just leaves you hungry and skinny fat) instead of lifting weights
    >tracking "most" meals but giving themselves free reign to eat "free meals" on weekends, which completely un-does the caloric deficit they created in the week

    And then the ultimate is
    >Being really motivated for the first three weeks, then losing interest and slipping back into old habits.

From my own weight loss efforts, it's insane how long it takes to actually lose meaningful weight. I didn't see results on the scale for a few weeks, and I was eating at a strict deficit — it just takes patience and consistency. Most people don't have that.

I'm trying to analyze this like a scientist looking at a population of animals. What's changed, what is affecting everyone, because this issue is widespread and multi faceted. Here's what I see:

    1) the increasing prevalence of processed foods, and the metabolic effects on the population as a whole over time

    2) an increasingly sedentary lifestyle for the average person

    3) a culture of instant gratification, people are less patient

    4) social media has increased how much we rely on comparison to others for our self esteem. Much easier to feel discouraged.

    5) overwhelming amounts of misinformation

I think people trying to sell us things are responsible for most of it, intentionally or not. They are looking for ways to exploit how the brain works. Overtime this fundamentally inhibits the brain's ability to function normally and rationally.

Obviously, not all individuals in a population react the same to the same stimuli. Our biological makeup and the infinite variations in each individual's environment will have an impact. But trends in the population indicate trends in the environment. This is a much bigger issue than "people are weak and have no discipline"

Modern processed food are hyper palatable. Food scientists and technologists will engineer a product that drives our senses wild and then we yearn for more. We like sugar, we like fat. Sugar is a cheap ingredient. Organisations only care about profits, if healthy whole foods sold well they would make it. But they've realised it doesn't. They should be held responsible, but they don't care because money is coming in.
One of the biggest ironies in the modern first world, accessibility of food is too easy which results in obesity. Maybe it's cosmic justice.

Low dopamine. People don’t quite understand how important your brain chemistry is. Willpower is a direct function of your dopamine levels. Low dopamine means you are much more likely to choose the low effort path.

    >All brain regions currently implicated in effort-based decision-making utilize dopamine released from neurons in the ventral tegmental area as a neurotransmitter. This observation suggests a central role for dopamine in effort-based decision-making. Such an idea gains support from studies demonstrating that effortful choices can be reduced by 6-hydroxydopamine (6-OHDA) lesions of the nucleus accumbens (Salamone et al., 1994), as well as by systemic treatment with the D2 receptor antagonist, haloperidol

So as a fatty, I can explain.
I've lost about 30lbs in the last 2 months, finally it's easy for me, I'm actually making progress.

Anyway, the average obese person is actually very deficient in key minerals and vitamins that your body needs from their very very poor diets that they've been on for years or decades. (Often obese people didn't have a balanced diet as children)

For this reason I think their body isn't working correctly and they are largely overestimating their TDEE/BMR. For me, I cannot lose weight unless I exercise at least 4-5 days a week, I have been losing more as I've sorted my own hormone and mineral deficiency issues out.

The fat people I know, including myself (until recently), either order fast food all day every day, eat out, or eat prepackaged meals. They might be eating their fat carbs and protein, but they won't be eating healthy.

CICO works, but the body has to be working correctly in the first place.
It's hard at first because your body tells you it's starving too, so many people give up after a few weeks, after a few more weeks this went away for me.

But I think it might be an exaggerated hunger response in obese people because they genuinely are undernourished and need actual vitamins, so the body signals hunger.

Fat people don't eat vegetables or fruit, either, the most is the lettuce and maybe a tomato slice on a burger.

Mineral deficiency does not prevent weight loss in fact it accelerates it, you can also literally fix most mineral deficiencies in days to weeks.

As a former fatty I can explain. It ALL comes down to willpower. My BMI at its highest was fricking 38. Now it's 23. One day I decided I don't want to live like this anymore and just said frick it I'll lose weight or die trying. I stopped stuffing my face and grinded it out. It was easy. Looking back I don't even know how I lived like that. Everyone can do it with self control, willpower, and a desire to be better. EVERYONE. There is no excuse other than being weak willed. If someone tries cutting calories and it doesn't work cut more. Still no progress? Cut more. Don't eat at all if that's what it takes to make the scale move.

