Why do so few people workout?

It's probably the easiest thing you can do in modern society that yields results. What's stopping our population from doing it?

humans are short term oriented, they prefer instant gratification which working out is not.

That's not true considering our country revolves around being long-term oriented (College, investments, job training, apprenticeship, etc.)

And how many people succeed in this?

Meanwhile Steve just flipped a key and made $20k in one hour.

But Steve might just get shot or go to prison, it is the successful businessman who writes your paychecks, and some of them are just born as heirs to huge companies.

The proletarian are conditioned to be workers and to aspire towards well-paid employment as the entire purpose of their life. That is why they try to push everyone into college degrees.

Lifting weights and getting strong is hard work that you choose to do completely by your own force of will and drive.

It's for people who understand struggle and are willing to suffer for success, which is why everyone does not lift weights or even exercise.

        >College
People go there to party and make connections. They study mostly on adderal for 2 weeks straight once per semester
        >investments
Most of "investment" is speculation on the level of gambling
        >job training
Short term and instantly yields results
        >apprenticeship
Short term and instantly yields results

Don't want to be physically weak in the lockup

Because you might get physically dominated

A lot of people never developed the habit. So the few times per year (or per decade) they make a point to try to start they usually fail for various reasons.
    >do too much early on (so it takes a lot of willpower to keep it going)
    >get injured early on by not knowing own limits
    >have an all or nothing mentality
    >spoil own results with bad diet (usually because they know nothing about actual nutrition)
    >get sabotaged by crabs in their immediate family/social circle
    >falling for expensive ‘quick fix’ training/diet schemes
Building an exercise habit (for people who never had it) generally means being realistic and starting small, keeping it simple and knowing the basics.
Most people will just never get that far
