It's a humble brag you can drop almost anytime and 99 percent of people think it's some impossible physical task.
I like to run around 8m and do it on the busiest roads. In my head the wagecucks driving by everyday see me and wonder what I do for work that I can go out and run during commute. I'll mix it up and do 2 and 4 pm runs so they see me on the ride home.
And ppl do notice. I have so many people I meet say they have seen me running. Then I get to humble brag.
Yeah I'm doing training for an ultra marathon. Yeah I work 9-3 but take 2 hours a day to workout during work so I have more free time.
It's all about making people feel fat and bad about their shitty jobs. I don't even like running, I just love the mental image of the wagecucks driving by.
It's easy if you are confident which sounds stupid.
Apply at places that promise good QoL. Don't stress the pay, just find somewhere that in the interview you're comfortable and they answer your questions immediately.
Best jobs are when your boss is either very laid-back so long as works done or too timid to call you out on 2 hour lunches daily.
Why would you do poorgay shit to "shame" poorgays? Wouldn't the real flex be to fly into work on a helicopter or something? Biking or running usually just makes me thing "cringe vegan hippie" not "based rich man"
So fricking based and I know exactly what you are talking about. I'm ripped and love running on the busy creek trail gliding past an endless stream of fat lumbering cattle.
>be starting my 9-5 >on the road, see some homosexual in Vibrams power-walking on the sidewalk >he's carrying a knapsack for some reason >remember there's an IKEA 5m ahead >think nothing of it >shop around for a new bed frame after work since i broke the legs from fricking so hard >head to the cashier to finish my purchase >it's the same homosexual panting and sweaty
he mumbled something about "puerhvags" probably some swedish shit they make him say
I live on the beach in a very wealthy area, and nobody who runs is ever attractive, there is always something off about their physique or their face. Anytime I talk to these people they always overcompensate for these flaws that they are insecure about by being arrogant or humble braggy.
Most the wagecucks legitimately look better and live more interesting lives than people who run in public during their free time.
You basically confirmed all my prejudice I had from previous encounters with these insecure unaesthetic lanklet losers.
I've noticed that high-impact training leaves me looking worst off. When I take a few days off, the compliments start flowing in. It's odd and idk what to do about it. I want to look good but I also don't want to be fat.
?? i started running back when i was a fast food wagie because it’s free except for the shoes. it’s the cheapest way to exercise. why would you possibly think you’re flexing on poor people?
I put in 10 hours of hard work and train year round, in 3 month cycles for 44km and ultra. I never mention it, only comment on it when friends bring it up, since am not a fake. I also get epic admires and also mog you.
Do it for yourself, b***h.
it's middle upper class careerist kinda soulless white people
not really forced into sports as kids, and you don't have to learn anything technical or have extreme mental concentration, you don't have to work with other people or get comfortable in a locker-room environment, low barrier to entry but you can research and obsess over gear, and it's flagellation for the nonreligious
you should try to find white people who rowed or played lacrosse/hockey. also what are you?
?
I used to distance-run, I'd run 10-15 miles daily at 6:30ish pace. you need to be able to tune out pain and soldier on, and you need to get your form checked a few times, but unless you're an ultramarathoner or something I probably ran more than you and didn't have to learn anywhere near as much or have anywhere near as much dexterity and control as other things I've tried, and even lifting requires more immediate concentration for me
you just have to be thin, eat right, and have general resolve
>10-15 miles
Mediocre mileage >6:30ish pace
Slow pace >you just have to be thin, eat right, and have general resolve
For your numbers, you barely have to try.
yeah bro, I'm sure the hr ladies we're talking about are running 75+ miles a week
just keep telling me I wasn't a REAL runner unless I ran daily marathons at 5:00 pace and you can convince yourself I'm wrong, despite having done marathons, speed work, etc. when not just running to feel good
>you don't have to learn anything technical or have extreme mental concentration
I don't know man - I lift but I also run a marathon every year, have also done plenty of team sports. The only one where I have needed extreme mental concentration is the marathon from around mile 18 onwards. Most people on this thread will never run more than 10 miles so have no clue what they are talking about. Once you hit the wall where all your glycogen stores are gone and you're still managing to keep yourself running at a good pace one step at a time, then you know what real mental concentration and willpower is. Don't get me wrong, I love lifting heavy weights and playing rugby, but that shit is easy compared to running 26.2 miles.
it's a duller consistent thing instead of a shorter burst though, and it doesn't actually require that much coordination. maybe it's just genetics or what you did as a kid or something but it's way easier for me to just keep doing something consistently and just not give in
>you don't have to learn anything technical or have extreme mental concentration