Yup, everyone is just coping right now. Life is so easy when you just stop coping and try to improve yourself. It's like a whole culture is trying to figure out why they're depressed, ugly, lazy, fat, and stupid but they're not allowed to just say "me and my actions."
The COPE has to be something that is pointed out, everyone COPES at some point and it's usually terrible for them.

There exists a large discrepancy between what people think they eat and what they actually consume. This behavior is well documented. See https://www.nejm.org/doi/10.1056/NEJM199212313272701

      >Low energy expenditure was thus excluded as a mechanism of self-reported diet resistance. In contrast, the subjects in group 1 underreported their actual food intake by an average (±SD) of 47±16 percent and overreported their physical activity by 51±75 percent. Although the subjects in group 1 had no distinct psychopathologic characteristics, they perceived a genetic cause for their obesity, used thyroid medication at a high frequency, and described their eating behavior as relatively normal (all P<0.05 as compared with group 2).
      >No, I only eat 1200 calories a day!

My wife literally deluded herself into eating half a bag of gas station donuts without remembering every 2 days. It took a literally addiction intervention to snap her out of it. Surprise, she lost 2lb in 12 days after cutting cold, despite the cubical cows grazing in the office.

i dieted for a week (no breakfast, one steamed potato for lunch, and ate a 900~800 calorie or lower dinner) and got over that hump and it just became routine since.

is the body routine adjustment of a fatty much different? i'd imagine their stomachs would get smaller by then and they'd have to lose weight?

Odds are they would have loose skin but their body would eat any "unneeded" parts, this means that they'd lose a huge amount of scar tissue, their stomach would shrink, and their organs would have a long time off to recover. Basically all of their organs would likely be several times healthier from getting so much time off, afterwards they might not even WANT to eat 8 meals a day. As long as they get the electrolytes and minerals they need they'll come out of it much healthier than before.

my god, so they won't even die from normal people diets. i can't tell you how many times i've heard that excuse to a point it was plausible because it's hard to imagine what their body had adapted to. but i see it's all in their head as delusion.

CICO has nothing to do with satiety. a healthy meal that puts your organs to work into breaking it down would last you much longer and save you calories in the long run because you'd feel less hungry.

meanwhile, a heavily processed mcdonald's meal of the same caloric worth would have your body break it down much quicker and makes you feeling hungrier faster.

no it isn't. Some days you just want to gorge (4000-5000 kcal). Then you're fasting a day or eating shitty 1500kcal for half a week to cover it which is even worse torture. Whereas if your BMR is higher you can just binge and then eat normal. This is why being born with naturally high BMR makes such a big difference. The people who say genetics have a point. The extra kcal is much bigger than it sounds when you average it out

At the end of the day if you actually have to cook or buy your food getting 2,300 calories a day is a lot. Unless you have some obese enabler or spend hours a day cooking eating that much in a day actually takes work.

About 3 slices of deep pan pizza, a couple of beers, a cheese sandwich and a bag of chips, actually. Not 'a lot' at all.

No, it's all about not eating goyslop or garbage advertised as healthy. It was easy giving up the shitty processed crap and just eating more meat and eggs, which are far more satiating and far less calorie dense. Fatties fail because they force themselves to eat like rabbits because greens are "le healthy" for some reason, and then relapse because that diet is depressing.
If I crave some "KFC" I just bake chicken breast in olive oil, then dip it in BBQ sauce or ketchup. I can eat a kilo of that shit and it's like 1200 kcal.

Because of blow-out tastebuds. When you stop eating goyslop oats with blueberries tastes like actual good food, unsweetened tea has a mildly sweet flavor (if steeped properly), boiled eggs are always shit though unless you put hotsauce on them, turn into a great meal with hotsauce.

I took medication for an infection. heavy antibiotics that killed most of my gut bacteria.
after that I started gaining weight like crazy.
took half the package of the pills and the other half was still left.
                I felt like shit. literally.
feeling the need to reverse this curse I decided to eat the other half of the back too and... not it gets a bit disgusting... pushed used toilet paper from my gf (shes very slim) up my ass.
my farts started smelling like hers and luckily, I lost all the weight I gain again.

even a single cheat day where i eat fast food, i'd feel like i'm borderline vomiting and end up tasting my food again in liquid form as it releases itself as stomach acid burps and i'd feel sleepy all day with itis. this never used to happen in my early 20s and younger. happens with overly spicy food too, but only from take-out places and rarely if i cook spicy stuff for myself.

