Why is pizza so scrumptious when it has very little nutritional value? Can you make big gains by eating pizza if it has sausage and pepperoni on it? Is pizza a good bulking food? I need excuses to eat pizza because it's too delectable to resist.

This. Pizza is a crust with tomato and cheese on it. Anything else is extra you could put nails on it if you wanted and it would still be a pizza. If you are physically active pizza is pretty nice as you can carb load on the dough and use whatever you need for toppings.

I think a lot of people's grievance with pineapple stems from the fact that it's associated with meme hawaiian pizzas where it's paired with ham, which is an actual shit pizza topping. Pepperoni's spiciness compliments the sweetness of pineapple so much better

Sweet and spicy are good. One of my favorite pizzas ever was one with apple and gorgonzola.
The problem with pineapple on pizza is the texture. The fibrous nature means it loses a good bit of its juiciness when warmed up (unless you caramelize the flesh in some way like when you grill it). And when heated without that caramelization the fibers break apart too easily and you lose any "crunch" or good texture. Contrast this with an apple whose flesh is more sturdy and retains some of its texture when warmed. The other side is that pineapple does not blend well with many tomato sauces. There is something about the acidity and sweetness found in both that cause some strange contrasts that make them not meld together.
I'll admit, the only time I've had pineapple pizza was from shitty chain places, which means less than stellar ingredients. Often those pizzas have sauce that is more akin to seasoned ketchup, so that can cause my issue with the pineapple and sauce clash, and cheap tinned pineapple chunks already don't have great texture in the first place. I'd be willing to try a higher quality version at least once to confirm or deny my opinions.

          Anonymous

If you ask me the worst part of Hawaiian pizza is the ham, not the pineapple. Ham has no place on a pizza since it is literally just poor, American Prosciutto. Rubbery, too thick, and always comes entirely off when you bite it so you either have to put the rest of the ham slice back on the pizza loose, or you eat the whole thing and you end up with a slice of pineapple pizza.

            Anonymous

A huge part of it is the rest of the ingredients. Again, totally willing to concede that pineapple may be great on better quality pizzas. If you were to serve what Pizza Hut sells in Italy, you'd probably be stripped naked and flogged in the streets. But it does create very unpleasant flavor and texture outcomes with pineapple, and most Americans at least have their definitions of pizza defined by chains or local restaurants that develop flavors to compete with chains (half the pie shops in NYC taste like they're trying to ape Pizza Hut don't come at me with that disgusting guido shit)

I really can't understand the hate for pineapple. Sure, make sure you're not making a watery pizza, but I've always just thought of it as a normal pizza topping. Honestly pineapple and ham was always the second pizza choice here in my family right after just pepperoni.

210 grams of flour, 5 grams sugar, 3 grams salt, 3 grams instant yeast, 10 grams olive oil, 140 grams of 90 degree water. Let yeast bloom in water, combine dry ingredients, then mix all ingredients and let rise in the fridge for 3-5 days.

For sauce, 28 of San marzano tomatoes, blend that shit. Fry 4-8 cloves garlic in 1 tbsp olive oil, 1tbsp butter then cover with the tomato sauce. Plop a peeled onion in there and let it cook for 2 hours. Plop some basil, salt and pepper and some oyster sauce in at the end and let it go for 20 mins. Pick out basil and onion.

Day of, get the oven to as high as yours can go, put the stone/tray down and let it sit in the heat for 30 mins. Prep onions, peppers, pepperoni, sausage, 2/3 mozerella 1/3 parmigiana (not Parmesan) and whatever else your heart desires. combine everything, bake the pizza, and you just made the best damn pizza in your life.

sounds like some good shit. My pizzas are less complex but still pretty tasty imo.

120g flour. 4g garlic salt, 4g sugar, one packet of quick yeast (like7.4g or something) and as much Italian seasoning as you want. Oregano works good too. Then add 85g water around 110 degrees F. Let that shit rise for AT LEAST a half hour.

Hit am 8" (a small one) cast iron skillet with nonstick, spread the dough out. I use either sugar free barbecue sauce and chicken sausage or turkey pepperoni and normal pizza sauce. Don't use too much mozzarella that's where a bunch of calories will sneak up on you. I use about 85g max. Throw it in the oven at 425F for about 15-17 min. Enjoy a big ass personal pizza that comes in around 700-800 calories.

I make a dough with 40% whole wheat and 60% bread flour. Similar to what you describe, but I take half the water and mix it into the flours while I let the other half bloom the yeast. Ive noticed a stronger yeast aroma when I do this, however more flour winds up being needed as the dough gets too wet (i just add more during the kneeding phase).
I also had spices to the dough (usually garlic powder, and dried basil and/or oregano). I actually just made picrel with a homemade BBQ sauce, chicken cooked in my basic BBQ rub, some gouda, bacon pieces and a drizzle of sriracha.
I'm never going back to cheap restaurant shit again considering from start to finish it takes about the same time as ordering carry out and much less than delivery.

The casein in cheese turns to casomorphin in your body and latches on to your dopamine receptors. It's literally an addiction. It's easier for people to quit drinking coffee than it is for them to stop eating cheese. Casomorphin is form of opioid. Not shitting you. People have had an easier time quitting painkiller addiction than giving up cheese.

Not at all. How many people do you know that would have trouble giving up eating apples? Now ask yourself how many people you know that can give up eating cheese? Turns out even highly motivated people struggle to give up cheese. I've personally quit drinking coffee and it was much harder than I thought it would be. I even lapsed back into drinking it daily after having a single cup on a weak day. Quit again after that. It's still easier than giving up all dairy. Hell, I used to take benzodiazepines that were prescribed by my doctor, took them for half a decade, and they were easier to quit than giving up dairy is for me.

Your brain and your tongue absolutely love and crave the combination of fat and sugar. It is hard-wired survival instinct that served us before high calorie foods became readily available. Start with the understanding that bread is sugar. Examples:
    >cheese and crackers
    >PB&J
    >cheese bread (pizza)
    >ice cream
    >baked potato with butter, sour cream, cheese
    >pancakes and bacon or sausage
    >chocolate covered nuts (M&Ms)
    >cheesecake
Next time you are tempted by your kryptonite, think if it is sugar+fat. Most of the time it is.

For people that are trying to get IST, lose weight, cut, etc, it is helpful to recognize foods that might test your willpower. Like I said, it depends. Ideally you'd make the pizza yourself so you can add way more protein and make it a meal worthy of IST. The shit you order is basically empty cals since they slather oil and fat on it, actual garbage. By the way, the total of the shit you asked about is probably gonna be closer to 1500 calories, hell, maybe even 2000. Again, this all depends on if you make it at home though. I'd stick to just the pizza and a wing or two if you're doing OMAD bro.

I make homemade pizza during the chilly months, so October to April. Only once a week, but it is comfy and tasty AF

bread is a blood sugar bomb. its not natural to be spiking your blood sugar that aggressively that often. pizza is 90% bread. fricking terrible for you. eat white rice with beef and broccoli instead. maybe eat pizza once a month if you really have willpower that low

pizza has a kryptonite effect on me. I enjoy it but too much carbs and cheese. not good fit value per unit tbh.

The only problem with pizza is the dough. Make it yourself from recipe to see how much oil goes in it, making it unbelievably well hidden calorie bomb.