I’m not the guy you’re responding to, but intense mental concentration isn’t necessarily the same thing as willpower.
For example, the biggest differentiator as you start to climb higher grade boulder problems isn’t finger strength or effort, it’s intense concentration. You have to learn to control your entire body as one unit and develop a line of tension from the toes to the fingertips. This is a very difficult skill to master. You don’t learn it just by climbing high-effort problems mindlessly. It takes hours of focused practice repeated over months and years to fuse the mind and body into one precise unit. You have to do short, intense repetitions with lots of rest in between.
I’ve never done powerlifting, oly lifting, sprinting, gymnastics etc but they look similar in this regard: intense moment-by-moment, muscle-by-muscle coordination that involves the entire body and soul for a few seconds.
I raced cross-country when I was younger and yes it requires effort but it’s a totally different type of “dumb” concentration where you just have to keep putting one foot in front of the other and shut out the pain/fatigue. I find this much easier. It requires no skill or physical abolity but makes you feel hardcore, hence why unathletic people like it. Long distance running and amateur fatboy powerlifting are very similar in this mindset: they fetishise dumb effort.
Most intermediate level climbers plateau because they never develop the intensity of precision and coordination, because that level of focus is exhausting. They just keep mindlessly climbing with shit form, blindly exerting lots of effort and then wonder why they never improve.
a very fittin' name for this board ain't it
took me a while to figure out the perfect angle from just one side
honestly, don't think I go it, so I took a bunch
its what you do when your body is inevitably too broken to play pickup soccer, basketball etc. Its pretty chill, wont put too much wear and tear on your joints like sudden stopping and starting from team sports and there's a lot of running clubs, 5ks/competitions and other aspects of the adult running community that make it fun enough to keep doing as you get older. You can talk all you want about how you could do powerlifting or something instead, but the injury rates for competitive lifting is moronicly high. Every single goddamn powerlifter has had at least one major injury if not multiple, this just isn't going to happen while running. I ran track 4 years in HS and suffered 0 injuries and did every event. I played soccer for 1 season and fricked my groin by reaching too far for a contested ball. I still haven't managed to put together more than 3 months of lifting without injury despite being obsessive with form and trying numerous programs, I imagine I'll be even worse as I get older.
this isn't true though - I ran all through highschool and now mostly lift because I can't run serious distance on anything harder then sand because of how much my joints where fricked by running. Like running injured both my hips and my knees. Long distance running will inevitably injure you (and not like weightlifting or soccer where probabilisticly eventually you'll experience and event that injures you, running will just gradually break your joints with every run). Like I can not emphasize how running should be done on soft surfaces in moderation.
Cool wall of text. Shame its anecdotal bullshit and contradicts actual research/data.
Run properly and you will strengthen every part of you. Body and mind
I can't fathom how a person could manage to frick their joints while still being just a child. Did you have the worst running form ever while also being overweight?
I lift on the side so I'm always right at the "overweight" threshold in terms of weight. Despite that, I've consistently run 10-40 miles per week for over 20 years with only minor and transient issues. Knees are in pristine shape, and I hike all the time.
I agree with the advice to find soft ground in general. Also, form is incredibly important, and y'all need to learn to run barefoot to distribute stress away from knees and into your tendons and muscles. The latter will heal and adapt much better than your meniscus.
>I can't fathom how a person could manage to frick their joints while still being just a child
Another anon, but probably because school coaches have no idea what they are doing and make kids do unreasonable mileage and ignore injuries. Then you can end up with ruptured tendons and whatever other overuse injuries.
>go back to sleep >wake up with no idea what day it is >wake up again and think I am in hospital and can’t remember what happened >wonder how much more I can take and still be alive >suddenly get an erection >start feeling extremely horny >start jerking off >start thinking about my ex-girlfriend >start thinking about her vegana and come >start feeling an overwhelming desire to shove my wiener into her pussy >suddenly realize that I’ve been absent from my work for 3 days already >start thinking about my work
>Why the frick do white people love endurance sports so much.
It's a relatively healthy sport that you can treat as a solo activity, meaning that people who are self-directed towards health and exercise will consider it. People who want to emulate professional sports or who are much more motivated by what their friends are doing end up falling into soccer, football, basketball, etc.

Ive been running for 5 years or so and the pros are >keep you thin >can be done in your own schedule >cheap >allows you to go outside do something >keep your cardio in check >fun to push yourself when you almost dying
But generally older people are into it because of flexible schedule. You can go before or after your job. Unlikely in a team sport where you need to have time.
Here's a picture of the Boston Marathon last year. Doesn't seem all that white.
Why do coloureds always feel the need to generalize? Is it because youre cultures are typically savage or poor so it's easier to spend your time resenting whitey instead of looking at what a mess you've made of community.
This is true. To see the racial composition of American runners it's better to watch the Olympic qualifiers, where you see something that's probably close to the national distribution.
I've read a cool article with premise of "endurance is for rich people, bodybuilding/strength is for is for poor people"
basically poorgays are like Black folk saying "muh dick", nothing to flex about but their bodies
rich people find muscles vulgar (they look bad in clothing) and endurance sports show their willpower and dedication, it's mostly mental virtues
There's something primal in the exertion and resisting the urge to stop in order to reach the destination. It's like proving to yourself that pain isn't enough to make you stop chasing your goal even it takes a long time.

What's up with all the bullshit psychoanalyzing in this thread? I'm poor as frick and I like running. It's just easy, doesn't require any equipment, can be done at any time, and gives you an excuse to go outside. That's it. It's the most straightforward way to improve your cardio while also having a good time.

Whites like slow control I guess
That’s the israelites
Jews are white
if you are listening, you will hear them say they are not
Just got back from a light run. OP, sorry, this now a /run/ thread.
What the frick are heart points

I don't mean it in a bad way, your motivations are just really funny
Sorry for calling u fat then
What do you do for a job
Finance management. I'm not some 500k a year finance bro I just took a job I can do in my sleep. Wife is a software dev so she makes more than I do.
How did you manage to land that I want something cushy as well

yeah, maybe in Burgerland. Here in Europe, you can't tell someone's wealth by what they drive or wear

Just run a 10k on one of the days you wouldve run 5. Pretty easy
why do runners overall look so fricking terrible?

They only do it for prize money because they're the genetic elite. Go to East Africa and you won't see people doing 10ks for leisure.
I think endurance sports are their choice because you don't have to be athletic and it favours being of slight frame.
those are Africans, not African Americans
