US cultural taboo against sugars. It's also why keto became so big.

In WW2, sugar was the first thing they rationed, and they spread propaganda about how sugar is bad so people wouldn't buy more. This stuck.

Sugar is obviously bad for you, people have known this for at least a decade if not longer and nobody, not even vegans, will tell you to replace things with sugar
On the other hand, PUFAs are not **obviously** bad, and if you’re on a plant-based diet, you’re stuck using them if you want a high-heat oil as ghee isn’t an option

yet this is what literally all amerisharts eat

my point still stand, cut out sugar and you'll be cutting most of the sneed oil at the same time.
the fact of the matter is you shouldn't be eating anything that: you didn't prepare/cook yourself (rice, lentils, beans, meats, eggs, dairy), or, that didn't come "ready" from nature (fruits, legumes, vegetables).

fruits, legumes and vegetables didn't come ready for nature, they're all the result of thousands of years of human selective breeding

Empty calories, fricks with your microbiota and causes your body to crave it the more you eat it, and causes systemic inflation. Not to mention having constantly elevated blood sugar levels leads to diabetes.

    >sugar is demonized

Okay, first of all, frick you, you goddam brainless corporate wienersucker.

Second of all, it's only in recent years that people have begun denouncing sugars. And if you were to ask most doctors and nutritionists, they still repeat the old nonsense about fats. The truth is, when the obesity epidemic began in the United States, people began asking questions. And guess who answered them? Why, Coca-Cola and Pepsi-Cola, of course! And they already had their studies done showing that people were getting fat because they consumed too much fat! Wow, ain't that convenient? And so the low fat fad started and you got low fat everything. They started demonizing meat around the same time, as well as eggs. Meanwhile, actual studies showed again and again that it was carbs, especially added refined sugar, which were to blame. It took decades for the truth to get past the corporate propaganda, but now people actually know. Coca-Cola and Pepsi-Cola should be forced to pay for the costs of the obesity epidemic they not only caused, but deliberately worsened through their lies and manipulation. And frick anyone who still gobbles down their propaganda.
