Why doesn't everyone do one arm lat raises?

Why doesn't everyone do one arm lat raises? Feels so much better on the shoulder joint, more control and range of motion

Because the exercise would then take me twice as long (2 arms). Time is money OP, and I'm cashing hourly cheques

Not actually cheques, like as in money. I'm broke. More the metaphysical kind.

thats why i do 4x8 pullups / dips etc, with only 1min rest times

i get out of bed, eat, workout takes 10min max (incl. warmup), and off to work

One arm? That's some fricking twink shit. I do two arm lat raises like a fricking bird of prey.

unless jobless parasite, doing one handed stuff is a huge waste of time, my lifting time needs to be extremely optimized so i can still have free time for my hobbies after a long day of work
hobbies are the most important part of the day so i don't become a soulless unhappy npc thanks to job

I feel like picrel's degree of shoulder rotation is gonna be more front delts and traps. That aside, why would you make stabilization an additional issue during the execution of the exercise? Do both sides at the same time.

Single-arm/leg movements are a waste of time.

I prefer lying lateral raises, much more focused on side delts

I do them on the cable machine. Love it.
I have short rest periods so it doesn't take too long, and my shoulders are underdeveloped so it's worth it.

because i do them on a machine. infinitely superior than dumbbells.

If you’re going to do unilaterals, might as well do cables or lying db rather than standing db.

I honestly never though if doing them this way. I love lat raises, gonna try them out right now.

Okay, tried a couple. Seems like it would limit the amount of weight you can use. Not sure about the bigger ROM either.
My lat raise form is pretty clean and I have no shoulder issues, I'll stick to the normal variant.

Yeah man if you like the way you do them keep it up. I do cables since I like em and weight is secondary to gains or reps to me on this exercise.

What are all of your exercises for rear delts that arent cables?

I like unilateral rear delt flys. This anon

Rows, rear delt flyes, dumbell face pulls, Arnold raises, band exercises (if those count)

has some good ones too like face pulls and rows.

How can I honestly do this lift. My left shoulder has been dislocated 4 times in my life. It is extremely weaker than my right. Even visually there is a major difference. Do I use low weights and as many reps as possible for left, while using right for 8-12 reps or find a happy medium for both left and right to equal same reps. Or just don't bother with this type of lift?

My left shoulder is a bit messed up too and what worked for me was not going too crazy with the ROM and using perfect form with extremely light weights. Not even just avoiding swinging, but slowing down the eccentric, making sure that at the bottom the weight stops completely and I'm getting no assistance by starting the rep with a swing, and making sure to pause at the top and really feel the squeeze. I'm only using like 5 kg per arm with this method but the pump is crazy so I assume it's working. If nothing else, I don't get shoulder pain which I used to back when I used form which most people would consider strict (body completely stationary but no pausing or controlling the eccentric). If that doesn't work, you could try half reps or even completely different exercises, facepulls for instance hit your side delts too.

Thanks, I'm going to give it a shot, appreciate it. It would be nice to not have shoulder pain after a lift like this. Quite a few times I get pain later on so bad it wakes me up at night

You can do both arms at the same time whit out the discomfort in the shoulder joint, just do it in this same position as that image and use the cue of "pushing the weights to the side" instead of "raising your hands"
It works for me, try it today
