The demand wasn't as great then. Nowdays every influencer has their own protein, baby formula and other products also need whey. Its no longer a whey-st product.
$220 for 11lb is 16x11 is 176 ounces for the average portion size. They're trying to charge $1.25 a scoop it seems. Thats just them adding the value that protein is 'worth' in normal food, fricking israelites.
Just because a food with 10g protein sells for an extra dollar doesn't mean my powder should reeeeeeee.

I have to wonder if the rise of fitness tiktok/instagram has created demand that's exacerbated the price of whey alongside current shortages/supply chain issues. I'd be curious to see a demographic study done to see how many people have become committed gymgoers and part of the "community", but I swear that fitness tiktok videos--- both instructional and "social media comedy sketch"--- have bled into every corner of my instagram feed. Even basic meme accounts repost some of these vids. It's like a ton of newbies got into lifting during the pandemic and has created a very specific subculture on social media

All I can say is that I'm glad the gym I go to isn't congested with people trying to take videos of themselves for social media or arranging elaborate scenarios for a tiktok comedy sketch. Imagine waiting 25 minutes to use equipment because some guy and his friends want to boost his clout online with a le epic funny gym sketch

You gotta keep in mind that the apps will feed you content you engage with and relate to. If you get into video games you’ll get video game content take over your feed. Go on Instagram and look up some random shit you don’t normally look at like pokemon or cooking and like a few posts and in the new couple days it’ll take your whole feed over. I’ve had a friend tell me statistically there’s been an increase in people going to the gym since before the pandemic but who knows if he’s just chatting bullshit.

Yes. Milk supply dropped. That's why they dumped all those millions of gallons liters down the drain.

nutricost on Amazon still has 5lb whey tubs priced around 50 dollars, as of a week ago. But that could change fast... last month when I reupped on my ON Whey tub, it was about 60. Now it's 75. This shit is getting absolutely out of control, I have no idea how they're marking up so insanely what is ultimately a byproduct of dairy processing

I saw 5lbs of ISO100 jump to $140, I think it was $70 or $80 before. Though that is sold through Target by a store I never heard of.
I did see some drink mix increase by almost 40% in a week, from $28 to $38
I was able to find 1lb of Orgain protein on sale for for $15.

Huge milk price increase. Factory on Lithuania that makes whey sells it at 15 eur per kg (1 ton and higher orders only). So 11lb or 5kg would have 75 euro base cost, now add all the marketing, shipping, packagind, taxes etc and you have what you have

I can buy three brands of protein powder.
One is 3.76 calories/gram of mix, 80% protein by weight, with a cost of about 3.5 cents per gram of mix. Onions protein.
    Another is 4 cal/g, 80% protein by weight, 4.6 cents/g. Whey protein.
The third is vastly cheaper, at 2.4 cents/g, also 4 cal per gram, but it's only 75% protein instead of 80%. Also whey protein.

Is this 75% vs 80% going to hurt me in the long run, or can I buy the cheaper one?

I live next to a city of 5 million and in the entire city I could not find a single market selling grass-fed liver. Even whole foods only has grain fed.

I contacted numerous farmers in my area using the Weston Price Foundation list of sellers and none of them had liver. Of the two that even sold it, one required you buys shares in the cow and both were out of stock. I live in a rich area as well.

That's why I laugh whenever you cum guzzlers come on here and talk about how ez it is to get your based and redpilled grass fed liver. I know you're full of shit and you do too.
