I like doing martial arts. It is my passion in life and I am going to open my own school in the future. It has given me confidence to stand up to bad people and criminals, and it has given me something to put all of myself into

Based, which arts and did you ever compete?

        Anonymous

I do JKD blend and MMA. So a mix of boxing, muay thai, catch wrestling, wing chun, and my favorite, kali (filipino stick and knife fighting).
I have not competed yet but I plan to start soon. My previous schools weren't big on competing in MMA but now I go to one that facilitates sparring and competing.

Bro wtf are you me? I also want to open my own gym

Frick yes, let's do it. Don't give up on your dream, my friend. It is a hard road but it will all be worth it to share the gift of martial arts, and always have a life of learning and growth. No amount of money can buy that.

Based, I hope to get started one day when I have enough cash to attend a school.

It's the best thing I ever did and I highly encourage you to take the plunge and just do it. I only spend about $150 a month on it, and that's with two different memberships each costing $75 per month. Very worth it, for all it has given me in return.
I was actually convinced by a guy on /k/ to get into Kali, which led me to the rabbit hole. I am eternally grateful to that anon, and I hope I can convince others to do the same. It is life-changing

i lift to become stronger, healthier, and more attractive. i need to be able to protect and provide for my loved ones during my lifetime.

treat others as well as i can, trying to minimize the negative impact i have on others lives, and easing the workload best i can. my mistakes can be used to help others avoid doing the same. i used to be self sacrifical to a fault, but ive since developed healthy boundaries as it wasnt fair to my own life either.
we dont know what happens after life, least i can do is not make things shitty for others while theyre here.

To feel content, to feel happy, to feel that I haven't wasted the potential I had been given to live a long and healthy life without disabilities providing me lots of comfort and opportunities and etc that some people with limbs lost and similar other problems might never get the chance to experience

He'll, there's even fat people who's never felt the runners high or a pump before, how ungrateful

I’ve hated my body since I was 10 but was always just told to accept and love myself by everyone around me, so I listened to them and did so but after 14 years of that I still hated myself and finally decided to do something about it rather than keep waiting for it to magically stop bothering me. Starting up my sole goal was to look better but the more I got into it the more I enjoyed the feeling of improvement and mastery as well as the opportunity to be doing stuff outdoors. It feels wrong to not work out now, and I enjoy doing it for its own sake too. As a side benefit, other people find me more attractive now too and also after shedding some excess weight I found a whole extra inch of dick length that had been hiding away down there, so good stuff all around.

General fitness and to help with Muay Thai. I have no real interest in bodybuilding and feel strength training hits diminishing returns after like 6 months in. Benching 200lbs is more than enough for me, any more benefits aren't worth trying to push through 10 hours of cardio a week.

Here are some: Get out my anger, helps work out what I'm trying to move towards in life, self revelations, sick boners, possibility of fugging QTS, incredible anxiety relief, high from marijuana gets better, people are nicer to me which gets me places, think more clearly, guitar playing ability gets better for some reason, concentration goes up thereby not needing israelite ADD pills, decreased my desire to drink or do other drugs besides weed (quit stimulants and benzos) and finally FUGGING QT AZN WAIFU GRILLS

I'm autistic and it's fun. I was really out of shape until a few years ago, one of my MMO buddies that had been lifting since high school put it to me like this: "You do all your dailies right? And that's an hour or more each day for a small increase. What if I told you there was a daily you could do that only takes 30-45 minutes a day that increases your Strength, Stamina, Charisma, Vitality, and Health? Would you do it?"

I've been lifting/running/swimming every day since.

I lift to be a strong old man. I was brought into this world by others, I was a helpless infant. I will not die helpless, I will dig my own grave, I will choose my own coffin, and then I will sleep. It is in my blood, the men of my family die well into their 90s, but none lift. Even with poor health choices they all tend to just drop dead. I will show the next generation of my family how lucky we are to be able to die with sharp minds and working muscles.

I've had a drink or two so here we go. Multiple reasons.

I'm 31. My joints have had issues all my life, working out helps keep my ligaments strong to prevent my joints from beeing too loose. Seeing how the middle aged to older guys I know who are/were mostly sedentary vs the ones that are/were mostly active is a night and day difference. I don't give too many fricks about looking like a roider or being able to squat 8 pl8s, I don't want to get to be 60 and be hobbling around like an old man. And I don't want my joints to get to a point where they can barely move, or where they hurt from doing nothing at all. A great example is my grandparents, vs my girlfriend's grandparents. both are in their mid to late 80s, but the difference is night and day between them. My grandfather once had his widowmaker heart valve 100% blocked, and still survived it, just needed a stint. He recently had a minor stroke, and is still kicking. Can move and lift things around his house with ease. My girlfriend's grandfather on the other hand, is nearly completely sedentary. I honestly thought the man and his wife were in their late 90s when I first met them - can barely move, require assistance going up and down stairs, and just look and sound weak. I want to be at a point where I can stay active so I'm not having to rely on someone just to move around my own home.
Another reason - I work in IT, mostly an office job. I want to mog all of my coworkers, which I pretty much already do since IT folks only come in two flavors - overweight fatass or beanpole. Seriously, develop just a tiny bit of arm muscle and these guys think you're God
Final reason I care to jot down, hearing the phrase "one day you'll pick you your kids for the last time". That won't be me.

To keep my wife's admiration and lust.
To have people showing respect just due to my size alone.
        To practice discipline.
And very soon, to inspire my future children in keeping a healthy body, and being someone they can look up to enough so they'll want to follow my mentoring and have a healthy mentality and moral values. I would have less credibility as a mentor if I was a fat blob whose wife would only put up with.