He’s taken to waking up around about 5am in the morning and is on at her all day and most of the night. Constantly grabbing at her and wanting to be held, screaming if not. He’s also trying to walk and grab/ pull over/ eat everything in sight so you constantly have to watch him. Wife’s also been ill so she’s just been stress eating to cope with the exhaustion and stress. She broke down crying last night, she’s depressed and sick of being in a rut fitness wise, no motivation. I feel bad for her, I know he’s hard work and pretty baby she was very fitness focused. Don’t know how to help her.

    >What are most of them doing wrong?
    - not tracking calories which often leads to them eating way too less and then overeating
    - no active lifestyle and no feel for how much calories certain activities burn compared to how much calories a piece of cake or a bag of chips has
    - often they are not dieting AND working out, just doing one or the other
    - unrealistic expectations of weight loss + how their body will look, most of the time losing fat does not equal to looking better if you're not working out as well
    - no discipline, even if tracking calories and working out many fail, as with everything after a while people get filtered out and only the strong remain

Most normies don't put in the work to inform themselves and they have a bunch of excuses most of the time as well. The excuses might all be legit but that doesn't matter.

added story time, my parents wanted to lose some weight and had a 'competition' who could lose 3kg first. I was just starting to cut so I decided to join in. They teased me for tracking calories but then looked very surprised when I told them I lost the 3kg a few weeks after. I don't get why people don't like to track calories. It's like refusing to use a calendar. Why not relieve yourself from the burden of cluttering your limited brain with useless information that can easily be tracked and forgotten?

I was up at about 270, I have sustained 190 and I'm doing a second cut down to a target of 170 or so. Fasting (48 hour, every couple of weeks, more in the beginning) and cutting out carbohydrates was required for me to reset my hunger signals. I can eat like a normal human now. Before that, I tried for years to lose weight but as, as best as I can describe it, addicted to sugar and carbohydrates. It took hard work and willpower, certainly, but fasting and cutting carbs was instrumental to resetting my body's relationship to food. Dr. Now gets this right when he tells these people to start with no bread.

it all comes down to willpower. Fatties already have shitty physical habits which damage their brains, basedbean oils, oxidation from vegetable oils, microplastics, red40, high fructose corn syrup etc.
On top of that they supplement this with shitty habits that further damage their brains porn, sportsball, videogames, scrolling tiktok endlessly etc. They have killed their soul, they have no inner monologue because there is no one left to talk to inside. So of course they cant order themselves to accomplish such a task.

    I’ve been thinking about this.

At least 4 in 5 people are completely incapable of any critical analysis or questioning of ideas without an external source guiding them. These are the people that are programmed to listen to authority, and to react emotionally rather than logically when the authority is questioned, because essentially these people have tied their personal egos and identities to the prevalent authorities and institutions of society. Of course they really don’t have a choice - in a collective consciousness sense it makes sense that most people are literal slavebots who perfectly follow routines, accept information without thinking about it, and vigorously defend it also without thinking about it.

Of course on some level we are all capable of committing logical falsities, being irrational, etc. But if a person appears completely incapable of logically or rationally questioning things that they aren’t explicitly told by a higher authority to do so, to the point that trying to get them to do it results in rage and frustration, you can’t convince me this person isn’t a hylic whose sole purpose is to give power to the humans who have capability of independent thought. It seems strongly correlated with IQ but there are exceptions

Most people don't understand that a 5/10 diet you will be able to stick to long term is infinitely better than a 10/10 diet that you won't. Only a minority of people have the inherent willpower to stick to diet of salads, tasteless lean meats and zero treats for years. These are the people who end up being the poster boys of fitness so their advice, while working for them, will not work for most of the population. However as they are the visible poster boys this is the advice everyone sees. Actual advice that will work for the average lowish/moderate willpowered person:
Do an OK diet and you will have no problem sticking to it for years.

It’s because they make excuses and don’t actually do what’s necessary. Losing weight is an incredibly basic, easy formula. You simply need to burn more calories than you take in. No amount of cops changes this simple fact. So if they aren’t losing weight it means they’re diet isnt as good as it needs to be, they aren’t working out hard enough, or both
