Losing weight is not slowly dying

We are not genetically programmed to sit on our asses all day

Obesity is slowly dying, yet fat fricks seem to enjoy the journey to that.

Modern food makes your appetite hormones like leptin and ghrelin out of whack. Really humans should only be eating raw food and would always be very trim. Even something like 220 pounds is a total anomaly, a bizarre unprecedented situation that would never have happened in millions of years of evolution, at least with 99.9% of human frames. While all the fat is toxic, your body is also understandably concerned about wtf is going on if you're losing so much.

You're probably going too fast and for many or even most people that's unsustainable. I lose 1kg a month, I don't see the point going any quicker, I barely notice I'm on a diet because the deficit needed is so small, so I could easily keep on this diet for years with no problems.

Doesn't have to be. If you feel miserable and tired and obsess about food, then your deficit is too high, eat more.
Furthermore, being on a deficit for too long, even a fairly light one, will eventually reduce your metabolism. That's your body's effort to conserve energy since losing fat is not exactly something it enjoys doing.

Scientifically, that makes diet breaks and refeeds extremely useful. Studies have shown that refeeds lasting for at least 48 hours allow the body to get back to normal.
When I stopped being in a deficit 24/7 and simply ate at maintenance on the weekends (allowing myself to also give in to some junk food cravings that stayed within my macros/calorie budget), my weight has been consistently going down without me wanting to die every day. Also, no cravings all week since I satisfy them regularly.

TL;DR, eat a little more and stop being in a deficit 24/7, give yourself 48h of maintenance eating once in a while.

      >will eventually reduce your metabolism
correct me if I'm wrong but as I understand your TDEE goes down around like 200 calories on an extended extreme calorie deficit which is significant but not enough to stop you in your tracks.

I haven't ever seen exact numbers, where did you get that from? That sounds interesting depending on how they tested this

Could be BS but I got it from this vid here

          ?t=163
I didn't remember it completely accurately though, it seems like the NEAT portion of your energy expenditure could be reduced as much as 15% due to consistent cardio and general weight loss.

Sharpen your knife bro. Almost all store bought knives aren't properly sharpened at the factory. Try buying a commercial knife to see the difference in sharpness.

Because you are doing it wrong in every way. I've lost 16kg in the last 6 months and never felt hunger or weak.

I refuse to explain how to train properly since this entire board is a dumpster but here's something for you. Learn how to cook vegetables, they are really damn good if you have even the most basic cooking skills and you'll get to eat them pretty much unlimited amounts regardless of what type of diet you're doing. Never feeling hunger while cutting weight makes it so much more tolerable.

that's not an especially impressive figure, I've lost 25kg in 3 months once.

decided to cut for the first time, im skinny fat ~ 145 trying to go down to ~130. cut my caloric intake to around 1400-1500 a day and doubled my workout time.

havn't really had a problem with hunger yet, but i eat as a vegetarian for 80% of my meals and you get a lot of mass when you eat vegetables. smoking weed sucks now though cuz I can't turn my brain off and pig out.

How long will it take me to lose these 15 pounds? I just want to remove my pudge so my pants fit better and I don't have to buy a new wardrobe.

I had to stop smoking weed for cuts because I become absolutely insatiable when high.

cutting weed is out of the question. its my only vice. I'm trying to swallow water like crazy and save calories so that I can afford a protein bar when the munchies hit.
I got chubby by ripping the bong and eating chips and salsa every night. I would seriously be a skeleton without weed

Believe me I get it man dieting + cutting weed out fricking sucks but that's what I had to do personally to control my urges. If you can manage a successful cut while smoking more power to you.

yeah i've been rocking it for about two weeks now, figured i'd need to run the calorie deficient until the fall if I wanted to make my goals. I don't have weed 24/7 and I stopped purchasing snacks (only eating during meals now) so when I get the munchies I just roam my apartment looking for bullshit to consume and there isnt any.
hoping I can pull through, when I hit 125lbs hoepfully I'll have culled my munchies habit and can maintain the weight. I just love smoking so much, i'm afraid of the lung damage so I'm going to start looking into creating my own edibles once my plants are done

I remember when I was smoking really heavy I'd have zero appetite until the first joint of the day so in a weird way heavy smokers can sort of use it as a weight loss tool. It's the moderate smokers that have it working against them, fighting the urge not to eat everything in the fridge is just too much.

that's basically where I am at right now. I can leverage my lack of an appetite to last between smaller meals and then I just toke up before my larger meal of the day.
I could probably go a few days without eating just fine due to this effect weed has. it definitely does go away after a longer break and when your brain chemicals rebalance. what a wonderful plant

Losing a significant amount of weight quickly was a reason to panic for prehistoric man. We’ve evolved to make it a miserable experience. That’s just the way it is. Its not easy, but it’s worth it.

72kgs 173cm here I can easily cancel out that affirmation,I have been losing weight for many months.
Just adding a grilled cheese sandwich with lots of cheese and butter kickstarted my weight gain
Who cant add a single delicious grilled cheese sandwich to their diet?
It has fats, protein, carbs and is fattening as frick around 700kcal

This is bullshit, just adding some mayo, cheese and extra nuts to your everyday diet gets you a 0 effort +500kcal over the baseline that you need in order to bulk up
