On a well designed rack you can be in front of the catches and just roll the bar off with minimal effort instead of having to get up right underneath the weight and throw it off.

Those are some shitty benches because all the benches I have ever seen usually have 2-3 heights for placement.
Sad thing is the whiny fricker probably could've found a full-size rack 2nd hand for 1/3 of the price...and he'd still be b***hing about something.

I'm guessing that knob on the back screws into a hole in the frame and the next hole down is too low for you. You could just measure up exactly where you want the hooks and drill a new hole for them.
