Why doesn't everyone just weighted calisthenicsmax?
There's a guy in my gym that does weighted dips/pull ups and everyone is always paying attention to whatever he does, both chicks and guys, he is not even that big or lean btw and he doesn't even put alot of weight on his belt

I lift in a bubble of homegym or mental space.
I do the lifts I enjoy.
Currently that doesn't involve dips or pull-ups, but at the end of this cut I might try them again.
        Or when I get stronger.

I find it's more about what is farther out of reach. a 4pl8te bench is incredibly impressive... unless you have a 3pl8te bench.
        Same with pull ups.

People that only do calisthenics movements are very often light manlets who are insecure about being relatively weaker at the barbell lifts. Similar thing in reverse, people who actively avoid e.g. pullups are very often strongfat guys who are insecure about being too fat to be functional
You should do both to be a complete athlete. Even if a 110kg guy can do just 10 strict pullups that's as impressive as a 70kg guy doing 10 with +40kg weighted

It's more apt to tank vs dps builds. Even though we call them powerlifters, they focus on strength, which is different from actual power.

How can you improve on body weight dips? I cannot do a single one. How can I build it up? There is a machine that helps you but I don't understand it.
