No this is why taking advice from IST is 50/50 at best. Womens spines are more flexible than a mans spine and they do have a more pronounced lordotic curve. They can also hyper extend the lordotic curve where as men, generally (key word), do not. this is why chest up ques to flatten the spine during deadlifts need to be explained to them since they can basically reverse catshit lift their spine if they exaggerate the chest up que.
She's doing a highbar squat while leaning forward. Plus her back is bent like a worm. I hope you don't hurt yourself squatting.
Her feet are too wide and pointed out
Then do low bar
dont force high bar if your body doesnt want to do it
youre going to hurt your neck like that
what's wrong with having forward lean while doing high bar?? I don't get it. Not everyone can stay perfectly vertical the whole way through. Maybe at the very bottom, but I'm sure that forward lean is fine when going into and coming out of the hole. Just cause you lean forward doesn't mean you should switch to lowbar
>forward lean in squats means you use less glutes
More forward lean means more glutes though. If I let myself lean forward more, I definitely feel it in the glutes and hammies
exactly, idk why that anon thinks more forward lean = more quads and less posterior chain. It's like 90% of fit doesn't lift, or at least they haven't squatted enough weight to know anything about squatting. They just repeat Rippetoe
huh? I have forward lean and the only thing that reliably grows is my ass.
its dangerous
use less weight and brace. Vertical is great if you have short legs, but the only way I get vertical is with front squats.

why is it that when women squat, their form looks like this?
I see nothing wrong besides the neck/head. If she wanted more quad activation letting the knee travel forward would be better.
I squat wide since it allows me to actually go ass to grass.

no, I just fell for memes about only sitting back and not letting your knees travel forward back in the early 2010's.
It's just something you notice when you do this style of squat, ends up being lots of low back and glutes, some quad but really not much.
Excessive forward lean might be dangerous, but it's not dangerous to have enough forward lean that lets you keep the weight properly distributed over your feet and to help you keep your balance. If you're bracing properly it's fine. Trying to keep too vertical isn't ideal, cause people tend to force excessive spinal extension. It all depends on people's anatomy so I don't get why everyone itt is saying any forward lean at all in a high bar squat is bad
im not
im saying forward lean to the EXTENT of the girl in the op pic is dangerous to do high bar
that anon said he squats like her
am i supposed to assume that is untrue?

Even for highbar that pic doesn't show excessive forward lean, assuming the weight is distributed mostly over the middle of her feet. Anatomy makes a huge difference from person to person. For some people, they will have lots of forward lean, the op pic is not excessive. It's a lot, but it's not excessive. It's hard to judge people's form based on a screenshot, but there are certainly other things wrong with her form that have nothing to do with her forward lean.
this is not lordosis, it's anterior pelvic tilt which is something to avoid. Not only does it stress the lumbar spine, it also limits your depth and negates your core brace. Try it yourself--- brace by exhaling and lowering your ribs down to your navel, and then if you put your pelvis into anterior tilt, it perfectly undoes your brace. It's a huge flaw in lifting form for this reason alone
idk why looking down is considered correct other than rippetoe memeing it into existence
it always feels super uncomfortable and wrong to me to not keep my head up
tom platz says you should look like youre dunking into water with your nose vertical, this feels most natural
Her feet are too wide and pointed out
>t. DYEL
youre supposed to squat with toe pointed out and wide stance is fine depending on your anatomy
>idk why looking down is considered correct other than rippetoe memeing it into existence >it always feels super uncomfortable and wrong to me to not keep my head up >tom platz says you should look like youre dunking into water with your nose vertical, this feels most natural
You should be keeping your neck straight is the key. If you're doing a leaning forward shart squat like the girl in OP pic is doing, you should look down. If your back is vertical like Platz's when he squats, you should look forwards.
They squat for dickenbooty. To achieve said dickenbooty, it's imperative to use form that biases the glutes, IE leaning forward to make the squat more of a hinge. While logically sound this is actually a mistake. Deep ATG squats activate glutes much better because squatting out of the hole is completely dependant on your glutes which are in their most lengthened, stretched position.
Can you be more specific? I dont see anything wrong except looking up in the mirror, which guys do as well.
Her spine is not straight. Likely due to lordosis from habitually sticking her butt out
do we know for a fact that women should have the exact same back posture as men during squats? they are shaped differently down there

The problem is she's doing a low bar squat except the bar is high. She should put the bar lower.
Stupid bros

Sure if you want to skip glute activation

Youre just doing a deadlift at that point

Over exaggerated hyperlordosis
Bigger butts make it seem like it's curved but it's not

and?
Her feet are too wide and pointed out
and not in my mouth

i do squat pretty vertical so thats probably it
but i think most people do squat fairly vertical if youre going ass to grass
That's great form. Women typically have better form than men since women don't have test causing them to egolift.
not just women. Anyone with long legs, short torso ends up looking like that
Women have longer torsos than legs
they have awkward hip insertions compared to men
not always, some women have really narrow form. but mainly it's due to the wider pelvic angle. i also squat wide
Shorty can't help but go face down ass up for a bro on god
Biological (real) women's hips are seated differently to mens. Squatting is as natural for women as pissing in the sink is for men.
I always piss in the sink
be careful where you pee
There is no guarantee this piss will be clean what is he instant test cupping it all later?
something tells me he couldn’t care less if the literal piss of strangers isn’t clean
What the fucking actual fuck
I hate gays more than women.
first of all what the fuck is going on? where is this?
secondly, this man is terrifying and we should all be scared
its at a pride parade in Germany or Netherlands
that type of thing and similar are very common there
she has relatively longer femurs
Actually the form described is pretty good, Opie. Do you even lift?
nah, this
is good form
It's not
She's doing a high bar squat with low bar form
She should move the bar down
looks like she put her stance too wide, that's about it

who is she
Her shins are quite vertical
anterior pelvic tilt, i'm a man and i also squat like that because i have it
Then do low bar
dont force high bar if your body doesnt want to do it
youre going to hurt your neck like that
i look like that and squat like that
Because they're inviting you in.
I'm 6'9" and 270. I unironically want an ass like this.
How do I get an ass like this.
lots of squats, rdl's and weighted glute bridges have been my go to exercises
